I have been to several psychics before who have given specific details about my current life and provided accurate names, numbers etc but Amy could not provide any of these what so ever and said she didnt work with names. She used tarot cards but she picked the cards and only used a few cards in the whole reading. In the first 10 minutes she asked over 20 questions which took me by surprise as psychics do not normally ask questions. The questions were things like have you got a boyfriend? Do you do a degree? Should you be doing a degree? What is it you do? These were the basic things that you would hope a good psyhcic would really know. By the time I had answered these questions I was very dissapointed as she had worked out my personality and life etc. The reading continued were she was just giving me advice and telling me about her life. I paid money for a friendly chat and I told her I was not happy with her questions when she said I looked dissapointed. She said thats how she does it and people often refer to her as a councillor. I did not pay to see a councillor or sit in a room for an hour having a friendly chat with someone. I do not think Amy is malicious and perhaps she genuinly thinks shes helping people, she has probably trained how to use tarot cards but she is most certainly not pshycic. To top is off she is also doing a degree is Psychology which proves my point that she reads you from the many questions she asks. Please do not waste your money

Chapel Gallery in Ormskirk is one such place, regularly featuring art exhibitions, art clubs and contemporary craft amongst other things, all under one roof. I try to appreciate many of the pieces there, but even those I don't really 'get' I still can find interesting at times and I do think that local places like this should definitely be supported. There is also a lovely little café on site, where visitors can dine on hot and cold food as well as a range of refreshments in a comfortable and relaxing dining atmosphere, including a menu that boasts seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients and dishes. It's a great way to get to know the city and I found places I never knew existed. We booked with Manchester Confidential and met our guide outside Hanging Ditch Wine Merchants. It was an interesting evening full of dark alleys, riverside walks, churchyards and tragic love stories. Our guide pointed out buildings and areas of interest and recounted stories and local legends. We became familiar with a whole host of Manchester characters and personalities including the Manchester Mummy. There were a few unexpected surprises but I don't want to give too much away in case you're thinking of going. The walks usually last about an hour or a little longer. Wear comfortable shoes and take waterproofs just in case. It makes for an interesting evening's entertainment and is enjoyed best when rounded off with a few drinks at a local hostelry. Lily Greenwood (real name Liz) has been working and exhibiting as an artist in Manchester for over 4 years, and has gained quite a following, taking up commissions from businesses across the North West. Her paintings are priced £100 upwards, which is not a lot to pay for an original work. She's a super-friendly, lovely girl, and she'll give a lot of time over to chat if you pop in on a quiet day. As I said before, the studio really is something. Softly lit and furnished with vintage furniture that complements her works, it is obvious from the off that Liz has put a lot of thought into making the studio as lovely as possible, and that she has an eye for what really works in a room. The art (which can be found at her website) is lovely. Probably more on the girly side, which is alright by me, she paints large vividly coloured canvasses with butterflies and flowers. Some of the most lovely works have a Japanese feel to them, and I sorely wish I could afford her Irises picture! The MCC is a great place for local artists, and I highly recommend a visit to Lily Greenwood, whether you're looking to spend a few hundred on a unique piece of art, or a few quid on a lovely card for our mate's birthday, a trip to Lily Greenwood is support for a fresh young local artist, and is well worth doing if you're in the NQ.
