-Breakfast Buffet Review Only- If you are staying at the Hilton, you are sort of a captive audience when it comes to eating, unless you are willing to take a bus/car into town, or you brought your own food with you. I have had the buffet breakfast at El Meson twice now, and while it's a tiny bit pricy for Mexico, the great selection, quality ingredients, friendly and helpful staff, nice seating, and attention to dietary restrictions all make this restaurant deserving of five stars and of your consideration. With a tip, expect to pay around 600 pesos or $32 for the hot breakfast buffet (they have a cold option, but the best food is on the hot portion). The fruit selection is top notch and always fresh. The oatmeal is tasty, and they will bring you berries for it if you ask. The made-to-order egg bar is awesome, and while I have issues with milk, they had no problem keeping my egg and veggie scramble dairy-free. The selection of extras is nice too, they have bacon, sausage, at least one steamed veggie, and one or two Mexican dishes. The salsas are home made and super good: the green salsa is perfect on top of eggs. The ocean view is also really pleasant, the service is fast, and while the coffee is nothing to write home about, I've had much worse. This restaurant was rebranded as Talavera a few years ago. We have eaten dinner here a number of times over the last two years and the food and service have been excellent. Yes, it is expensive, but no more than any other high end resort restaurant is in Cabo. They also do a breakfast buffet each day out of the same location as well. The outdoor seating area also offers a great ocean view. read more

Great service with white table cloths! Food was fresh with grilled veggies, prime beef, pork tenderloin, sea bass, octopus, with several soups and salad options. The best part was the guacamole, it was so good I forgot about the chips. Hand made corn tortillas right in front of you. Glad to have experienced this lovely place. read more

Alright let me make this happen. I'm going to keep breakfast brief and focus on dinner service. Because? I want to and this is my review. Back up lol. Breakfast: We didn't want to do the buffet. We ordered off the menu and the Gluten after Banana Bread is good. I had the Steel Cut Oatmeal Brûlée. They're not steel cut, it wasn't great. They mis-charged us for breakfast. Why didn't I drop the number of stars? Luis Covarrubias from Food and Beverage handle it and made everything right. Jose Manuel and Jorge, site managers, hooked us up and gave great customer service. Dinner is fantastic. Every fish dish we tried was good. The Totoaba was a favorite. The grilled snapper is huge, but not as well liked as the Totoaba. The guacamole was excellent. Get a table as close to the edge as possible because the view is spectacular. They have excellent dinner service. They even bring out complimentary taster items etc. well done. Let me recognize Adrian and Irvin for being great servers. Diana at the front is so pleasant and personable. Final Word: Good customer service made us want to come back. Hilton has just reopened after the level 4.8 hurricane Dolores. This hotel is quite isolated, but that is also why it is serenity personified. Actually every beach and marina in Cabo was closed for the first four days of our trip due to a smaller off shore hurricane that brought rough seas to this area. They all displayed black flag warnings. Secondly, anytime you want to leave the hotel, it costs between 30 and 40 dollars one way. Other transportation options include the bus ($2-3) or walking in the 85-95 degree heat of the desert. Therefore we opted to eat almost every meal at on site. Sounds boring right? Quite the contrary! Let's start with El Meson! The breakfast was off the chain with green juice, fresh tropical fruit plates, Greek yogurt and parfaits with house made granola. They had many fresh juices and Aguas Frescos. If you just ordered the Continental Breakfast it included cereals, yummy pastries and everything healthy you can imagine. For just 30 pesos more, you could choose meats and egg dishes as well. Dinner was delightful. This trip we kept sharing the lobster which was quickly fried with ginger, green onions, and garlic, portobello mushrooms and bok choy. It was lightly tossed with a sauce mixture reminiscent of a Chinese seafood dish. We had the sea bass which was well prepared and cooked to perfection, as well as the shrimp. The Vuelve de la Vida ceviche was out of this world with super fresh ingredients. The desserts were extraordinarily presented, however there was not one that I would reorder or recommend. I would rather save the calories to eat more of the delicious breads served with the herbed butter in the artisan bread basket. Service was friendly and professional. Every staff member treated us well. It was peaceful, beautiful, and a culinary pleasure to dine at el Meson. I cannot wait to return! read more

