The previous night we'd had a pretty greasy and disappointing experience at a kebap place and assumed they all were just "street food" without much thought put into it, but Prime Kebap proves you can be inexpensive but ALSO have great food! I've had friends rave about currywurst, and my entire family was pretty underwhelmed by the entire experience. It was basically a hot dog with some sauce and curry powder sprinkled on it. At least they weren't cheap on the fries, and in combination with the salad, it's a pretty substantial meal for the price you are paying. Service was extremely slow; perhaps because they were inundated with our entire tour group ordering at once (a group of about 15-20 people). It's no secret that I love me a good Farmer's Market. This one is no exception…read more There are tons and tons of things to buy; my favourite is the produce stands. Compared to local shops, the fresh fruits and vegetables are much cheaper, and sometimes even better quality. A recent trip yielded avocados, pumpkin, and arugula, and that was a show of restraint. There's so much more to be had, including meats and cheeses, snacks from food stands, practical household items, fabrics and craft-y things, clothing and jewelry, and more. Check it! The one disadvantage is the tight quarters. I'm used to markets with rows and rows and plenty of space, and this one is just along the sidewalk. The side up against the water is particularly crowded, with stalls on either side, making it a bit of an annoyance to walk through all the people. The flow of the crowd is generally smooth, albeit slow-going, but every once in awhile you'll find the stallers, who stand directly in front of what you're interested in and spend five minutes discussing the pros and cons of buying it. If you know what you want to get, this is a perfect place to go. However, if you're looking for a leisurely experience spent strolling up and down the market, go somewhere else.

Al-Andalos is located in the busy part of Neukölln, right on Sonnenallee. On a Saturday night at 10 p.m., it was full to the rim. No seats, stressed out staff, people fight for seats and the spot in the line to get the delicious food. We ordered the Al-Andalos platter for two (meat) for 11 EUR, which comes with an entire package of Arabic/Lebanese bread. We were barely able to finish the entire plate, there are many tasty things on this plate and even my companion that night, who is generally not so quickly to impress, admitted that it was probably the best he has eaten in a long time. Fresh, tasty, large portions and fair prices. Staff is super friendly and attentive! I think I will have to drive out to Neukölln more often!
