I liked that they had a small wood fire burning in the center fireplace. Nice and cozy. On my return from La Ventana on February 3, I arrived late again, around 11pm and picked a spot and set up and slept in without any hassles. Same deal. Nice breakfast and friendly staff and a log was burning. Cozy. I would like to give them 5 stars, but their facility needs some upgrades first. All the electrical plugs that I found were standard house 110 plugs. Low amperage rating requiring additional electrical adapters. I have the adapter and used it, but noticed the plastic housing got pretty warm and melted the plug a bit. An upgrade to standard RV plugs would be a great improvement. Also, sewer dumps were not available at each site and I did not see any sewer covers on any--just a rock as a cover. Water was plentiful and the pressure was good. The restaurant was good, but just a bit untidy and in a little disarray, especially in the cooking area. The food was good and the presentation was nice. On the trip down, the campground was very quiet. On the return trip, dogs were barking all night, requiring me to turn on my fans to create some white noise to drown out the barking. It's difficult to find the campground, particularly at night. The road is dirt and was very rutted and full of potholes, requiring you to drive at a very slow crawl.

The meals I've had here are consistently the best I've had in Baja and most places in the states. I know the food is fresh because not everything is always available and there are always new specials with local in-season veggies and meats/fish. From the bluefin sashimi (seasonal) to the bananas foster, the meal never disappoints. My current obsession is the lobster stuffed portobello mushroom and the halibut when it's available. If you order the pasta on the cheese wheel you can get it with chicken, shrimp, or lobster. I've had them all and each is fantastic in it's own way. It's also dinner and a show as it's prepared tableside! Try it! People come from near and far for Javier's cooking and once you try t, you'll see why. It's an 8 hour trek, each way, for a long weekend for me and I can't do it often enough. Great service, fantastic food, dinner and a show, good prices and drinks too. Get you some of this!!
