I can only share my experience with Elation at Grand West. It hasn't been pleasant, and I'm relieved this isn't the only place I applied to, or I wouldn't have a place to stay in two weeks. I was genuinely excited to move here because it's out of the way and closer to my family. Since I travel 50-75% of the month for work, I'm currently on assignment. Unfortunately, they wouldn't allow me to take a virtual tour, so I informed the agent that my sister would come view the property. She made a casual comment that it was fine, but she emphasized that they couldn't discuss my application with anyone except me. As if I had asked or wasn't aware of this. It was quite obvious, but I suppose. My sister visited the complex, and in my opinion, they weren't very friendly. I was on FaceTime with her when she arrived, exuding a cheerful disposition and explaining her purpose. The lady recognized her because I had recently emailed. My sister attempted to engage in pleasantries, but they fell flat. However, I understand that it might have been due to Mercury retrograde. They provided her with a map and instructed her on the location of the available unit. That was the extent of their interaction. They didn't mention any of the amenities or other details. My sister drove around the complex and showed me the unit. I liked it. My sister remarked, "I suppose that's it. They didn't really say anything." Despite feeling a bit uneasy, I decided to proceed with the application. I was approved, and I chose a move-in date of May 31st. I paid the reservation fee. Almost two weeks passed, and I hadn't received any updates, but I wanted to move in sooner, so I set a move-in date of May 3rd, as there was a first-floor unit available. I sent an email requesting a quote, but I didn't receive any response. I sent a follow up email a few days later, no response. I waited a few days before calling them, as it was clear that no one was following up with urgency. I spoke to someone who informed me that they could not accept my payment documents because the name on the documents did not match my name. I use an alias at work due to the remote/virtual nature of my job, and my initials actually match my name. The girl on the phone told me that they would need my bank statements or to verify my employment over the phone. I agreed to having them contact my job, as I had no issues with that. However, as the conversation progressed, she informed me that they needed both my bank statements and to contact my job. This was a clear case of mixed messages, and I couldn't help but wonder if they were just trying to make things difficult under the impression that I was providing fake documents. Despite this, I decided to let it slide and remain interested in the place and would send everything in. She kept repeating that she could not switch my unit until my information was fully verified. I understood her point, but I also felt that she needed to know my plan especially since you have to reserve the unit you wanted and I had already paid. I requested that they send me an email outlining what they needed, as no one had reached out to me. It took me contacting them for them to even acknowledge that there was a problem. After several hours, I finally received an email. Within the same hour, I sent back the requested information, along with additional details. This was two weeks ago, and I have yet to hear anything back. It is evident that these people do not want me to stay at their property, and it is even more evident that I do not desire to live in a place that lacks follow-up and treats people as if they are committing fraud. Of course, the reservation fee is non-refundable. Which is very convenient for them. If you choose to move here, good luck, but I will never apply here or recommend them to anyone. - And to be clear, income isn't close to an issue and my CAREER is with a well known company! However, I don't know if I'm approved or denied. Which is asinine for a place of business. But I'm happy to have experienced this prior to moving in. read more

I have lived here for the last year by myself and things just continue to get worse. The crime on cars is getting out of control, the theft is getting out of control , and the fact they want to raise my rent to a crazy amount is crazy ! If you are looking to move here, I caution you! I was promised an apartment to move into on July 8th, so I put a $100 reservation fee down. A few days later, I got a call that the apartment would not be ready until July 23rd, which did not work for my timeline. They offered me another apartment with the exact same floor plan, but it was $200 more a month. Since that was no longer in my budget I asked for my reservation fee back and was told it was nonrefundable. All of this happened 2 months before I would have moved in, imagine what would have happened if I would have actually moved in. UPDATE: I posted this 10 days ago and immediately got a phone call that they "spoke prematurely" and I would get a refund if I took down my review, I agreed. Such a great place to live. The area is nice, there're cops constantly around. Grocery stores are close by, it's just such a great area. Obviously im sure somethings happen that i may not be aware of. However, i live my own life minding my own business and thus far this is by far one of the best apartments and area around that i've seen in the houston area. I feel like those other bad reviews are definitely from annoying, pompous people. That evidently don't read the terms and are always in limbo blaming everyone else but themselves for their problems. I wanted to wait to post this review until I received whatever I was going to get back from my deposit, and since I just received my final "invoice", here goes: I moved in at the end of 2019. Originally, I moved into the larger of their 2 one-bedroom units. It's a bit over 800 square feet. I generally had no issues, and maintenance was quick to come if I ever needed them, which was rare. My rent was right around $1259. The unit was beautiful and spacious. I loved the layout and the gigantic kitchen island. When I got my lease renewal email, I was stunned. My rent went up $200 a month! And that was the "early bird" price! I called the office to discuss what I