If you are not a serious golfer, who knows at least how to conduct yourself on the golf course and shoot at least bogey golf this is NOT the course for you! We were behind a foursome of goofballs that had no business being on this course, and that wasn't due specifically to their abilities only, but rather their lack of etiquette and understanding in maintaining pace of play. They were driving their golf carts literally a few feet away from the tee box on some holes and alternating between the blue tees and the white tees. A course, like this needs to have Marshalls maintaining the pace of play. I would highly recommend that management monitor play frequently and ensure that all players particularly the less skilled ones are maintaining their pace of play and if they feel they can't play at the right pace then they should probably play at a lesser challenging course. Again, I love the course but we're talking about nonsense behavior adding at least 30 to 45 minutes of extra time!

I have to ding one star because on my very first visit, I asked the staff at the bar counter where I should check in letting them kno it was our first time. A bartender who looked extremely annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with the 2 other staff (who were all standing around shooting the shit not helping other people, mind you) without a word, pointed to her left, and gave me the stink eye. Luckily one of the boys was helpful and could actually use his words. What ever happened to customer service? Other than that, we had a good time playing. The views are amazing, the other players were friendly, and the facility was very well kept. Hopefully, this was a one-off and next time I will encounter wait staff that actually take hospitality seriously.

The course looks amazing! The course is looking healthy and green! Tip of the cap to the superintendent and grounds keepers! U can see all the effort being put into the development of this course and it has become a great course to work on things! Prices r high, but when u see ur dollar being put back into the course u cant help but be okay with green fees! Wish they'd consider getting on the Youth on Course program again...my son and I love to play, but he isn't at that level where I want to spend those green fees on his game! Either way this course continues to improve each season! I love the fact that they have a league play opportunity and I am strongly considering joining the league! Continue the positive improvements! While I was not present, I am sharing my concern based on what my son and his group described. They reported feeling unwelcome from the moment they arrived, with staff interactions that came across as rude and condescending toward their inexperience. They also shared that the experience became increasingly uncomfortable throughout the round, to the point where they were unable to complete their 18 holes. What is especially concerning is that they were not the only guests who felt this way that day. Others reportedly expressed similar concerns regarding staff behavior and treatment of patrons. Regardless of skill level or experience, guests should feel respected and treated fairly. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future visitors.

Through Jose, I briefly worked with AJ - the head golf pro; again, standup guy. After working with them two, I was introduced to Ian, the operations manager. Ian helped get things set up for our scramble (closest to the pin marker, longest drive) and got us all squared away with carts, range balls, the whole 9 yards. Cant say enough good things about the gents here at Green River. Everyone had a blast - and I enjoyed it more, because these guys made it so easy. Thanks for the wonderful time gentlemen! I had made it a New Year's resolution to take golf lessons and found Sonny through the PGA's Get Golf Ready program to introduce people to the game. He was great at explaining everything from stance to club grip and had a ton of useful drills that I could use to practice on my own. After the month was finished, I continued with lessons once a week for two more months at the Newport Beach Golf Club. My long game needed work (I couldn't hit too far originally), but saw improvement after our training to the point that I was ready for a game (which was my goal). We did two games as lessons where we went over all the rules, golf etiquette, club selections, etc. He always had the answers to my questions and had various ways to help with learning (filming by video, personalized drills, etc.). He even helped me figure out which golf clubs to buy in my Craigslist search. Throughout all this, he was always patient and encouraging and knew exactly what I need to fix to get the result I was looking for. Super happy now that I can play golf with a solid performance - Sonny is highly recommended whether you are just learning or looking to improve your game!

I asked for rates on group lessons. I sent an email back requesting additional information and its been over a week and no response. I guess Sonny is way too busy to take on new students. Or maybe he should just list his rates online if he doesn't want to be bothered with these questions. Anyways, I was unable to take a lessons because I couldn't even get pricing from him. There are 2 other instructors at this location so I will be reaching out to them.
