Stay away!! El Paso in Thibodaux... Food was OK, when they brought it to you. Waitress argued about items on menu, then 15 min later she brought the forgotten items. Drink refills were nonexistent. Had to beg for a straw and silverware. Waiter who played the manager was NO help at all, when the manager finally came, it seemed no one could speak English or understand what the problem was. Very spacious, liked that they were well staffed, there was a crowd but we were seated immediately (huge plus). The staff were friendly and our waiter was quick to get our order. This place is always consistent with there food. The veggie quesadillas are delicious as well as the veggie fajitas any any fajitas dish. Very clean place and staff is very nice staff. There salsa is amazing. They give you 3 different kinds of dips when you sit with chips. I highly recommend this place. The service could be a little better. But, other then that I will be back!!! The food was very good, I was highly impressed with the chili relleno! The enchiladas were fine, but nothing spectacular to brag about. The waiter was very attentive. Andy is right, it's not so busy...After talking with Reuben, the owner, he said Thibodaux is light for traffic. I'm happy to say I've been to Houma, Thibodaux and the Morgan city locations and excited there is a new one opening in Raceland (in the Sugarland plaza). Coming from California I am hard to criticize Mexican fare, but this place is good. Tons of choices, both for the American and Latin tastes....Lunch deals are amazing and a ...beep beep beep...truckload of food. I generally get the Ceviche Tostados and have them mix fish and shrimp....the Shrimp cocktail is more like a gazepacho, but really yummy...and a friend recently had the Enchiladas Supreme and boy he ate last morsal....I went to la casa once in Houma and Cajun laMex and after eating here I will never go to those places again read more

Terrible terrible restaurant. Sat at the bar and it took 30 minutes before the bar tender even acknowledged I was there. Multiple other waiters and waitresses noticed and didn't offer help either. Ordered a margarita and it came in a dirty glass, I sent it back and she just dumped the margarita in a different glass, after being in the dirty one... ordered a steak MR, charro beans, and salad because I like the way steaks are cooked/seasoned at most Mexican restaurants. Took 45 minutes for my meal to arrive with the following mistakes. 1.Salad came out at the same time as the steak and beans. 2.Salad was mostly just inconsistently chopped onions, tomatoes, and a massive amount of Mozzarella cheese. There was hardly any lettuce. 3. Steak and beans were cold. At this point I just wanted to leave I told the bartender that it was cold and she seemed to sincerely apologize I told her don't worry about it I'll just finish my margarita and tab out. She insisted that she'd bring me another one. 4. Steak and Beans come back out steaming, on clearly the same plate, I can see my knife marks where I had cut into the steak previously. I cut into the middle of the steak and it was like beef jerky.... Well done would be an understatement. I tell the waitress I want my check for the margaritas and go to leave. She hands my the tab with the meal and margaritas, I told her I'm not paying for the steak and she said the manager won't let her take it off or else it will come out of her tips. Hubby and I stopped in for an early dinner and thought we'd give El Paso a try. They were pretty dead, but we visited at a weird time, so no real surprise there. The server was very friendly and content. My water glass was never empty and he kept our chips and salsas comin'. The chips were light and crispy, just the way I love them. The salsas were also pretty clutch, and the highlight of the meal. I was not entirely enthusiastic about the server who came sweeping the floor, flicking the dust up toward the table we were eating at. Don't get me wrong, I love a clean restaurant, and El Paso is a clean restaurant (yay!!!!!), but kicking floor dust up into my salsa kind of makes me sad. The menu was a bit overwhelming with 117 options (in addition to appetizers, salads, and soups). The majority of it was Mexican fare but they also serve a large variety of American items such as burgers, steaks, and ribs. Hubby ordered some combo that came with an enchilada, a burrito, and a taco (all beef). We also got a tamal and a chile relleno a la carte. The beef was seasoned well in all of the dishes. The taco shell was fried to order, which was a pleasant surprise, and the fixings on it came out fresh. The burrito was served on the same plate as the enchilada, so both were smothered in sauce, which was okay, but if you prefer your burritos dry, you might want to speak up because you won't be asked. The chile relleno tasted like it had been in the fridge a little too long or maybe it had been microwaved? The tamal was moist and tasty, probably my second favorite next to the salsa. I really wanted to like it more, but the experience was overall mediocre. Would I go again? Sure. But, unfortunately, it was really nothing special for me. read more

Drove to Morgan City-opened container to find they gave me Tacos Al Carbon :( How does this happen when there's no guests in the restaurant? Very unhappy--won't stop again. Extremely disappointed I always loved eating at the Thibodaux El Paso but today, 8/25/20, something was not right not sure if they got a new cook but man it was horrible it was like as if they forgot to season the food very dry and no taste at all. This place has the worst service i have ever seen. i was not treated like a customer I sat and waited to be acknowledged for 15 mins and then was apologized to and then i had to wave down a random waiter to have the check handled by someone else - - - they never came back. had to go to up to the registers to get acknowledged again. this is ridiculous. i do not recommend this place. read more

Considering all the Tex-Mex/Mexican options in the Houma/Thibodaux area, El Paso is by far my favorite. I've eaten here more times than i can count and the food has always been hot and tasted fresh. The restaurant itself consistently looks clean and well kept. The one reason i didn't give them 5 stars was service, which is hit or miss. There always seems to be lots of workers walking around but it still takes a while for drink refills or to get extra items such as lime wedges or napkins. Definitely worth a try over La Casa, La Palma and some of the other substandard Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurants around. read more

We came in for lunch today. We were seated fast. I asked for some guacamole and the lady brought it out quickly but as I ate it something didn't taste right but I just let it go. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and it came with the rice and beans and some guacamole and wouldn't you know it had the same taste as the other one and the tortillas they give you we're stuck together and hard and dried. I could only use one. My wife had the shrimp chimichanga and she told me it tasted old and had an old oil taste to it. I was very disappointed in the food and service. The lady who was waiting on us walked by our table 4 or 5 times and never noticed my glass was almost empty. I don't think we will be returning at all very disappointed. read more

Place is a typical Tex Mex. But boy do we love our Tex Mex around here. The food is nothing special but they cater to large crowds and focus on getting you in and out. This is true about the other El Paso Grills I've been to. My daughter loves it and we'll keep going.