thought was an obvious mistake but was quickly corrected and told it was a cost-of-living increase. I checked out multiple other complexes in the surrounding areas and decided that it would be cheaper for me to stay at Elation but move into the smallest one-bedroom unit (almost 200 square feet smaller). Of course, the cost of the smallest one bedroom was now the SAME as what I was currently paying for the larger one. I was given a unit in building 9, which is right next to the dog park. Of course, it didn't occur to me that folks who own dogs would want the building right next to the dog park, so I got to listen to dogs barking constantly. But you know what? That's on me for not realizing that. Right around that same time, the front access gate stopped working and just stayed open 24/7. Really secure, right? There's my rent money hard at work. In addition, the bedroom in my new unit shared a wall with my neighbors' living room. Over the course of several months, I had to call the police many times due to the excessive noise coming from their unit. The first time, I heard the cop banging on their door. I assumed that would fix the problem. It didn't. Over and over again, I had to call them. I went to the office and told one of the staff about it and asked what I should do. I was told to continue calling the police. Oh, if only that was the end of it. More and more noise. I should take a second here to clarify one thing: I am NOT a Karen. I understand everyone makes noise. I understand there is a certain level of noise that will happen when you live in an apartment. I get it; really, I do. But I have to sleep. And when the noise is preventing sleep, it has to stop. So, I went back to the office weeks later. When the staff person asked me what unit the noise was coming from, I told her. Her response was, "Oh yeah. He's a troublemaker at the pool, too." Wait, WHAT? You know this person is a nuisance. You know this person causes trouble, and you still allow it to continue? I guess if they're paying rent, they can do what they want, right? You've made that clearly obvious. Speaking of the pool. It's GORGEOUS. Very big and always sparkling clean (The front pool, at least. I've never been to the one in the back.). However, during the summer, we received an email stating that due to complaints of excessive after-hours NOISE and unauthorized guests, the pools were going to be closing early from now on. So, you're telling me that because of a few people (whom you could EASILY identify by having after-hours maintenance monitor the pool), you're going to punish the whole complex? What kind of sense does that make? They closed the pool at 6 on weekdays and 5 on weekends after that. Again, rent money hard at work. On August 22 of this year, we also received an email stating that the gate repair would begin that week. I moved out the second week of September and never saw any gate repair happen. Another hilarious thing about email communications. On May 2, we received an email about new trash containers that were going to be left outside of everyone's door that week. The purpose of these bins was to alleviate having to put your inside trash bin outside of your door every night. No joke, those trash bins didn't show up for MONTHS. Once they did, I started having an ant problem in my unit. I requested maintenance to come out, and they closed my request saying the work had been completed, but nothing changed. At that point, it was so close to my move-out date, I didn't bother sending another maintenance request. Fast forward to a few months before my lease was up. I recently relocated offices for work, so I was going to have to move regardless of rent. I received my lease renewal email and was STUNNED. They increased rent by $200 per month AGAIN. So, for a teeny 650+ square foot, one-bedroom apartment, they want almost $1500 per month. For what? A security gate that stays open? A pool we can only use until 5pm? Noise past 10pm? If all of that sounds good to you, then you'll be right at home here. Otherwise, run. As fast as you can. As far away as you can. read more

"I truly wish there was a zero star option! This is the most horrific place that I have ever lived! If you like your lights being turnt off randomly , dog poop in the halls , a office that blames the tenants for everything, getting locked out by maintence and having to pay to get them to unlocked the door without an apology, mold in your apartment, water flooding your floors from the floor above , washer and dryer issues , and more then this is the place for you! In all honesty, the Elation should pay you every month just to live here. That's right, they should PAY YOU to live here! On the 1st of each month, there should be a direct deposit in your bank account as payment for living at the Elation. I literally was locked out by maintenance and Instructed to call a locksmith in which none could assist with getting me into my apartment. Not only that the apartments charged me 150.00 to have the maintenance tap my door with a master lock when it was there fault . I sat outside for hours with my new born because of maintenance. Did i get an apology or a call ? No ! I got a smart mouth person requesting money . I called there emergency maintenance line and guess what i did not get a response until i texted there office cell nunber . Then after I complained about the response time for that they told me i should just use the online Service request . Now i do not know about you but if i have ab emergency the fist thing im going to do is call someone not text or email someone . Especially if that is a service offered . But hey all minds do not think the same. Just another way to blame the customer. On top of this they never instructed me to use a mobil app for the key phob . Which i am very ticked off about bc if the Initially mentioned this upon move-in no one will be getting locked out of their house but of course they want their $150 fee so they kept that a secret I had to hear that from a neighbor. They let just let me pay 150.00 for their mistake. These apartments will scam you out of eveything . They will not provide the property managements information. The apartments look appealing but take a closer look . They were rushed and poorly built . You will not notice this bc you have not lived in it . Check the base boards , the plugs on the walls , the tapping and floating is incorrect. The poor paint job and more . I had mold in my apartment from them not changing the sheetrock ruining my clothes and text books and other items . I have reached out to the office multiple times about my insurance claim and here we are a month later with no response. There is so much more i can get into but i think you get the point . This place had so much promise and looked appealing on the outside, and that's why I initially decided to move here. Each and everyday I regret my decision to sign a lease here. Please, if you are reading this, RUN! