We ate here while part of a tour group from the Carnival Valor. The food was pretty good, our waiters were attentive and funny. Spoke pretty good English. The only annoying part was the constant street vendors strolling into the outdoor seating and harassing you to buy their knock off items. Would eat there again....

    Beer on the beach!

This place has a covered seating area on the beach very close to the pier that takes you out to the Carnival Cruise Lines. We took the free shuttle from the Valor and it dropped us off a block away. We [the boys] made it through the maze of vendors and right to Eladio's. We sat down and had some beers for about $3 a beer. Included Corona's [yuk], Modelo, Pacifico and various others. So when they asked us to sit down, they said they would bring us out some free appetizers. I never expected the 7 to 9 plates they brought out: little hot dogs in tomato sauce, the tamale in the banana leaf, an egg that was wrapped in a "masa" with pumpkin seeds in a sauce, abalone, ceviche and so much more. The service was great and they kept coming out to check on us. Never rushed us out. The girls showed up about an hour later with bags and coconuts. They ordered mango margarita's, mojitos, and a strawberry mango daiquiri that my daughter loved. The girls did complain of that they had very little liquor and I tasted them and had to agree. They were good but you could not taste the alcohol [but they wouldn't get beers]. When the girls got there, out come more appetizer plates. We did order a queso fundido with tortillas. We had a great time sitting here under the cover from the sun and had a great breeze for several hours. The whole bill for 7 of us with drinks and the queso was about $60. That was a great deal.

This bar/restaurant sits along the beach in Progreso, Yucantan, which is about 20 minutes from Merida. Parking was found on the street, which can be a challenge at times. We lucked out, and found parking right away on a nearby street. We walked up to the front of this busy restaurant, and got an outside table on the beach. We sat under the canopy and enjoyed a variety of dishes local to Yucatan. I don't remember the name of all of them, but check out my pics for reference. The staff here was friendly. Service was slow, but that is understandable due to how busy it was that day. It was an overall great experience in cultural immersion. This place is a must, come check it out.

We ate here while we were in Progreso for lunch. Server were friendly and the restaurant was clean we sit inside with a nice breeze coming through the building. It is located right on the beach. I order some kinda of Nachos and my wife order enchiladas ( they were filled with boiled eggs), both plates were tasty. FYI you can't read or speak Spanish you will have a difficult time with menu.

If you are just in town for a short visit off the boat come to Eladio's. The drinks are delicious and the servers are great. They bring you all kinds of appetizers to try. Best place to relax while visiting. Our server fed a group of 8 of us on just appetizers.

Not good. And sloppy looking. Not really close to the menu pic.

Excellent location. Awful food. We ordered Papadzules to try something new. Had to send them back to have the sausage topping that was in the description. Friendly service but slow. In my opinion this place is ok for drinking, not for eating.

We made a mistake of coming here when there was a cruise ship in port as the place was totally packed. Ordered some beers and tequila and were quickly brought out multiple plates of free botanas. After the second round of drink and more botanas we were so full we didn't need eat for the rest of the day

The Bars and Restaurants have tables on the street in a sidewalk cafe type setting. I have been stopping here on every trip to Progresso. The immediate place as you enter the street area, is Panco Villa Restaurant. You are greeted offer a menu along with the cost of the beverages, Margaritas 2 for $5 or beer for $1. I must say, the margaritas are made traditional, squeezed lime, triple sec, bar syrup, and tequila and in a real glass, not a plastic cup. I had several items to eat, one was the shrimp cocktail, Mexican style, very delicious and then I had the Devil Shrimp, sometimes referred to as Camarones el Diablo. They will prepare to any degree of heat that you want. So, if you are cruising through Progresso, give this place a stop for food or just a drink. Ask for Sergio.
