Kids quesadilla and beans ( they didn't have fries)
    Aisha H.

With family pictures coming up and needing specific items so we can all match it turned into a long and tiring day at the mall and traffic to get home was bad. Everything in the food court was overpriced and nothing sounded good. So driving we originally were going to go to frugals but the line was insanely long and then I saw El Mercado and I was happy because I always want Mexican food. This place is a little supermarket that has a butcher, traditional pastries, produce and many more items and in the back theres a little kitchen cranking out some Mexican specialities from tacos to burritos and Tortas and desserts as well. We were hungry but the wait wasn't long. We got our son a quesadilla they were out of fries so he went with beans as a side instead and he demolished his plate. My husband went with the Cali burrito and I went with the torta with carne asada and we shared a cantaloupe aqua Fresca which was so refreshing and delicious. Both the torta and burrito came with salsa, mine was a red salsa and my husbands was green it had a creamy smooth consistency with a kick- very good. Service was good and food was good would stop by again if I'm the area.

    Mangoneada

Mangoneada terrible, it was a thick syrup in ice with mango fruit on top. It was not blended at all. I asked why it wasn't a blended smoothie they said I didn't order a smoothie. Any mangoneada I have ordered anywhere is essentially a mango smoothie or sorbet with fruit on top and chili etc. not a thick syrup for a drink with ice. Undrinkable

    Mangoneada $5.99

I came in for one thing, a mangoneada. I did not have to wait too long. Once she was done with the order before mine, she helped me right away. She was very nice! I had no issues with any of the workers. The taste of the mangoneada was diff from what I've had at other places which I didn't like it, that is the only reason why I'm eating a 4 out of 5.

The best freshest green salsa I have ever tasted. Makes me wish they sold fresh flour tortillas and barbacoa on weekends. I come here to buy my carne asada meat and fresh produce. It's a bit packed in there at times.

This place has amazing burritos at their restaurant!! It is my favorite place to stop by when I am driving home to Seattle from crystal mountain. After a long day of snowboarding and driving, it's nice to stop by this place that has an authentic feel, great tasting food for cheap prices, huge burritos, and great salsa. I've taken 5 or so friends with me separate times, and each of them loved it. Trust me, try a burrito there sometime! Also, they have a market with great prices if you need any groceries, meats, spices, etc.

The worst fucking customer service super rude and racist

The food in the restaurant is fantastic. Two of my favorites are the beef burrito and the garlic butter shrimp. Try it with the green sauce.

Would be nice if they told their customers NOT to park in Joannes fabric parking. They ignore the signs

Has a bunch of fresh vegetables, meat counter in the back, restaurant on the side (That makes a deliciously spicy and creamy salsa verde).

A small convenience store at the corner of 4th and Adams. I've never been sure whether the place…read moreis called "Adams Market" because it's at the intersection with Adams, is called "Adam's Market" after someone named Adam, or is called "Adam Market" as it's sometimes rendered in other online results. The great thing about this place is the owner, who is jolly and sarcastic and funny, although his wit does tend to run a little absurd and not a little dry. Almost as great, though, is the selection of Middle Eastern foods. It's a great place to stock up on boxes of mahmouls for cheap, or to get tins of stuffed grape leaves, which are a vastly better snack than the paltry selection of heavily-processed junk food. Fresh, but limited, but huge, baklavah. The real wonder, though, is a small row of sodas in the back. Not the fancy burdock-and-ass English stuff, but the selection of Lebanese fruit sodas by Kazouza, the best of which is the watermelon. None of them are HFCS-loaded crap, but the watermelon nonetheless captures the fanciful watermelon flavor of something like a Jolly Rancher without being too cloying (at least, for the first few bottles.) It's so wonderful. Like, it completely changed my view of carbonated beverages. It's also a reliable place to get ayran, which is good when the Kazouza gets too sickly-sweet. Also, the brand of ayran they stock is also very useful as a yogurt culture, and at least with the milk from my goats that I tried it with, it resulted in some absurdly-thick and wonderful stuff. Some of the staff other than the owner can be a bit grumpy or difficult, and some of them are quite sweet and outgoing. Still, it's hard to fault the gruff ones. It's the most centrally-located and only late-night convenience store in downtown Olympia. It's a great place to rub shoulders with people who are drunk at noon and people who are far gone in the middle of the night. It really functions as Olympia's only Middle Eastern market. International Spice and Halal used to carry much of the same stuff, and since it closed and its owner moved on to other things, this is the best place to go. And it does a good job of that, while also doing a good job of being a convenience store. A very cool place. Near and dear to my heart.

This was our first visit back to La Rioja since the ownership changed, and we had a fabulous meal!…read moreLa Rioja has been one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, and they still create some of the tastiest dishes we've had in the region! The atmosphere of the restaurant has changed just a little, but the cooks are the same and the food is delicious. La Rioja is a little different from most local Mexican Family restaurants in that the dishes are a bit more up-scale and refined, with an emphasis on finer cuts of grilled steak and delicious sauces. You will not see ground beef used here - the tacos come with grilled strip cuts, and they offer a range of steaks which are delicious, served with an excellent chimichurri, on a sizzling stone, with ample sides. Portions are large! My chili rellenos were well prepared, sauced, and twice what I could eat. There were left-overs for everyone in our group! The horchatas were delicious. The food was well seasoned. The dishes came with cilantro and onion, pico de gallo, salsa, or habanero sauce if you wanted it. I did, and it was potent but perfect. The desert custard was talked about all the way home! Service was excellent. Francisco was delightful, attentive and made sure we were getting anything we wanted. If there was a hiccup after the change of ownership, it looks like it has been fixed things nicely. We loved all of our meals and can't wait to go back. The menu is a considerable step up from the typical "taco, enchilada, fajita" fare, but still robust and delicious. With the emphasis on steak cuts and great meat dishes it may be more expensive than many typical Mexican Restaurants but it is well worth it. We will be back!

3.5 stars, but not quite 4…read more Pros - decorations are nice, the staff were nice and came across as warm, casual. They had a taco guy set up outside so we got tacos de carnitas, which were very good, and a mix of cabeza meats. The queso tasted good, and the steak marinade was different but good. Husband is hard to please with salsas, but he liked these ones. Horchata was great, but again, the price was exorbitant. Cons - a $6 coke and my husband's tacos being served on a random paper plate...prices are crazy for the area this restaurant is located at. I got the feeling that the restaurant was a fancy cover for a casual taco place, meaning fancy looking but the staff kept calling out to each other, kind of yelling, obviously not caring about the plating, etc. The queso fundido came with a random piece of tripa, which kind of grossed me out, but I understand cross contamination is bound to happen with an outside cooking station. The steak marinade reminded me of a rice/Asian marinade, so while it was good, it didn't quite fit with the Mexican cuisine for me. Also, I kept burping it up 2 days after, so clearly it didn't sit right with me. Husband felt they skimmed on the chorizo sausage, as his plate came with a piece of sausage, not a full one.