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sign a lease here. Unfortunately, I am stuck in my lease until next year , but once it is up, I am flying out of here like a bat out of hell. There are much better options out there than this repugnant complex. It is 3:30am and I am up. Why!! I have been moved in for 5 days now and I wish I could move out. The process was great, and the apartment is very nice. I got a unit that had never been occupied and was so excited to move. Now that I am here I regret it. I need quiet to sleep well and the walls are paper thin. I can hear my neighbors walking (stomping it seems), when music is played the lyrics can be heard clearly, not to mention water can be heard running through the pipes is the walls, and I can hear them arguing. As nice as these are and for the price peace and quiet should come automatically. It's going to be a long year. read more

If I could rate this apartment complex a 0 I would but I can't. This is the WORST place I've ever lived at! I don't even know where to start with this place but let me just start off with the very beginning. When I first moved in back in July of 2020 I was one of the first residents to move into the community. The previous management was the best thing that happened to this place but they got bought out by this ghetto company with a horrible reputation called Venterra. The first management was so considerate and actually gave af about the residents and how the community looked. Now we are ran by these lazy money hungry leasing agents and management. There is never any bags in the trash bins to pick up after your dogs feces. So you already know what that means endless dog shit that never gets picked up! The front gate has been broken for so long I lost track and don't bother calling the front office because they don't care and all the agents stories don't match up. One will say it's because of the Texas freeze from February, the other one will say a truck ran over it, and the other one will say it's due to Covid. They do NOT care about you once you sign your lease here. This apartment complex makes over half a million dollars and more a year and they don't put any of that money back into the community. This place is infested with spider webs EVERYWHERE! There are frogs and toads that go into your home and live all over the complex! Don't get me started on the ant hills and rats because they are living here rent free! Not to forget the rattle snakes that are all over the community and can potentially kill your pets or YOU! This place was built so fast and it's starting to fall apart, you can see cracks all over your apartment walls due to how unleveled the ceiling is. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors screaming, having sex, blasting the Tv etc! The hallways and staircases are FILTHY!!! It's soooo disgusting and no matter how many times you complain the management does not give af. There is trash everywhere and alcoholic beverages left in the bushes and broken glass in the pool areas. Your children are not safe here and please do not be fooled by the illusion that this place looks nice. If you are okay with living in the ghetto this place is for you. There is no security system here and we've had multiple break ins and criminal activity here. I had to find out from a neighbor that someone brought a fire arm on the community and set it off! Can you imagine how infuriated I was?! The management couldn't even inform us... there is car break ins and no cameras anywhere. Residents are now even leaving their trunks open to make it easier for thieves to get in the car. It's so sad and this isn't even the half of it. I lived here for 18 longgggg months and this place has just went down hill and they have the audacity to raise the rent... They don't mow the grass consistently and if want to have a yard then be prepared to have random visitors looking into your windows and doing the bare minimum. They go months without mowing residents lawns but will maintain the areas where they give future residents tours. It's so saddening to see the potential this place had and to see it go down this bad. The management is the worst of it all, they don't answer emails, their excuse is the internet is down for a week. When you complain about a problem and they come to fix it they create another problem. There is missing packages and management doesn't know where they are. The locker room stays broken and you will constantly have missing mail. The gym always has people with no masks, or sanitary wipes. The people that live here are rednecks Republicans who support Donald Trump... that should tell you everything you need to know. Maintenance will come into your apartment without consent or informing you ahead of time. Complete invasion of privacy! There are random bills that they will give you and make up charges for you to pay more! Save yourself the stress and headaches and find another place to live! read more

