The Bar had a long list of special Gins one could order. I went with the gin fizz because I wanted something fresh and sweet! It was amazing! I think there was about twice the amount of alcohol then in a normal drink, might have been just because the bartender was so friendly and we were first there for the gig that night! I found Palau Dalmases via EventBrite and make the reservation in advance to make sure I had a seat for my final night in Barcelona. Palau Dalmases is located near Museo Picasso which I had visited earlier that week so I felt very good being able to confidently navigate the crowded streets in search of my destination. When I stepped across the threshold I felt transported to a different time and place. The outer courtyard is charming and the staff was friendly and engaging. After taking little time to admire the architecture, I was shown quickly to my front row seat and provided with a complimentary drink which was a very nice touch. The lights dimmed and the show began with the musicians setting the atmosphere in the small and intimate space. The closest thing I can compare it to in my experience is an invocation of the spirit that one might experience in church. The cantaor (singer) and the tocaor (guitar player) drew me in from the start. By the time the Baile began I was lost in the experience. In this space their was a mixing and meeting of cultures that was so beautiful it reminded me that we humans are capable of coming together making something beautiful and meaningful when we set aside things that divide us. I can not compare this performance to other flamenco performances yet but I appreciate that this was my introduction. If you are looking for something that can be family friendly or if you are in it for a solo or couples experience I would recommend checking this out.

It wasn't too hard to find. The line seemed a bit long for that time of morning but moved very quickly. There area several different seating areas and types of seating. It offered premade sandwiches that could be eaten cold or heated in the panini press. European breakfast meats and cheeses. A large variety of pastries and donuts. Fresh fruit, two quiches and several juice and coffee choices. Restrooms were clean. Would easily use this lounge again.

There still was a line to get upstairs. Staff accommodated us with a table that had a view. A lot of young people purchased soda or 6£ drafts, No one ordered dinner, everyone was given spicy bar snacks. All were chain smoking & there were clouds of smoke on all sides of us. By at 8:00 the rooftop emptied. We shared a 30€ sangria & expensive ham & cheese sandwich with 4 fries. Our order was lost and then took a half an hour to get our sandwich. The sangria was tasty we had a glass and a half each but there wasn't much alcohol in it. This was the most expensive bill we had in Barcelona & it wasn't a meal. We realize we are paying for the view & sunset.
