Javier and Adriana have been taking care of us here since the restaurant opened. We've been going to the hotel attached since the restaurant was just an open air sand box with a fire pit. The meals I've had here are consistently the best I've had in Baja and most places in the states. I know the food is fresh because not everything is always available and there are always new specials with local in-season veggies and meats/fish. From the bluefin sashimi (seasonal) to the bananas foster, the meal never disappoints. My current obsession is the lobster stuffed portobello mushroom and the halibut when it's available. If you order the pasta on the cheese wheel you can get it with chicken, shrimp, or lobster. I've had them all and each is fantastic in it's own way. It's also dinner and a show as it's prepared tableside! Try it! People come from near and far for Javier's cooking and once you try t, you'll see why. A group of 14 of us were squeezed in without reservations on 12/13/25 without a reservation and served a special meal by the owner/chef Javier. I can honestly say that in 20 years of extensive travel in Mexico, eating at literally hundreds of restaurants, it was the best meal I have ever had there. The steak and shrimp were perfect. The chocolate cake dessert with ice cream was perfect and the margaritas and sangria were served with top flight alcohol. Very nice ambiance for Christmas as well. I was told this is one of the fanciest places in the area. The interior is very welcoming, full of wood, and sort of dark. Service was not there, I would expect more (with servers forgetting things several times). I really liked the shrimp kabobs, would order them again. This place was top notch. A nice little oasis tucked about 3 miles off the main highway. Primarily tourists here, as the prices are closer to that of an American restaurant, but great nonetheless. The staff is unbelievably friendly, great service the whole night. The chef, Javier, came to our table to chat after our meal. I ordered the lobster dinner and it did not disappoint. It can't get any fresher than this as the restaurant is right on the bay! I also saw the NY style cheesecake get popped right out the oven so I had to order it and it was sooo good. When I come back to visit, I'll be sure to stop here for a nice sit-down dinner. read more

Epilogue: If I had to say there was one theme coming from reviews about Eucalipto, it would be that it is expensive. Things that are expensive have higher expectations because there's a high bar that compliments the price. So, I was skeptical. I mean, what could a restaurant associated with an old fishing spot in San quintin offer? After having two world class meals there, the delivery exceeded the expectations and cost. I'm now in the camp that says that if you take the time to get to San Quintin, you can't afford to miss Eucalipto. Compared to the States, it's half the price. Fantastic!! Javier, owner and head chef, is an excellent cook. He really takes his time to make sure his dishes are prepared well. Fresh steaks, fresh seafood. If it isn't fresh, it's not served here. I had one of the best filet minion of my life here. I had some of the best ceviche and sashimi of my life here as well. If you're going to eat in San Quintin Baja California the Eucalipto Restaurant at the Old Mill Hotel is the place to go for fine dining, also great drinks and great Margaritas to. The Chef came out and chatted with us. The food is amazing. The new bar looks like an upscale place in Los Angeles. It doesn't look like much from outside but take the time to go inside and you'll be pleasantly surprised! The Kitchen looks like it could be on one of the cooking shows on TV. Can't comment on the food 'cause it never came. They weren't that crowded either. We gave up and left after we had waited more than an hour after we had placed our order. We came here on the advice of a gentleman we met one month ago, who's wife is a doctor with The Flying Samaritans, so he comes here about every other week, and he says, "This is the place!" He wasn't kidding! This was, hands down, the best food we've eaten in the last month in Baja, and the best food we've eaten in, at least, 4 years! We were served a fresh yellowtail ceviche first, instead of the usual salsa and chips. We ordered the house made Caesar salad, and heard the soups chef beating the dressing until it was creamy. So fresh and flavorful, the best I've ever tasted, served on whole crisp romaine leaves, with some sunflower seeds and other crunchy taste treats, which we could not identify. On the side were garlic toast and a slightly seared tomato slice. I didn't want it to end! But then came our seafood linguini for two! The most dazzling dinner ever! Out came a cart, with a huge wheel of parmesan reggiano cheese, in which he flambe'd tequila, rum and whiskey, to make a sauce for the tender and juicy shrimp and lobster that he put on the linguini, all cooked together in the Parmesan wheel! At the end, we had the creamy flan, for dessert! We drank 2 glasses of Fume Blanc and 1 glass of Chardonnay, and it all cost us only $62 American. There were only 2 waitresses, and they were so professional and helpful, they took care of the large group of doctors and nurses, and 2 other tables, without looking at all overwhelmed, and we were out of there in only 1 1/2 hours, kind of a record here in Baja. We could have stayed longer, never felt rushed. I think the owner is the chef, and he takes obvious delight in making a memorable dinner for his guests! read more
