Smiling Kevin (manager). Our cart died on us twice in one round and they had to switch out the carts. We had to push the dead carts to move away from the fairways for other players while waiting. After the round, we went to see the pro shop manager, Kevin, to notify the issues and asked if he can extend any concession. Instead of any apologies, he stated that "our staffs switched out the carts and what else do you need". He had a fake smile on his face and gave us contemptuous look. He needs to get some training how to treat their customers with respect. I am not going back to the course again! MC read more

This place has 2 great golf courses. Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Butterfield is the easier of the 2. They have a grass range and 3 putting greens. It's a great price for a good round of golf. There are nicer options if in the area, but expect to pay $30 more. I golf Prado around one a week. They continually are working on making the courses better. Give Prado a chance, you'll thank me later. read more

we played the Chino Creek course 12/23/2020, yesterday. Overall course conditions were very poor. Fairways were hard pan and no grass. Off the fairway was pure hard dirt......greens were punched weeks ago and not mowed , all bumps .... two putt max rule should be played. Sand bunkers were "cement like"..... the cup holes were all the way down to the bottom. cart paths are dirt trails..... there was a beverage cart, we saw once in 18 holes. very disappointing to say the least.... doesn't anyone care anymore? where is the pride in ownership or management???? read more

This review is specifically for the banquet rooms located at this golf course. I attended my cousins small wedding and it was a perfect location for 50 guests. The decor was really cute and perfect for photos. The food was delicious and buffet style, it included a salad, bread, and chicken pesto pasta. Parking is also accessible. The event coordinator Ulysses went above and beyond to make our experience a great one and made sure to ask us if we needed anything. He even made the delicious cake that we got to eat. Overall the banquet hall was really cute and I would recommend anyone looking into hosting an event such as a wedding or quinceañera to look into this place. read more

Just finished playing chino creek in the Pepsi tour and the course is in fine shape. Greens are rolling true, fairways are in great shape and sure there are some bumps off the fairway but what do u expect for $40. Staff is super friendly especially Linda in the bar. Heard they have a customer day on wed the 13th $20 includes green fee cart and beer, can't go wrong if u play chino creek! read more

Played the Chino Creek course today. The driving range was set so you couldn't see the distance markers so you couldn't tell how far your warm up shots were going. Most of the fairways had very thin cover with dirt in spots. What coverage existed was a combination of grass and weeds. The rough was frequently just dirt. Fairways were narrow and greens were small. Greens were very bumpy and slow. Looks like the tires from the mowers produced the bumps not recent aeration. Traps were raked but wet and muddy frequently. Oh and you have to listen to the nearby gun range and worry about the high tension lines that criss cross the course. Plus lots of forced carries over a creek and ponds. If it was in great shape it might be fun. As it is I'll never go back. read more

I've played this course (the Butterfield stage) several times since the onset of the pandemic. The grass driving range & open practice facilities make the trip worthwhile. During the weekends the course is pretty crowded but getting a tee time is pretty easy if you plan far enough in advance. As far as the course, it is moderately challenging but with good tee shots you will have opportunities to score. The Butterfield stage appears to be a fan favorite so to speak so the pace of play on the weekends is usually slow. On average a foursome can complete play in 3 and a half hours on a weekend. Even though play is a little slow, I always have a great Time so I will be a repeat customer for into the future! read more

Played the course mid January 2024. As far as the course, it was fun, and breakfast was good and fair priced. If you are thinking about playing this course, here's something to keep in mind. If there is a frost warning, be careful. There was a frost warning the morning we played and we had to pay a full round even though we only played 15 holes. We were a foursome and as they pack people together one of our players had to bow out the whole round so we could keep pace. When I went to clubhouse after to try and get back $42 for the round and $46 for the club rental that we didn't use, they couldn't help and gave me the manager's number and email 'as he was busy at the moment'. I left messages with him numerous times as well as an email over the next month with no response. I figured they would refund us for services not used but that's not the case. Just be careful in this situation. I'm writing this review as it appears one of the ways they make money is by practices like this. Take advantage of how players are already there and wanting to play by making them pay for full rounds and services players sometimes can't use because the pace is so fast. read more

