Well I waited until the last minute to ask her if she was free, and it turned out she was going out of town. She had also moved out of the area. Getting one's headshots done can feel scary. I was nervous going into it, but the minute I arrived all my guards came down because Thaddeus made me feel safe and secure, sexy and beautiful. He is a natural born teacher and taught me so much prior to the shoot about what was expected of me. For example, coming prepared is his number one request. When booking with Thad you're entering into a symbiotic relationship where both of you contribute. My headshot experience was unique in that what I wanted to achieve was two-fold: to get business and actor headshots (both theatrical & commercial). During our initial consultation I learned from Thad that in my case, I would be playing three roles for the shoot: the talent, artistic director, and fashion stylist. In order for me to succeed at the latter two Thad gave me a step-by-step guide: I needed to create a Pinterest board, identify outfits that inspired me, pull looks from my own closet, print inspo pictures and pair them with each of my looks, and of course hang my clothing and transport them in garment bags. It may sound like a lot of work, and it is, but it is so worth it bc Thaddeus will come just as prepared if not more with his own work completed (photography-wise) not to mention his years of experience and countless stories on the job including glamorous tales and wildly funny tribulations (the kind that enough time has passed for one to be able to laugh at them) from his time in NYC. Also, as I said, my photoshoot was unique as I was responsible for the preparations. Typically, Thaddeus is hired for major commercial shoots or fashion magazines where there are whole teams of people hired to assist. Not only did he teach me how to prepare, but Thaddeus also gave me the gift of directing me throughout my shoot. Having stepped away from the acting world to build my business experience, I felt a little rusty. My thoughts included, "Do I have what it takes? Will I still have the acting chops? Am I good, capable, or pretty enough?" The answer was yes to all. I had everything I needed inside me for the shoot to be a success and I give Thaddeus credit for bringing it out in me. Since I have begun this diatribe, I'll explain. Currently, as a 33-year-old woman, I am on a journey to know and fall in love with myself, believing in myself all on my own. And that's why my photoshoot was so powerful. Thaddeus believed in me before I did. He did so because he cares and that's evident in him contributing his art, his photography, and his good and wise nature to the world. Thaddeus' standards of excellence are so high that you will see it and feel it the moment you meet him, the moment you walk into his convivial, clean, professional photography studio you will know you're in the right place. You will rise to the level of excellence Thaddeus exudes because you won't be able to deny its surrounding power and presence. My 5 year old daughter is a total ham but tends to make a really forced smile with her eyes and cheeks all scrunched in pictures -- but Kim repeatedly captured her natural, laughing smile! And my 2.5 year old son is a hard nut to crack -- we did two photo shoots over the summer while on vacation with family and he only smiled in TWO freakin' pictures (and only then because he was throwing rocks but I digress) -- but Kim managed to coax gorgeous smiles out of him, too!!! I was truly floored when I saw these amazing photos, I cried. I can't believe it's the same kid who refused to smile just a few months ago! I booked Kim for a newborn photography session when my daughter was two weeks old. I originally did…read morenot think I would want or need newborn photos but after my little one was born, I decided I would really like a professional set of photographs to always remember this special time with her. Even though it was last minute Kim was able to fit me in within a week! Kim assured me I was not too late (I read the photos need to be in the first week) and from the start our communication was warm, friendly, and accommodating. Ahead of our session Kim sent me a very detailed layout of what to expect for the day and how to prepare. Kim is a mom herself and it is clear she understands how challenging those first few weeks are. I was so relieved when she told me not to worry too much about our clothing and she just wanted us to be comfortable and natural. Being two weeks postpartum the last thing I wanted to stress about was my appearance. Kim was extremely open to any ideas we had and invited me to send photos of my baby ahead of the scheduled photoshoot as well as any photo requests we had so she could be fully prepared for our session. Kim also made sure to let us know that she was fully vaccinated and would be wearing a mask during our session. Kim's home is beautiful and was a quick drive from the city. When we arrived, she had turned up the temperature, so the space was warm and comfortable for our daughter. It was an extremely calm and relaxed environment and she thought of everything, she had a diaper changing station set up, offered us water, and had a private room for me to feed my baby. Since we do not live close to our families Kim was one of the first people who held our daughter. She was extremely gentle and kind and did such a great job soothing her when she was fussy. In fact, she had such a great technique at getting her to settle I tried it myself when I got her home! Even with a full belly and a calm warm environment my daughter did not want to sleep during the photoshoot so posing her was not as easy since she was awake. Kim was so professional, she would gently position our baby but as soon as she walked away, she would move, often laying face down so a photo was not possible. Kim was always able to roll with the punches and quickly adjust the bedding to get her into a new pose without disturbing her. She was so warm and compassionate throughout the entire experience, telling us how great our baby was doing and how adorable she was. When we got the photos back, we were blown away. They were beautiful and she truly captured our baby's personality. Neither myself nor my husband were excited about having photos of ourselves taken but we are both so glad we did. The focus of the photos is on our daughter, but she was able to capture the love between the three of us. Kim's style is so classic and timeless I know we will be able to enjoy these photos for years to come. I am so happy I booked Kim for my baby Colette's photoshoot and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering working with her.

***Best of the Best***…read more Oh my gosh, I happened upon this local photographer and couldn't be more pleased! I saw her super cute portfolio and was in love. We were in a bind just before the holidays, and Sarah made time to squeeze us in. Her pricing was great, especially compared to other area photographers, and she was local. All bonuses in selecting a photographer. Once I met Sarah, I quickly realized that she was warm, friendly and humorous with us and our kids. Totally needed for family photos, especially if you want some photos with laughter and real life emotion. In advance, she asked us specifically what we were looking for, and on the day of the event, she was prepared with a few props (although I also brought some of my own), and she whipped it all together for a way better plan than I'd imagined. I wanted some natural setting photos, not super posed. And she got us laughing, and captured the moment. She even had some creative poses that turned out CRAZY cute. Those turned out to be my favorites. And all her photos, have become my most treasured family photography yet. She comes armed with some nice photography equipment (i'm no expert), but the lenses definitely looked pretty spectacular. When photographing us, she maneuvered quickly to capture just about every angle, and every photo came out ridiculously crisp with FABULOUS lighting, and even some delicious bokeh. We went to her, but she's mobile and will come to the location of your choice. I can't imagine a much better setting though, than her neighborhood around Bear Creek Park. Fall photos come out great with tons of leaves, and changing colors. Spring and Summer are green as green can be. All perfect for some gorgeous outdoor photos. I usually hate myself in photos, but thank goodness for Photoshop, as she did some very natural photo editing that made the photos absolute perfection. Her edited photos were super speedy in reaching my email inbox. She leverages a secure online system to provide me access to download my high resolution photos. Easy peasy! And without even requesting, she sent me a few goodies for the following holiday, to use in social media. Seriously, could she be more awesome? Who does this? Love her! When we moved here, I was totally overwhelmed with finding the right family photographer. Thankfully I found Sarah, and and from here on out, she's officially our family photographer. Then we talked about background color. After that Omayra recommended color and tone of clothes that would look great with background color we had chosen. So when we got to her studio next day everything was set up and ready and without wasting any minute we jumped straight into the fun part. Whole hour past like couple of seconds because of excitement and fun we had. Omayra had very creative approach how to engage all members of our family with the same high level of energy and enthusiasm. Kids were extremely happy and artistic and that was contagious! We needed pictures of our members for our trifold brochure, and they came out beautifully. Perfect lighting, and well posed active scenes that are very engaging.
