Culture is seeping out of every corner, and the rustic vibe and images truly make the atmosphere part of the dining experience. Lalo greeted us at the door right away and was just spectacular throughout the entire meal. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. His care and attention really heightened the whole evening for us. Before our main course, we were surprised with a complementary appetizer dish that was out of this world! It came with small empanadas, sopes, fresco cheese with beet jelly, garlic butter, nut bread, orange with worm salt, and a tomato cream cheese spread. I honestly couldn't believe all of that was on the house. For our main dishes, we ordered the Chile en Nogada and the Metztli. Neither disappointed! Both the nogada sauce and the black mole were addictive and perfectly executed. We finished with the Cetli (the Mexican sweet corn cake) for dessert, and the chocolate Kahlúa sauce tied everything together beautifully. Yes, this place is a bit pricey, but it is worth it from beginning to end. They even include a mazapán with your bill, which is such a sweet touch. I won't hesitate to come back!

This is really two restaurants with two menus. One is Mexican food and the other is pizza and pasta. The wife had guacamole and fish tacos and said both were outstanding. Best fish tacos she ever had. So fresh, not a hint of fishiness. The accompanying salsas were excellent too. Guacamole was very well seasoned. I was in the mood for something simple so I had the 4 cheese pizza (almonte queso) and it was excellent. The crust was fresh and light. The cheese was good quality and very tasty. Really good pizza and especially so in an area not known for Italian food. Service was good, bathrooms were clean, and I have no complaints at all. I would go here again if I ever visit Tulum another time.

I love the fact that all of the restaurants and bars in this area are open until 2am even mid week…read more My friends and I came here after leaving a bar, super hungry and wanting another cocktail. There were 4 of us and their tables are super small. So a table that is suppose to seat 4 really can only seat 2 comfortably allowing room for food and drink. We asked to push 2 tables together and after a bit of resistance they finally obliged. My friends all had pizza which was very fresh. I had the penne w/ salmon which was also fresh and very tasty. As our drinks we all had Caipirinhas, wasn't strong at all. Very lemonade like. My biggest gripe was the conversion rate. I couldn't understand why their conversion to USD was a different rate from a bar I had just been to down the street. Alleviate the nuisance and change your dollars to pesos.

I stopped by One Tulum late in the evening with my wife for a late night snack. I was expecting to…read moreorder a pizza since they say they're a pizza shop, but was drawn to their tapas menu. I ordered the pork and octopus skewers, and the wife and I shared their apple cheese pie The skewers were fantastic and both were placed on a bed of a well thought out vegetable accompaniment. The pork on pickled onions, kind of like a different spin on poc chuc (Yucatan style pork chops), was not overcooked and lightly seasoned. The octopus tentacles on roasted potatoes, were surprisingly thick but they managed somehow to keep them from being overly rubbery. They were drizzled with a tangy sauce. The cheese pie was decadent and very tasty. It was like a fluffier deconstructed cheese cake. One Tulum has a more contemporary look than most of the other restaurants on the main drag in Tulum. This isn't necessarily a good or bad thing for me, but if it makes you feel a little comfortable, then this may be an additional plus. The service was superb.

The restaurant had a cute decor and had both the options of more traditional meals, tapas, and Mexican food. We ordered a delicious guacamole (traditional, with chunky pieces of ripe avocado, onion tomatoes, cilantro) and got what appeared to be freshly baked bread with a garlic sauce that was to die for for free! We were basically full before our food even came. We ordered the fish and chicken main dishes, and requested both with mashed potatoes and veggies. The veggies were great esp with the garlic sauce they provided for the bread and the chicken and fish were also very well seasoned and prepared. Not a huge fan of the mashed potatoes which was ironically why I picked the dish but the rest of the meal was so yummy we didn't care!
