Our stop here was part of a tour to Mayan Ruins. The bar is located on a public beach with a tiki bar. We were served margaritas and Corina beer with chips and salsa. Eladio's is a Mexico staple for me! Great drink menu, with a lot of different beers and different choices for various cervezas preparadas. Some of the best botanas I've had--you could fill up on those alone! Sit outside and enjoy the views of the beach and the live music as your waiter brings you round after round of botanas. By far my favourite beach bar/ restaurant in the world. That's me. The service is excellent and the sand between my toes makes me smile. Botanas are endless with the beer or beverage purchase and relaxing watching the beach goers. The menu is extensive and heavily focused on seafood. The whole fried fish of the day is a by request and comes with all the Mexican condiments including fresh tortillas. In Progreso, it's the must do for at least a beer. read more

We ate here while part of a tour group from the Carnival Valor. The food was pretty good, our waiters were attentive and funny. Spoke pretty good English. The only annoying part was the constant street vendors strolling into the outdoor seating and harassing you to buy their knock off items. Would eat there again.... read more

This place has a covered seating area on the beach very close to the pier that takes you out to the Carnival Cruise Lines. We took the free shuttle from the Valor and it dropped us off a block away. We [the boys] made it through the maze of vendors and right to Eladio's. We sat down and had some beers for about $3 a beer. Included Corona's [yuk], Modelo, Pacifico and various others. So when they asked us to sit down, they said they would bring us out some free appetizers. I never expected the 7 to 9 plates they brought out: little hot dogs in tomato sauce, the tamale in the banana leaf, an egg that was wrapped in a "masa" with pumpkin seeds in a sauce, abalone, ceviche and so much more. The service was great and they kept coming out to check on us. Never rushed us out. The girls showed up about an hour later with bags and coconuts. They ordered mango margarita's, mojitos, and a strawberry mango daiquiri that my daughter loved. The girls did complain of that they had very little liquor and I tasted them and had to agree. They were good but you could not taste the alcohol [but they wouldn't get beers]. When the girls got there, out come more appetizer plates. We did order a queso fundido with tortillas. We had a great time sitting here under the cover from the sun and had a great breeze for several hours. The whole bill for 7 of us with drinks and the queso was about $60. TOTAL GUSTO Tours took us there on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. At first people were skeptical. But then their personality exploded! There will be street sales men and women. But it was a Safe Environment, Fun Vibe (after a few drinks for some) and the host went out of their way to ensure all had a good time! read more

This bar/restaurant sits along the beach in Progreso, Yucantan, which is about 20 minutes from Merida. Parking was found on the street, which can be a challenge at times. We lucked out, and found parking right away on a nearby street. We walked up to the front of this busy restaurant, and got an outside table on the beach. We sat under the canopy and enjoyed a variety of dishes local to Yucatan. I don't remember the name of all of them, but check out my pics for reference. The staff here was friendly. Service was slow, but that is understandable due to how busy it was that day. It was an overall great experience in cultural immersion. This place is a must, come check it out. read more

We ate here while we were in Progreso for lunch. Server were friendly and the restaurant was clean we sit inside with a nice breeze coming through the building. It is located right on the beach. I order some kinda of Nachos and my wife order enchiladas ( they were filled with boiled eggs), both plates were tasty. FYI you can't read or speak Spanish you will have a difficult time with menu. read more

We made a mistake of coming here when there was a cruise ship in port as the place was totally packed. Ordered some beers and tequila and were quickly brought out multiple plates of free botanas. Mmm ok. Caters to the cruise ship people so the prices are inflated and the drinks are weak. I wish they had either more authentic or original food on the menu. The service was good. I won't go back, too many other places that are better. read more

We loved it! Very well kept restaurant and beach club- type thing. We had margaritas which were delicious and strong. We got the free snack things that they bring but they were just OK and then we felt bad for not really eating much of them - like we wasted them. But we got some tacos or something. Then we laid out on some loungers. We had laid further down the beach and were probably approached by maybe 40 vendors per hour. Here just a few. We enjoyed. Nice job Eladios! This is a popular restaurant here and they do justice to their reputation. I love to order here their coco choco which is similar to my favorite mudslide. Its nice to take note that when u get alcohol drinks they give you free snacks but you have to ask for it. They offer various types of seafoods and ceviches are also one of their specialties. read more

This restaurant is at the end of the street, right by the pier for the crew ships. A beautiful view with the soothing sound of waves breaking created wonderful ambiance. Our waiter was very patient with our 'mui poco' Spanish and brought us an English version of the menu. I had the fish, which was placed on a bed of onions, garlic & peppers, then wrapped & roasted in banana leaves.The fish was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was spot on. The serving sizes were huge. Our waiter wrapped our leftovers for us in perfect spill proof containers. A very satisfying meal & experience. read more

We ordered drinks, Michelada with mango (very seweet), Chaya with lime for my son, my husband had the same but with alcohol... while we were waiting for our meals, drinks came with "botanas" that were enough as appetizers. Godawful. Went one afternoon after the beach last week. The plantains were rubbery, like they had been briefly fried the day before, then refrigerated, then microwaved for 30 seconds. They could not have been worse. Everything else we ordered similar. Almost inedible. Then the killer, waiter hands me handwritten bill that doesn't even add up. When I tried to add it up, it was almost 100 pesos more than what we ordered. He just made up a total. When I pointed it out, he came back with the right bill. No apology or explanation. read more

One Star is probably too high but it was the lowest ranking I could give. Ordered two margaritas and shrimp tacos. Margaritas arrived within 5 minutes. Shrimp tacos, well, a different story. After 50 minutes of noticing patrons around my wife and I being served AFTER we arrived, we asked for our check. I also noticed the customers around us that were being promptly served appeared much younger than the older man with silver hair that I am. Margaritas were not great, food was oversalted and felt like a mediocre US chain restaurant....adopting the philosophy that if we we add bacon and cheese they'll love it... We didn't. We went on our first day here and it was great! The service wasn't terrific, but they were busy. The appetizers were terrific and kept coming as long as we were ordering beer. Today, we went back. First,only potatoes as appetizers, so we ordered food which was good. The only problem is that they never brought the ticket and the waiter came by and said "whole table $25.00." We knew the bill should be $10.00 less. We demanded to see a bill and once we demanded the bill (which took forever) it was the correct prices.