I was one of the first to move on to Elation and I have been very happy here. The office and management staff are 5 stars! This is the best apartment complex I have lived in the last 20 years. They are about it! I've been here since January and will definitely renew. They handle business unlike some other complexes I have lived in where everything falls on deaf ears. The property is very well kept and has some bomb features. Shout out to the manger, Noreen for always handling business . The maintenance staff is great and takes care of everything quickly. I have recently moved into Elation at Grandway West and so far I have been very impressed.  The common areas around the complex are very clean and well maintained.  The gym is good size, clean, has dumbbells up to 50lbs, and a smith machine.  Beyond clean and modern facilities the staff has gone above and beyond expectations.  Specifically, Steven has met and exceeded what I expected specifically to customer service.  I have been traveling in my RV for the past couple of years and needed to move the contents into the apartment.  This process would have been very difficult had Steven not allowed me the opportunity to park the RV near my apartment temporarily.  In addition, Steven went above and beyond in almost every area to make my move-in transition as easy as possible.  From adding a carport space causing a revision to the contract to extending the lease terms he was amazing.  Moving is always stressful and having Steven representing Elation dramatically reduced the stress experienced on my end. read more

My husband and I have lived in these beautiful apartments for almost two months and we LOVE it. The amenities are great. From the cute little hammock swings by the pool to the well equipped gym!(they even have a separate room where you can do virtual classes). Also, the staff are great! They are quick to respond to any questions and concerns that we have. Jonsua helped us SO much when it came to our move in. He made sure the move in process for us was as smooth as possible. I have lived here since 2020 when it was managed by a different company (which is why there was a previous 5 star review), since new company took over this place has gone WAY down hill! We've had a truck stolen from the complex and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was done about it, even after writing the property manager about it and fixing the gates. The gates are always broken, the front entrance key pad has not worked in over a year, and the property is filthy. Want to go to the pool and relax? Forget about it, there's always a bunch of people who don't even live in the complex that go and are constantly having parties and hogging up the grills, putting the chairs in the pool and all the umbrellas are broken. We have a second pool, but that never gets cleaned. I have spoken to management multiple times about the smell of weed coming through my vents and causing my home and clothes to smell, to which they say they're going to do something about and don't. The people who mow the yards do a crappy job and leave the gates open which allows my neighbors dogs to come in my yard with my dogs who do not get along. I'm absolutely fed up! I regret ever renewing my lease and counting down the days until I can get out of here! read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. I was one of the first few residents to move in as it had just opened. The appliances are top notch and the little touches the builder included like soft closing cabinets and a back light on the bathroom vanity mirror are really nice. Maintenance was always prompt with handling any issues I had. I work long hours at the hospital and I had an issue with extremely noisy neighbors above me preventing me some sleeping in the beginning but I expressed my concern with management and they immediately spoke with them and assisted me in alleviating that situation. And it has been much better since then. The community is always hosting contests and different food trucks so that is something not all apartments do for their residents so I really enjoy that. Overall, my stay here has been good and I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a place to stay. read more

Good location, decent price, and nice/new apartments. However, if you live here, expect a good amount of crime. It seems like every month, we've gotten a letter saying there are car break ins or apartment break ins. I have personally had items on my truck stolen. My neighbor had her car stolen. Just this weekend, I had a package stolen from the mail room (have fun with that dog food). And after every event, the management staff reminds everyone that it's our fault and our responsibility to make sure these things don't happen. Instead of hiring a rent a cop over night, they make sure to tell everyone that it's not their liability. I understand that they are not liable, but if events are happening over, and over, and over, and over.... some precautions and steps taken would be nice to see. But that's too much to ask for. Great complex! Love the amenities! Love the fact that the apartments are brand new, come with a Washer and Dryer, have stainless steel up to date appliances, and have hardwood flooring!! I had the hardest time with previous apartment and management companies, I had almost given up hope. God bless Noreen! She was so patient, responded quickly, answered all my questions and made the entire process so much better. The apartments are not only, outrageously beautiful, clean and NEW, but the staff really does take care of you. They are extremely interactive and make it easy to get into contact with. The apartments are also very clean and all of my neighbors are respectful, the app allows you to interact with them as well which is something I haven't seen before but I like it! Love the complex, but of course just like everything else there's always room for improvement. I moved in loving the place but slowly started to notice that the apartments looked rushed to finish up, but nothing major just minor paint jobs. At first it took a while for my maintenance calls to be tended to but recently they have been taken care of faster which helps a ton. However, since maintenance did not warn me about coming twice, them pushing my bed to the side both times to fix the light caused the beams under my bed to break. Also recently started to notice dents in doors and walls from maintenance (guessing from their equipment). Hopefully those don't go against me once my lease is over. On the bright side, Jonsua has been incredibly helpful from the very beginning and super quick to respond to any questions and concerns, he's definitely the go to person for me. Personally wouldn't talk to anyone else but him! This complex has its minor cons, but the pros outweigh them especially for a first time renter! read more