Played this past Saturday, 4/4/15. Fairways were good. Greens were a little bumpy several holes but no surprises with putting lines. Per greenskeeper.org the Butterfield Course (which we played) was punched 3/16 - 3/19. There is the occasional wafting of cow feces but not a major nuisance. One minor annoyance was the number of flies but again, manageable. I would bring OFF or some sort of other repellant if you are neurotic. Our 3-some teed-off ~1115am and finished in just under 4.5 hours. We took our time; no groups in front or behind us. Perhaps groups got off-track due to the relatively confusing layout and signage but I'm not complaining. I'll be back for the value and pace-of-play. read more

Can't beat the weekday golf prices here! Especially when you are walking to play. They have two courses and both of them are $28 for regular tee times. Butterfield course is more wide open for variety of players from beginners to advanced players. Chino Creek course is more narrow and good for intermediate players to advanced players. All the staffs are very friendly and they always try their best to accommodate you. Many of the golf courses are now in horrible condition and over priced but here they haven't raised their price like others. I think they raised about $2 since golf boom during pandemic.... Butterfield course is better to walk because it's more of flat course. Chino Creek, you have to go up and down because it has several holes that are elevated and some downhills. I always thought they can do so much better by fixing their cart paths but if they do then the price wouldn't be the same. A lot of golf courses these days don't have cart girls driving around selling beverages during weekdays but they do. They also have a practice range where you can hit balls on the grass not synthetic mats. Only negative thing about this place is that practice range doesn't have canopies or covers. It will be a big plus if they have some shades. Keep up the good work everyone! Hope to play here for long time. read more

The last time I played here we paid $20 per person for unlimited golf with a cart! Golf heaven :D We were a twosome and tee'd off before 10AM so our pace of play was solid. You're in Chino. It's going to smell. Get over it. I have no complaints about the condition of the course itself. No one coming here to play a round of golf is a professional or playing for anything besides practice and fun. Chill out. The balls on their greens did seem to roll for days though and the dirt cart paths weren't my favorite. Still, any Monday spent playing 36 holes of golf is a Monday very well spent!! Good driving range, great course. Butterfield Course provides the opportunity to give a majority of the clubs in your golf bag a workout. Based on smell you can't tell whether you are on a golf course or farm. Bring a set of cards or some form of entertainment to prepare for the 5 to 6 hour round. Cheapness and a kid who sells pearl balls after hole 14 for under a buck a piece always keep me coming back to Chino Creek. The worst golf course I've ever played (Butterfield Course). Here's why (in the order I encountered them): -It smells. Like cow poop. But I guess that's to be expected in Chino. -Terrible service. The old man checking us in was just plain rude and dismissive (although the young guy inside was much nicer... first impressions matter, and unfortunately, I encountered the old man first) -Janky, old carts. Mine was super jerky when accelerating and the parking brake wouldn't set half the time. -They allow 5somes here, which means very slow play. We were stuck behind a 5some... tee'd off at 11:30am and didn't finish until almost 5pm. This was on a Wednesday (granted, it was during the week between Christmas and New Year). I don't even want to imagine how long it would take to finish on a weekend. -Their "cart paths" are basically just dirt roads...only about 10% was actually paved. This is especially annoying when you're the 2nd cart following another. So much dirt gets kicked up that by the time we finished, we (and our bags) were covered in dirt/dust. -The course is next to a shooting range where they have skeet shooting, so when you're playing the back nine, you hear gunshots going off while you're trying to hit your ball. -There's a power line that runs directly over the woman's tee box on (I think) Hole #12. You could literally hear the electricity crackling above you, which is both distracting and disturbing. -Golf is a game of etiquette, but it doesn't seem like the golfers who play here exhibit that, nor do the marshals enforce it. Maybe we just happened to be unlucky, but there was a group of young guys who were initially behind us that kept cutting in front of groups to play on an open hole because they didn't care to wait their turn at each hole, messing it up for everyone else. Overall, the worst golf experience ever. Even at $15 on Golf Now, it's not worth it. Won't ever be back, and would caution others to avoid as well. read more

