I need this teletransport machine to start working now. Also, instead of making mars a place to live in, why don't we focus on teletransportation methods first? I passed and saw pastries outside and I went in thinking I would find giant merengues and instead I saw these cute pockets of your classic Argentinian delight...the salty kind... the empanada. This is solely based on empanadas. I got pollo and carne to go. Cold so I could heat them up in the toasted oven for 12 minutes since they were in the fridge overnight. I didn't know what to expect because I have had my share of empanadas here....and they were all good but all so different. Deep fried, baked, half circle, giant dumpling oval shaped, twisted, crimped, and the fillings can be minced, ground, no raisins, yes raisins, no hard boiled egg, or yes w a hard boiled egg, etc...
In conclusion...and I am sure that there may be other places that also have these empanadas....but if you are in this area...
GO IIIIIIIN and get a beef empanada and a chicken empanada. It is my second to last day here and I am going to make sure I get these particular empanadas w me. The meat is cut to the perfect size and it is also seasoned for a baked good. It's not a taco filling, it's not pasty, it is chicken stew cut up small (not shredded) without the stew veggies and slightly saucy so it hubs the chicken but doesn't make the pastry soggy. The pastry itself is thin yet compact and doesn't fall apart at all! The beef is the same...the beef is seasoned like a mild spring beef stew. The secret here is the empanadas. GO adventure Buenos Aires and make sure to stop here.
120 pesos for two. The exchange rate is I think 1:50. So the two empanadas cost about $1.10 each. Ca. Jan 2019 read more
