We are committed to providing technical and artistic training of the highest quality in the art of classical ballet and other dance forms. Very young students will develop self-discipline and confidence as they gain mastery over their movements and discover the joy of self-expression. Aspiring dancers and professional artists will continually refine their technique, expand their artistic skills, and gain valuable performance experience through our Company.
History
Established in 2007.
El Paso Ballet Theatre School provides an exemplary classical ballet program, with a systematic, well-structured curriculum for students from age three through adult. The major goals of the El Paso Ballet Theatre are to teach all its students self-discipline and self-confidence for success in their chosen field, and to prepare future dancers for transition into professional companies.
In January 2009, Artistic Director Marta Katz formed the El Paso Ballet Theatre Company, a pre-professional company which, since its debut in February 2009, has gained recognition and praise for its public performances.
To enhance the training experiences and performing opportunities of its students and dance students in the community, the El Paso Ballet Theatre brings in accomplished professional artists to conduct Master Classes and Summer Intensive Programs, and to choreograph and stage major productions.
Meet the Business Owner: Marta K.
Marta Katz is the Executive and Artistic Director of the El Paso Ballet Theatre (formerly the El Paso Conservatory of Dance and the EL Paso Youth Ballet). She has danced at the Compania Nacional de Danza in Mexico City, and. She holds a degree in Ballet Performance from UTEP and has taught ballet in Mexico City, UTEP, and at EPCC. She is recognized as an exceptional instructor of dance.