I was at El Prado for my sisters wedding. A few guests arrived early and went to grab a drink at the El Prado Cafe. I realize it's a gold course but...if its adjacent to the banquet rooms ownership should take a bit more pride in the cafe appearance...especially if guests r waiting to enter an event like a WEDDING!! The chairs were sticky and greasy...it was really an awful experience sitting in there for 2 painful hours! The blonde waitress was very gracious and sweet. She doesn't belong there! Please invest and make your bar/food area more appealing to wedding/banquet guests. I was so embarrassed of the place...I get it...boys hang out after golf but when if u have banquets facilities next door over...the cafe is really not appealing at all...very dirty and uninviting. read more

I played El Prado chino creek course last weekend for the first time. This course was awesome! Great condition! Course play was moderate, pace of play was outstanding for a Sunday afternoon. The staff was awesome and friendly, the bar cart girl was a beautiful sweetheart, she was very helpful and attentive! First impressions are everything and my first impression of this amazing course was outstanding and I will definitely make the long journey back out there to play this course again and again! 36 hole course. Chino course is more challenging than Butterfield course. Butterfield is fairly flat and straight (great for beginners) while Chino is curved and hilly. One big challenge is that it can get windy on both courses. Greens and fairways are taken good care of by staff. Play can be slow out here because their are lots of beginners. But it's fine, I was there once too. Prices are great especially during twilight. read more

I can't believe the course ratings. Rated more difficult than lost canyons?! No elevation changes, no ravines. Just plain vanilla golf. Also, just as another reviewer mentioned, TONS of gnats/bugs. Literally flying into your eyes, mouth and clothes. It was disgusting. My shirt must have had about 20 bugs each time we drove to a hole. The course was in decent shape, but other than that, that's all. This golf course is not bad if you are on a budget. A buddy and me played 18-holes during peak hours for only $25.00 including a cart. El Prado has two courses - Butterfield Ranch and Chino Creek. We played Butterfield Ranch because they were aerating the greens and seeding the fairways on the other course. Butterfield Ranch is not difficult and is rather flat and wide open. The only real complaints I had was on certain holes, the tee boxes could use some more maintenance. We didn't know if we were teeing off in the rough! The bunkers need some TLC. There was hardly any sand and mostly small rocks. Most of the fairways were maintained nicely and most of the greens were nice. On a positive note, the snack bar is not bad at all. There is a special each day and if you sign up on their email list, you can receive special discounts off green fees. Overall, I would play this course again. The folks are friendly and the pace is nice. Parking is good and this course is easy to find. read more

Have visited El Prado several times now, and have played both courses. Chino Creek is the more popular of the two. More often than not, you can find good deals for the Butterfield course. The smells in summer are worse than other seasons. And yes, you get to enjoy the musical styling from a gun range nearby. Furthermore, watch where you step, lots of gopher holes around the greens that are near holes 3, 8, 9 and 18. And even some rough areas on other holes... Layout is wide open. Not much elevation change. Good for beginners. And now there's signage for hole directions. Played (Butterfield) this weekend, for $25 per player with cart... The greens were just aerified, we chalked it up to good practice. read more

Chino Creek Course: Since 25 bucks this month for weekdays, took an early round here. Frost delay till about 7:25am, but they put me out first and finished in under 2.5 hours. Greens are nice, besides ball marks here and there. Fairways have big portions roped off and some areas being repaired. Sand was great in some spots and packed densley in some others. I had a few bunkers to check it out at. Tee boxes were average for your typical muni course. Fun little layout, and while pretty cold in the morning, gotta love the nice speed of no one in front of you. Think I got time to play again right now :) Butterfield Course: This is your very average muni course. Starter said he'd get me right out, after about 30 minutes I asked again and he said they have no carts left. Told him again I was walking, and he said to hurry to the tee box, and try to join the group that just teed off. Fairways are green, yellow, and brown. Good grass, dead grass, and dirt patches. Greens were bumpy. Smell of cows were here and there. Not too difficult a layout, although was windy and cold, which made it hard to swing with frozen hands. This is a course to play for locals, as I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. read more

