El Tap is one of the good restaurants in Calle Roteros, still in the historical neighbourhood ¨el carmen¨ of Valencia but not as touristic as the restaurants in Calle Caballeros.
The restaurant is owned by 2 brothers, they were very kind explaining the dishes and advising the wine. They have different wines that you can order by glass. We started with some vermouth and a Spritz. I did not think there was enough aperol in my Spritz so I asked for more, this was not a problem at all, so good start! We where not sure to sit outside or inside, we choose outside but when it got a bit cold we asked to go inside, also this was not a problem.
The portions are designed to be shared. We had the sardines lasagne which was roasted vegetables with sardines, surprising. The steak tartar was good although I did not like the ginger, this was nicely on the side. The Duck cannelloni was amazing, very flavourful. The presentation of all dishes was lovely. The surrounding was simple but pleasant.
We did not have any space left to eat the Pulpo (octopus) but the owner told us about a good place to eat this in Galicia, where we are going soon... read more