Delicious Dinner at El Meson! We were there as a family of 10 with 4 children and could not have enjoyed the food, service or experience more. Carne Asada, Red Snapper, Totoaba, Spicy shrimp/fish soup in a mini Mason jar, mole butter and bread, tortilla soup, beautiful salads and flaming pots of seafood. Just perfection! You get quality over quantity at the Hilton Los Cabo's compared to an all-inclusive. read more

Great verity of food for breakfast at the resort. I love the authentic Mexican food you have to choose from along with the staple of American options. Every meat choice they had available for breakfast was outstanding...rib-lets, Chicken, pork in a verity of sauces were fantastic. The staff was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. read more

This restaurant at the Hilton doesn't exist anymore and a great many things have changed. It's Talavera. Saturday, Mexican fiesta night, dinner was $67 pp. Breakfast buffet is now $34 pp. We have stayed at the Hilton for 22 years and didn't even bother eating there this time. My favorite restaurant in Cabo! We ate breakfast here everyday -- that's how good it was. It was about $25 for a buffet breakfast that I would compare to the Four Seasons breakfast buffet in the states. SO many options! from an omlette bar, to a smoothy bar, to fresh pressed juices to a fruit bar to various meats and eggs. Service of course was on point - as it was everywhere at the resort. We also went here for dinner when my husband was craving a stake (after eating tacos for multiple meals :P). I order the enchiladas and for dessert we had this AMAZING churro dish. My mouth waters just thinking about it. The plating was excellent. It felt like were were at at 5 start restaurant because of how intricate and detailed the plating was. We both ordered drinks, an appetizer, our two dishes and a dessert for about $90 USD. Not bad considering this type of meal in the sates would be $150+. read more

Time for a reality check for this standard hotel restaurant institution posing as a Mexican restaurant. Please. Spend the money on a taxi and go get some real Mexican goodness for 1/10th of the price. Ceviche La Vida? Uhhh...raw seafood in ketchup sauce - no thanks. Carnitas decent. No Baja style fish tacos - to the hotel: you're already charging $20 for a set 3 other types of tacos, how about representing the local style?! This restaurant is located on the second level of the Hilton Los Cabos. Out of the 4 restaurants on the property I would say this is their higher end one. Super classy and elegant indeed. Plenty of seafood options...we ordered the lobster and branzino both fabulous. Service is top notch! Try to go when they have live music. We just happened to be there where they had a wonderful guitarist there singing. Definitely added to the mexican vibes. We went all out as far as ordering including wine and drinks and the bill was quite reasonable. Back in Cali where I am from our bill would probably have been double! Menu was simple and my kids enjoyed their food from the kids menu. Really romantic place we really enjoyed our dinner here and you can't beat the ocean views! read more

This restaurant is located in the Hilton los Cabo's. I ate here for dinner only because after a long day of travel we didn't feel like going into town and there's no other food options close by. I had a Hawaiian pizza which was ok. It wasn't bad but it was totally awesome either. It cost about $15 and the size is pretty big. Depending on how hungry you are, it's possible you can have leftovers for a late night snack. The atmosphere here is elegant with a candle light dinner under the stars. Nice view of the infinity pool and ocean. I'm giving it 4 stars because the staff here was very attentive. Great service and beautiful restaurant. read more

The food was good, but the service was off. We felt forgotten multiple times throughout the night and were there for almost two hours due to the delays in between seeing our server. The staff are all wonderful and genuine, so this review is no critic of them, but with as little as we saw our server, I wonder if they may have been understaffed. read more

Stayed at the Hilton and enjoyed breakfast every morning here and a few nights for dinner. The breakfast was great and Miguel was a standout. Service was attentive and very kid friendly. The food was fresh, delicious and consistent. Dinner was also very good, although we found a little less consistency in terms of the service (for example, sometimes they offers fresh fruit for your water other times not, they cleared the plates when you finished rather than waiting for all of us to have finished our meal). read more