It's a good place to work on your game for a cheap price, but don't expect anything. The check in procedure is a joke, the carts are terrible, and the bunker are the worst I've ever seen. The tee boxes are actually in decent shape and the fairways are also in decent shape. 20 bucks for a super twilight with a cart isn't bad. The course layout is actually pretty good, with two different challenging courses available. The wind blows in the afternoon so be prepared to choose your club wisely. El Prado is 2 golf courses: Chino Creek and Butterfield stage. Butterfield is flatter and easier, Chino Creek is more challenging, though neither is killingly difficult. They used to be surrounded by dairies, but those are gone now and new construction is all around. Green conditions are excellent, fairways are good though the summer heat makes brown patches. Value for your money is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Much cheaper than anything in Orange County! Prado is not a country club, but is a good round of golf for the average player. Has an active junior golf program. read more

Good facilities, nice driving range, great courses! This golf club has everything you need to have yourself a day of golf. The driving range goes back about 300 yards and is on grass and so you can tee the ball or hit it off the grass with your irons. There are two full 18 hole courses that are easy, clean, and have flat greens. Great courses for players starting out to experienced. I will be definitely be going back here. 9/10 read more

We played Butterfield Stage course, first time here. Pace of play was outstanding. 4hours 1st tee shot to last putt. And they started us on-time, too. I don't know if it was just a light day or if they really manage so well that it doesn't bog down. They seemed very efficient in the pro shop. The course itself was fine, but not great. Certainly not worth the $52 green fee. Tee boxes were good with Blue, White, Red and Orange (or Gold) tees. Greens were well maintained, not a lot of blemishes and ran at a reasonable speed. They were fairly large and mostly flat. Fairways were somewhat hit or miss. Sometimes a bit scruffy, often brown, however, they were well manicured, so at least the long grass was always off to the sides. Bunkers were plentiful and moderately difficult. The sand, though, wasn't as fluffy as I've seen at the better "muni" courses. They do have an all-grass driving range. Would I come back? Not for $52. At $20 to $30, I'd definitely try it again. Particularly if the quick pace of play is the rule, not the exception. read more

I really enjoy the Chino creekside course, but with my sons the Butterfield stage is a good course for Junior golfers. Speaking of Jr golf both my sons took lessons here with Instructor Rick Hunter one of the top 50 golf instructors for US Kids he runs an awesome program that reminds me of the NFL combine works with balance, focus, and other skills to develop a great golf swing and love for the game. read more

Full disclosure: my buddies and I came to play foot golf, because I saw a Groupon for it, and it sounded fun. The concept of foot golf is great, but it's played across fairways and rough alike, with no real green to speak of. Fairway would be good enough for foot golf putting, except El Prado's fairways are not even in very good shape, forget about the rough. Also, it's pretty clear they don't really care about providing services or a good experience for foot golfers--maybe they just don't get enough of them to feel like it's worth going to the trouble. Foot golf tee times start after 2 and run til 6ish. Our tee time was 5:20, and the snack bar, clubhouse, pretty much everything but the cash register was already shut down and even the service at the register left a lot to be desired. read more

El Prado has the best driving range I've been to in Southern California ! You are always hitting off grass that is manicured like a fairway, or first cut. The next thing they do well is move the hitting area forward and back over about a 50 yard distance day to day so the grass has a consistent chance to heal for 7-10 days between uses! The last thing I will say is not only do they have competitive prices for golf and range balls, they have a range loyalty program that gives 10 large 110 ball buckets for only $75! That's $7.50 per large bucket and you're always hitting off grass instead of mats. I would like to commend the staff and ownership of el prado as well.
