L ucy was very unprofessional during our communication. It would take several days for her to respond and it seemed as if she wanted me to work my availability around a trip she was taking. After sending several messages trying to find a compromise, she stopped responding. The next week she contacted me again. I expressed that I wouldn't feel comfortable with her because of her inability to communicate with me in a timely manner and her communication was lacking in professionalism. Her response was that I was not her client and therefore she didn't feel the need to get back to me as quickly. I was very confused by this, as I would never commit to a photo shoot with a photographer who isn't able to respond to me in a timely manner. This was family photo shoot that many of us were traveling to the Dallas area for. Our dates weren't flexible and it was important to me to find someone who could ensure that it would be a smooth process. All in all I felt Lucy was unable to provide time with the level of service I expect. Furthermore, after ending our conversation, she continued to harass me through text message until I asked her to stop. If you are planning to book a photographer please look elsewhere! I am not sure if this if her normal work ethic, if I had done something to offend her, or if she was having a bad week. She took my daughters sweet 16 pictures and we were both a little nervous because we had never done anything like this before and didn't know what to expect. We are really happy to have found Lucy when she was doing a shoot in Richardson at the Richardson Mercantile. We scheduled an appointment for her to do a photo shoot with the kids and we wanted the photos done outdoors. November in Texas can be dicy, but Lucy remained flexible as to where the shoot would take place all the way up to a few hours prior when we confirmed the location with her. I would definitely say if you are looking for a family photographer you should definitely stop looking and Lucy Thornton!!!! She was absolutely the best! So easy to work with kind, personable, patient and reassuring. I just recently moved to Texas and I was looking for a photographer to take my maternity pictures. I sent out a Yelp quote request and she was quick to respond, actually the first to respond! I booked 2 months in advance(I booked early because I'm pregnant and I wanted my belly to be perfect for the shoot) I am not sure if she has a preference on booking reservations but she is very flexible! Because I was so far out Lucy made a point to reach out each month and check in to see how i was doing leading up to the day of the shoot. By her doing this it made me feel comfortable and at ease and made me feel like I was not just another check. She chose a location and then gave back up options just so I was aware of my surroundings. and when I say she is flexible she absolutely is! The day before the shoot we changed location time and day just so I could feel comfortable. Being 8months pregnant walking through a busy botanical garden just wasn't ideal for me so she was able to switch day from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning to accommodate me. The day of she had a slight medical emergency and kept me up dated the whole time reassuring me when she was the one that should've been resting. Hives and all she showed up smiling and ready to work! I then had my own issues with almost fainting twice because of nerves and lack of eating prior. Even though Lucy told me to pack some water and snacks I spaced it but she was still so patient giving me time to breathe, rest and rehydrate. Lucy is very professional and directed myself and family very well. she took her time to get the right lighting which I very much appreciated because my family is multicultural and everyone in the family is a different shade/hue. And the fact that we did not share the same melanin as me AND she took her time to get the best lighting for me and my family just made me all warm and fuzzy!!! Finally what put me over the top was the turnaround on the pictures, we finished around 1130am and she had the pictures ready for the downloadable gallery by 5pm the same day!! Absolutely unbelievable she is superwoman to me and now she's going to be our family photographer for all of big moments!! I am just so happy I found her and you will be too!
