    Delicious burger and fries
    Missy B.

I frequently visit Mazatlan with a friend who has family there and we ended up here for dinner together on our last night in town. We had a big group and definitely did not all show up at the same time, but they easily and happily accommodated us. I ordered the burger and oooooooeeeeeeeeeeee it was BOMB! The burger patty was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the veggies were fresh, but the real star for me was the bun. It was so fluffy and soft - I could've eaten an entire meal of just buns, hun! They had a decent red wine which I thoroughly enjoyed, though the rest of the table enjoyed various cocktails and mentioned how delicious they all were. Overall, EL Pargo y La Vaca made our last night a memorable one and I will most definitely be returning on my next visit!

The servers could speak English and Spanish! The menus were in English and Spanish. The food was incredible. I had ceviche Aztec! The sauce and the fish were exquisite! The music playing was 80s and light rock. We were off the main road so no road noise! Pleasant atmosphere to just sit and chat and reflect on the day.

Friends of ours who have lived in Mazatlan for many years brought us to this off the beaten track spot. It is only a block of the Malecon in old Mazatlan, but if you didn't know to look for it, you would never done it. Although it is booked as a sports bar, when we were there in the early evening it seemed very much like a nice restaurant with a couple of TVs, not a raucus hard drinking bar. We started with delicious ceviche made with shrimp, pulpo (octopus), and fish mixed with the usual vegetables. It was really tasty and all of the seafood was soft and tender. A great start to put meal. They have a nice selection of drinks, both with liquor and without and plenty of beers to choose from. Our host had a virgin strawberry colada, my wife a traditional Pina colada while we others had over cold beers. One of us had the grilled Salmon, my wife had the filter de pesvado con cilantro which was a couple of nice pieces of fish on a bed of julienned vegetables and a very tasty cilantro sauce. Our host reported that it is his favorite dish. The last two meals were the pork ribs (costillos) which were very tender and covered with a sweet sauce with just a hint of butterscotch to it. The ribs were large enough that I brought 1/2 home with us and we both had a good lunch with one still left over. We didn't see any other gringos here, only lots of local groups. A great place for a more authentic meal of you are visiting.

    Rib Eye

Terrible Service, came in on Tuesday February 15, 2022 at 10:00PM and they got my food messed up twice, I asked for a medium term rib eye and at first they gave it to me well done and then I asked to be fixed ans they gave it to me rare. Waitress and manager were super rude, looks like they weren't having it late night. This happened at Marina by the way. Definitely Not a pleasant experience.

So our pulmonia driver recommended Cheers, a full service bar that was about 5 minutes away. We gave it a try and within 10 minutes, a live band started playing. The band began playing ranchero like music, not the genre we wanted to hear. However, being the good sport we were, we stayed a good 45 minutes and ordered drinks. All staff were polite, helpful and accommodating. Servers definitely worked the room. There were lots of chairs to choose from, front and back but decided to sit at the very back area of the bar. No offense to the band, but we preferred not too close as we were not feeling the music already, unfortunately. Lesson learned, we should have asked the hostess what kind of music the band was going to play for the evening. How did we miss that. Cheers had tons of tables and chairs to choose from, especially for large groups. There was even a private room. The ambience was perfect, giant TV, good service, basically a good package. We would definitely come back to Cheers if DJ (or band) if hip hop, reggaeton, 70s/80s/90s pop dance were being played. We would even come for Ibiza sounds just so we can get out of resort to chill for the evening. We ended up finishing our night at Gus Gus, half a mile down the street.

I ordered a giant marg and hubby ordered a giant paloma. i went to use the restroom...it was not very clean but not horrible... boys said that their bathroom had a giant pee trough...haha! love it we then ordered shots of tequila (not for the 13 year old)...he stuck with his bottled water from the ship. as we were ready to leave they brought us another shot each..yum! our total bill was like $15 the bartender did not speak much English..but the other guy there did...they were super duper friendly and helpful! there was also a food cart outside and came in to take orders...but we weren't hungry at all...wish i would have tried something though. we were the only customers in the place ( i don't think they were actually open yet...but they weren't going to turn away customers)... if you want to go were all the tourists are...then this may not be your spot... if you want a pretty darn good drink with good service then you will like it here

The proprietor was busy cleaning the exterior of the place and we asked (in Spanish) if he was open and he answered back in English that yeah, we could come on inside. Sometimes little happenstance discoveries make life the best, and this is one of them. There's a very small brewery room where beer is made right on the premises. It's not the fanciest of operations, but it works. We opted for a sampler of local beers from regions throughout the country. The portion sizes of the sampler were huge. I had a large bottle of water and our total check was less than $6 U.S. The guy also popped fresh popcorn for us as a bar snack. The vibe is really cool, with loud Spanish music and an open (practically outdoor) beer garden feel. Instead of a traditional German look, it felt more like a warehouse with rad graffiti and street art all over. Since it was still early, we were the only folks inside until two older American women wandered in. They came up to the bar where we were quietly enjoying the beer and conversation in Spanish with the man there and loudly yelled out "do you have BELGIAN BEER?!?" No kidding. He was so polite and said no, they only had Mexican beer. The ladies were none to happy with this and said something along the lines of "what kind of brewery doesn't have Belgian beer?" and left. We then all three proceeded to shake our heads, roll our eyes, and poke fun at them. Ridiculing idiots is the universal language that can bring us all together, LOL.

But walking down the street one day while exploring Mazatlan, we stumbled across Cueva Del Diablo. This is an amazing open air craft beer bar with some delicious offerings. Pale Ale's, Red's, IPA's etc. This is exactly what I needed and have been searching for all week. Even the locals I asked didn't know about this place. Cueva needs to be put on the map, especially with such good beers on tap. However, their is an apartment right above the brewery that has a patio overlooking the entire establishment. This patio sadly held the most obnoxious POS dog on the planet that was incessantly barking at every patron in this place. It was so obnoxious that it caused us to leave prematurely. So if someone could do away with it that would be great. Mkay.
