The only problem we found during our recent visit was the unwelcome intrusion of flies and insects. However, one of the friendlier waitress provided a citronella candle on request to try and keep the bugs at bay! The menu was pretty well varied with a selection of fish, meat, tapas and pasta dishes. We chose pasta which was relatively good and tasty but fairly ordinary. Got the impression that they were more interested in getting people into the restaurant and once seated the service was rushed and the head waiter was an unfriendly chap! However, the view from table is breathtaking and probably makes up for mediocre food!

There was a large group of us with varying orders which were all served to perfection, apart from the canarian potatoes which were cold but were replaced promptly upon complaint. As a very nice gesture which doesn't happen in many restaurants, we were all offered a free drink of our choice on the house before we left. This restaurant doesn't appear to have its own toilets so we had to use public toilets right next door... I didn't like that, however, they were spotlessly clean!

WOULDN'T FEED IT TO A DOG!…read more Myself and my girlfriend decided to eat here for a quick bite as we were peckish. I ordered a cheese burger which was probably the worst thing that's even been presented to me in a restaurant... it was mushy like it had been sitting out for days, it smelled like dog s**t and had a pathetic skewer with a tiny deformed tomato on it with some undercooked chips which I didn't ask for. My girlfriend ordered a plain chicken and cheese sandwich which turned out to be a grilled chicken and cheese toastie which was okay but not what she asked for. The fella who served us didn't agree with what I said about the burger but fairplay to him that he took it off the bill.

This restaurant is now owned and run by an Irish couple (Chris and Emer King) and as an Irish person, I feel proud and privileged to have eaten there. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten path and not really easy to find, it is situated just up the hill from the main harbour of the old town of Puerto del Carmen and actually right beside the other famous Irish/Polish Bozenas Restaurant. As we weren't overly hungry when we ate here last night we decided just to go for mains followed by a delicious dessert, judging by the menu! To our surprise we were happy we made that choice as we were presented with a complimentary sample of a mouthwatering caramelised onion and roast beef tartlet and sweet popcorn served with a selection of freshly baked breads. For mains we chose oven roasted chicken with black pudding and Parma ham stuffing and a red wine herb jus, plus king prawns sautéed in garlic, ginger and fresh chilli with a tomato concasse fresh herb and sticky rice. Accompanying both of those deliciously tasting dishes was a selection of perfectly cooked fresh vegetables and layered potatoes. For dessert we thoroughly enjoyed equally delicious and mouthwatering chocolate mousse and a truly amazing sticky toffee pudding, oozing with runny toffee sauce from its centre....served with a tiny ice cream cone! They had a good wine list and we enjoyed a half bottle of a Spanish cab. sauv, priced at around €8.50 which appears somewhat pricier than normal in the vicinity, but probably better quality! As we were presented with the bill of approx €56 for all of the above (again a little pricy but not for that type of food and service) we were given a complimentary glass of cava and tiny little salted caramel chocolates! Wonderful friendly and efficient service, lovely atmosphere and comfortable seating in a small but secluded terrace outside as well as inside space. Highly recommend this restaurant for a truly tasty and gourmet experience.

There are many good eateries in the town, but if you are going for the gourmet experience, this is the place to go. And even though this (both times) was the most expensive meal of our stay, is was also the best value.... both the food and the service was simply top notch. And still a bargain deal compared to danish prices. As vegans we often get something from the menu minus the meat, fish or cheese. We had heard, that they at Kristian's Restaurant could make vegan food so we went and asked, what we could get. We were told, that we had to book a day in advance, and get whatever the chef came up with. We took the chance, and booked a table. When we came there, we found out, that we got a five course dinner created just for us, for only around twice the price as we payed for 'run of the mill' standard starter and main course at other restaurants around. When we came back the second time, we got a totally different five course dinner. This place surpassed any expectation. Remember that if you want to order vegan, you have to tell them at day in advance, and be prepared to eat whatever the chef and owner Christopher comes up with. But rest assured, you will not be sorry :-)

There's an inside and outside area; so if you want to get out of the sun (though there is overhead shade), and you don't like taking in magnificent views, then sure sit inside in the cosiness! But if that IS your thing, pull yourself up a chair on the terrace, and sit back and take it all in. The food is also excellent. I had fresh fish fillet which was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth, with a massive salad, and plate of small gorgeous little potatoes with a side of various sauces. The staff were lovely too - warm, welcoming, professional & on the ball. Highly recommended.

This relatively new bar which is just 3 minutes walk downhill from Biosfera Shopping Centre in Puerto del Carmen (tucked away at the side of da Vincie Italian restaurant) is home to the owner and powerful singer, Rory Gallagher....of "Jimmy's winning matches" fame! He packs the place out night after night with unbeatable music and fun, coming on stage around 9.45 and belts out song after song for 2 hours without pausing for breath literally! Brilliant modern music and songs...he's also joined on stage by an amazing Spanish musician, called Pedro, who plays a whole array of cord instruments, then after 12 pm they're joined by another equally brilliant musician for a rock nd roll session! Like most of the music pubs in Puerto del Carmen, there's no cover charge, drink prices are fairly reasonable but closer to Irish pub prices really...I guess it's hard to quibble with that when such good entertainment is laid on.

There's a seating area upstairs with good view of the stage, and seating downstairs by the 2 bars also. There was air conditioning and plenty of wall fans too, which is ideal. We went as a large group with the youngest being 13 and oldest 49, there were family's with much younger kids there too and everyone enjoyed themselves. We had been to plenty of live music bars on our holiday but this was the best by far. Rory starts the set off on his own playing acoustic covers and then works his way up to a full 3 piece band! They played everything from chart music, pop classics, indie and classic rock. They also integrate a few of their original songs in as well. The venue opens around 8 but the music doesn't start till later, however I would recommend getting there for 9 and finding a seat as the place is full very quickly.
