This little bakery was right across the street from the hotel I stayed in. Not wanting to try the fabulous continental breakfast at the hotel, we decided to try this place. It's a small space but offers a lot of different sweets, pastries, sandwiches, and more. I decided to try the ham & cheese empanada while hubby went for the chorizo empanada. They gave us nice big & delicious servings that kept us full until dinnertime.
We topped it off with cafe con leche and were off to exploring the city!
Seems like they are popular with the locals as there was a line the entire time we were there. Long line, but never a long wait - the 2 women working here were quick and efficient with smiles on their faces the whole time. I also noticed that they knew the names of a bunch of regulars.
Also, they sell cheap bottles of water that you can take with you on your walks. read more
