Not too sure if I would return to this restaurant again ..... Eating a delicious authentic Oaxacan dish is just as important as its presentation, portioning, temperature and price. For some unknown reason - only 7 in our group - our dishes arrived at our table approximately 50 minutes later. I had factored the amount of people that were already inside the restaurant eating versus the ones that were still waiting for their order to arrive. In this case, I only saw one table of two persons still waiting. I usually give a grace period of 30 to 40 minutes depending on party size and types of orders that were being placed. Nothing we ordered seemed to be complicated, including drinks. To add more fuel to the fire, my friend's order, was missed somehow. She had reminded the our server once. We didn't get his name, but he was a short, older gray haired gentleman. I only noticed two servers roaming around the restaurant and a female hostess. My friend's order arrived approximately 12 minutes later after ours. Her order was similar to mine but with an additional ingredient, chicken mole. In fact, the majority of us ordered basic dishes. We all had to try their Tlayuda dish. It resembled a pizza pie on a large crunchy tortilla chip. The taste for me, overall, was on the salty side. The meat alone had zero flavor. It's as if the meat was cooked and thrown on the dish afterwards without any seasoning. The restaurant had nice post "all souls day" decor. The dead flowers on the tables should have been thrown away. No one wants to see dead flowers. The hostess was pleasant and welcoming. For the most part, we were all satisfied with our meal... very full. Side note, we never complained to the manager about our very late meal arrival and the order that was missed. I thought for sure our server would give my friend some kind of discount. None. Our server was not very attentive and he lacked basic server communication skills (our group even spoke Spanish). He also did not accept fault for missing my friend's order. Zero accountability, no apologies. Actually, he acted lame hoping the issue was just go away. Not a terrible terrible experience, however, El Sabor de Oaxaca did not pull through for us last night

Sorry I missed some photos! I was super hungry after walking from my cruise ship! The margaritas were awesome! The mole flight was a wonderful way to try some varieties and see what my husband liked. Service was amazing!

English version of the menu. Food was so good we forgot to take pictures!

Excellent service and amazing Oaxacan dishes here! We started with a guacamole, chips and 2 incredible salsas. My husband had a chicken mole and I had a fish cooked in a garlic butter sauce. Want to go back, but our stay here is short this time. Will be back!!!

I looked at reviews before coming here and I ws really excited about this place. We had breakfast the last 3 days in Huatulco and let me tell you, I wish I had breakfast here all 7 days we were I. This beautiful city. Waking in here feels like you are at home, the food is amazing, the enmoladas and huevos huatulqueños are to die for. Even the silverware was so pretty and authentic. The service is excelente and quick, all their personal is really nice. I would love to come back just to try their food again. Honestly, the prices are great but the food is totally amazing!

This restaurant is a good option if you are in Huatulco. Interior is very nice, feels like you are in someone's house. Staff was very nice. We came here twice during our trip, and ordered the mole flight, chilaquiles, and enfrijoladas. The quesillo is also delicious. I did have better chilaquiles elsewhere so I won't say it was my favorite restaurant but a very good option!!

    Chilli rellenos and tlayuda

The chilli relleno was amazing but the tlayuda wasn't, had no flavour but could have been our choice as we asked the waiter for his recommendation, just beans, lettuce and Oaxacan cheese, needed something more. Fast and good service. Would go back for something else next time.

    Inside the restaurant

In the heart of Crucecita, this restaurant was 10 minutes by taxi from our hotel Las Brisas. We wanted to experience an authentic Oaxan kitchen. This experience met our quest and exceeded our expectations. The Jamaica margarita with mezcal was absolutely refreshing. The 4 mole sample with Oaxaca's cheese and tortillas was a good way to sample mole. Negro, rojo, amarillo, and verde. If you order this you won't want to order one of the mole plates. We also ordered tacos rolled and fried in the form of taquitos and served with lettuce and sour cream. We also ordered the Oaxcan salad which was a plate of sliced tomatoes and Oaxaca cheese with tortillas. Much like a Mexican version of an Italian caprese salad. This is meant for sharing. Don't order this as an entree salad. See my photo on why. We wanted to come back the next night but we were lured away by a fabulous Italian restaurant, Tavoli that made their own pasta. The owner is Tuscan. All of the dishes were authentically Italian . Try Tavoli too. Save your money and do not go to Rustica. It's a beautiful view of the ocean but the wine list is very limited to four wines between white and red and for the dish you're served, it's expensive.

This spot has awesome food. From the the mole samples to the consomé de pollo. Delicioso. Tlayudas are delish. Recommend 100%.

Traditional delicious Oaxacan mole! Everything we got was tasty. Good service and very accessible to tourists.

3.7, the place itself is very nice and the service was outstanding. My favorite part of what we dined was the traditional quesillo, they served it with two salsas and from all the places I ate in Oaxaca this was the most original Oaxacan cheese I had. I had tasajo encebollado for dinner which is their typical meat with grilled onions-reminded me of my grandmother's cooking but the meat was not very tender. Same with the arrachera, not tender and somewhat dry. For being rated as one of the best restaurants in Huatulco I was definitely not impressed with their food, maybe if I had ordered something different my rating would be higher. I would be back if I was in Huatulco again to give this place another try.

This restaurant is delicious! We ordered the platter for two:mole, Chile relleno and steak. You MUST try the ice cream, I had the pineapple, orange and coconut. I had to come back because the ice creams were so good. Definitely a place to visit

Great food and great service. AC was a welcome addition. Best chicken and mole we've had so far in Mexico.
