Shopping at Verduras Frescas quickly became a part of my breakfast ritual - I would get two peaches - one for breakfast in the morning and one for a snack in the afternoon, and sometimes a medio kilo of firm, juicy cherries. There were also some very unusual tropical-looking fruits, indigenous to Valencia. Although I did not purchase any (they were a little expensive), the shopkeeper assured me that they were fresh and of top-notch quality. Of the various verdulerías I had visited, Verduras Frescas appeared to have the best selection and quality in the area. It was a fantastic find and I will be sure to visit their other outposts while living in Northern Spain.
