I am a Casa Pedro groupie. No question. A visit to Asturias is not complete if you don't eat…read morehere. The restaurant is in a small village (San Juan de Parres) outside Cangas de Onis. Yes, you can walk up here from Cangas de Onis (Puente Romano), but it's uphill, so spring the 7€ for a cab to take you up. I do suggest the walk down back to Cangas, because it'sBEAUTIFUL as well as will help you digest!!. Ok, the food. We literally come here every day they are open, (we have stayed in that tiny town or Cangas) because not only is the regular menu amazing with multiple choices of traditional Asturian cooking, the chef is beyond talented and creative and has infused his talent into woks, sushi, and other specials, which may only be available THAT day. (I suggest you follow on Instagram or Facebook). Wine selection is above par - they have all ranges to fit your price range, and every bottle, including the least expensive is amazing. The sommelier knows exactly what she's doing - and compliments each dish her brother and mother (chefs) do. This family place is just incredible. If they have a seafood special get it, but also, make sure you come back again for the chuletón. They show you what it looks like before, and then grill it to perfection.. My mouth is watering as I type this.. Been a loyal client for 10 years - and will continue to return every time we're in Asturias.

One of the best restaurants we've been to in Spain. We were in Aviles for a book festival and found…read morethis place. You have to make reservations as they get packed with locals. But the food is sooo good. Their arroz con lobster can easily feed everyone as it's so big. The rice is so rich with flavor and they don't skimp on the lobsters either. We were going to order more but the waiter kindly recommended we not as it was a lot. Second time we went back, we had the zamburinas as an appetizer and they are excellent too. As a cider house the cider is of course good and it's fun seeing the waiters pour it from on high. The service was surprisingly good. They were super friendly and took care of us. Also they have English menus if you use the QR coHighly highly recommend!

When I arrived, I was given the menu and I chose to get a grilled Merluze (Hake). It came with potatoes. I asked for it with no salt, as Spanish cuisine tends to be too salty for my taste. As I waited for my meal, I was given bread, which I ate...in many parts of Spain, any bread you get is an extra charge. The fish came nicely grilled, tender on the inside and nicely browned on the outside. The flavor was good and the seasoning was low, basically no salt. I asked for pepper and it made my dish perfect for me. Lots of locals were eating here, so i's not a tourist trap. They take credit cards.
