It had plenty of events going on from music, interactive story telling, hands on activities, to spiritual cleansings, or limpias. One of the cooler temporary exhibits Musica sin Fronteras. The exhibits showcases the groups, genres, bands, studios and venues that have called the borderland their home, and the impact they had on the El Paso and if their day. It was pretty cool to see items from the past and reflect on the impact they had on me. Who would have imagine bed that the contributions they had on the Frontera, and the Frontera had on them were so plentiful. The kids found plenty to do and see as much of the museum is interactive. If the rotation of exhibits is regular, then so shall our visits to the museum.

They are very inclusive and you get to learn so much about Texas and Mexico and the history of the native Americans and how it shaped that part of the country. The first thing you notice as you walk in is the amount of space that the grounds have. If you walk in you'll notice the food stands to the left and some covered picnic areas immediately to the right. If you walk past the picnic areas, you'll run into some activity areas. The food is expectedly pricey, but you don't have to eat there... just plan ahead. Noah found some friends and headed for the huge slide, after going down that a few times; he went to the ball toss areas. Noemi found her own friends and dragged Liz the other way. They ran through the garden maze first, and found a bounce area. Both kids found the large corn maze area and explored it with their respective friends. We spent a good 30min at least in the long trail. After the kids got done with the maze, they went to hang out and feed the penned up goats. Noemi in particular couldn't wait for the pig race. Noah and I took a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch, wandered around, but we didn't buy any pumpkins or gourds that day. The folks were super friendly - whether it be at the maze, the activities, the food stands... they were all friendly. They have some food options. We ate beforehand, but we got some lemonades and waters to keep us going. La Union has plenty of parking in a lot right out front. The recommendation to bring sunscreen and bug spray is legit... keep it handy. Lookin' forward to next year.

Border patrol agents play an important part in putting a dent into these criminal activities. This is a indeed a great little museum rich in interesting details and facts about the border patrol! There is not a lot other than these various military vehicles in the building, in fact it is probably more than half empty space, so lots of room for growth. Still, it provides a great opportunity to get up close and personal with every major tank iteration the Army ever used. All are hands off, but each has a nice poster with the very basic information about the vehicle. Didn't take long to wander through but enjoyable experience as an Air Force veteran from the Desert Storm era.

I can't help but laugh at the "underfunded" comments. This is a local, unique museum: not a MoMA or Dallas Museum of Art with deep pocketed patrons/esses. I don't know of a single small museum that is rolling in extra funds and endowments to afford multiple curators or purchasing well-known works. Help them out and leave a donation if you feel offended by it! I went on a Sunday and there were two artists in person at the museum that were talking to and interacting with guests about their work. They made it a point to talk to every single person in the museum. It was really great to hear about their process and what their works mean to them. The museum features many varieties of exhibits; pre-colonial, Asian, bronze casts, furniture, photography, a huge display of local artist's work, and a case of creepy, definitely not-haunted dolls in the basement. Everyone in your party will find an exhibit they like. I enjoyed a set of tapestries by a local artist and am attaching a picture. Overall, I would recommend visiting this museum! The multiple exhibits, pride in local history, and visiting local artists are high points to this place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - I don't mind that they kept out of the way and I had freedom to explore wherever I wanted. No entrance fee, clean bathrooms, and private parking lot are available. Minus one star for a couple of rooms feeling incomplete.

I was invited to join the celebration of the 10th year of The City Magazine - "10 years - 100…read moreissues - 1,000,000 in circulation!" As a transplant I have never heard of the magazine before, but it's wonderful to see people come out and support the legacy that they're building. I knew not one soul there besides the police officer on duty helping out, and I ended up talking to him the whole night. I guess I'm more of the "help" type than a guest. They had cute desserts and a wine bar, and everyone was dressed to the nines! I was dressed like a 3, I can't be bothered nowadays, being so hot to suffer in a tight dress or heels. I'll leave it to Miss Texas 2021 and the other gorgeous ladies in attendance. I'll just gorge myself with the deserts. It was held at the International Museum of Art which is a really beautiful space, albeit hot and cold at times. They have the magazine on display right now and the museum is run on donations. Come check it out and see the treasures they hold. When I was in Paris they used to have these small museums free everywhere and the locals loved going to them as a family outings, it's part of their culture to embrace art and social studies. I think there is…read morea lot of room for CTB to grow so who knows what it will look like in a few years, but as it stands it should be on your list of "things to do in El Paso". This year we decided to go early morning on Saturday which I think is a really good idea if you want to beat the heat. I think we ventured to just about every booth and I was really impressed by the range of vendors. Everything from clothes to sweets to paintings to salsa to face painting. I did pick up a few things here and there. There were at least twenty food trucks, but only a handful of the big dogs (shout out to Sweet Addiction!) which makes me wonder... if they have only a select space for the food trucks how are they selecting them (or is it first come first serve) and what kind of fees are they charging them. I went to two different food trucks that I've never heard of and both left me disappointed... also both charged me two dollars to use a debit card even though they were using Square. Moral of the story, bring cash or be extremely choosy when it comes to the food vendors at CTB (even the other vendors I talked to were shocked that I was charged for using a debit card). Okay so the chalk... you'll find both professionally drawn works and the regular Joe type. All are fascinating to look at and they always have a competition. Those are the pieces you really want to check out. Along with chalk art, CTB always has other forms of art including live performances. This year one of the things I really loved was the moving fire breathing dragon. I didn't get to see it at night which would've been amazing, but seeing it during the day in all it's glory definitely wasn't a let down. Cannot wait until next year's CTB. Great for kiddos, families, and adults alike. It's a lot of fun and there's so much to see. And it doesn't hurt that you can also add the Museum of Art and the Museum of History to your adventure.

The work put into these concrete canvases is truly marvelous. Not to worry, there are opportunities for the average joe to showcase his skills too. As you walk the streets you can grab chalk and go to town. Of course, in good old El Paso fashion there were plenty of local vendors selling their wares; sweets, shirts, pillows, crochet creations, cds, trinkets and whatnots. The food truck circus had an area too. Not your popular food trucks, some of the up and coming guys. Here is where my 5th star was lost. I wish it were more of the popular ones. The food from these trucks were sub-par, plus they taxed the heck out of you for using a credit card. $2!!! The regular vendors didn't upcharge you 2bucks, only the food trucks. The service was very slow too. CTB is a family friendly event. Bring comfy shoes, imagination and some cash. Have a great time.

Worth visiting if you're in the area nd want to learn more about the oldest federally recognized tribe in Texas.
