Used State Farm roadside assistance and got assigned this company. They didn't show after the initial ETA and then again after another ETA update they didn't show. Finally had to cancel and get another company on board after waiting a total of 3 hours and 45 minutes for this company. Total waste of our day and time! They never answered our direct calls and only answered when State Farm communicated with them. read more

Professionalism is Non-Existent Avoid El Monstro Towing. I was stranded from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM because of their blatant dishonesty. I spoke with three different drivers who all claimed they just needed to "swap trucks" and were on their way. Instead of showing up, they lied to my face and then quietly canceled the request through my insurance without telling me. They left me sitting in the dark for nearly four hours with zero intention of helping. Incompetent and deceptive. If I could have given them 1/10 of a star I would have. Unacceptable. read more

This past week, I got a flat tire. My tires are under warranty & the dealership requested an ASAP roadside assistance for a tow to take my SUV to them for repair. El Monstro continued to give them updates as to their estimated arrival & kept pushing the time out. They clearly are accepting more calls than they have capacity to handle. They continued to lie regarding their ETA. The phone number to call to reach them does not accept calls. They kept me waiting for 3 hours! I was so frazzled by the time they got my SUV that I didn't search my car for anything I needed to remove. When I picked up my car from the dealer I found that items had been stolen. None of the items are a major deal by themselves but to lie about your ETA, leave me waiting 3 hours, and then have the audacity to steal stuff. I have escalated this to the dealership in my efforts to get El Monstro kicked out of their roadside assistance program. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are crap! read more

The day of pickup they were waiting for us and quickly got the vehicle loaded. Once in largo the driver asked how I wanted it and diligently worked to get it just perfect on the driveway. This company was assigned to me and left me stranded on the side of a very busy road in Brandon, FL and after three hours and multiple phone calls ,promises that they were in route because of supposed breakdown , they canceled the service. My VW was towed due to a flat tire. But the tow guy dropped off my VW at the Hyundai service station. Even though is technically is the same parking lot, it took the VW Service Station over an hour to find the car. VERY VERY ANNOYING. Unfortunately two days in a row I had to get my truck towed and both times this company has either not showed or ignored our calls to get an update on arrival time. The first time they just never showed up with no notification and I was stranded for over 2. 5 hours. I'm not sure how a business like this stays operating with this level of customer service. We had to go with another towing company and waited less time for that one. Not sure how a company like this even gets contracts with a business like this one. Reading the reviews this appears to not be the first time this company has done this to other customers. Seems very unprofessional to run a business this way and to put customers who are waiting in dangerous situations because someone decided they didn't want to do their job. If we ever need a tow again I will never go with this company nor will I recommend this company to anyone. I would give less than one star if I could. I'm sure this will not make a difference with this company but at least others will see it and be able to go with someone else instead of El Monstro Towing where I believe the name is appropriate as The Monster to deal with towing company. read more

The service took forever, the only reason i'm giving it three stars is because of the operator, he was incredibly nice, and after he got there 5 hours later, he got the job done with no damage, quickly and with a smile on his face. You can reach them at (813) 498-8300.. 3 hours alter (after I tried that number 15 times. No answer no one called me. Nothing) after I called me insurance back to see what I should do . They said nothing they can do as I canceled that request. Side note I never called it . They just never showed up. So my wife and child who is an 8 year old little girl was left in the hot sun for 4 hours before we called another truck company and they had someone to us in 10 mins ...... please do not use them garbage person . Absolutely horrible would never recommend. Waited over 3 hours for tow truck to come I missed the appointment at the tire shop that I had made. Not only that they not communicate because they don't know basic English then got frustrated with me because the driver that came out tried to move my car on a rim! I'm pretty sure he cracked the axle. I got upset told him leave car alone then proceeded to call me stupid in Spanish, like I couldn't understand?!? So, I lost my mouth on him. Currently waiting for another company to come out and make sure he didn't do any damage as I suspect. I've been on the phone with State Farm and El Crappo Towing will be losing their contract for roadside assistance with them! This review is in regards to making things right. Progressive Insurance sent me a survey which I assumed was them asking about progressive. It wasn't. My intention was to give them the low rating since they were the facilitator of dispatching a different towing company that never showed up. These guys (Monstro Towing) showed up promptly after sending an ETA and having waited for a different tow company for 6 hours that never showed up. They got my short but challenging tow done safely and very quickly once on the scene. Unfortunately we didn't get the gentleman's name but he got it done in some awesome cowboy boots! I just want these guys to know that their 5 star service was very much appreciated and I would call them directly next time I am in need of assistance. This company does not know the meaning of being kind. The dispatcher/owner is a complete asshole. Being lied to over and over again on timing. Came out quickly to tow a broken car from one family member's house to another family member's house about 4 or so miles away. I had flexibility on when to move it, so it worked out great that he could come the same night I asked for a cost quote. There were some challenges since he spoke Spanish and I speak English. I only know a few Spanish words, but we were able to work through the challenges and get the car hooked up, flatbedded, and moved to the other house. The car had been sitting for several years with parts removed, making it non-operational. The driver was skilled in determining how to load it onto the tow bed without damaging the car and was able to offload it exactly where it needed to be at the destination. The cost was what they quoted, with no surprises. I would use them again. Thanks for taking care of my tow. The wrecker cab has cool lighted eyes that blink at night.
