The floral dept in this store is horrible.. my son ordered flowers for me for Mothers Day, which I'm sure he paid an expensive price, and when they were delivered, the flowers and leaves were falling out of the vase as the lady picks them up and pushes them back in the vase. I stood there and witnessed this myself! The sunflowers looked like they just took them and shoved them in the vase and put leaves around the sides. Nothing was arranged properly. Absolutely horrible quality and i will be sure to tell my kids to never use them again! Save your money because the florists at this place have no idea on what they're doing! read more

On the most part I like Eldens. Good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits. But the last few times we have been there, they have a very rude, short tempered lady that works as the self service area. She is of no help to anyone except throwing out nasty barbs at the customers. The staff at Cub Foods in the self check out are very helpful and always cheerful and have wonderful customer relations skills. Perhaps she needs some customer relations training. Most of the staff at Elden's are pretty helpful. I always say if you work in a customer relations service and you don't like your job, perhaps you should find a different one where you don't have to work with people. read more

Bad experience. I visited here from out of town and came in to get some groceries. The lady running the self checkout was unpleasant. There were only two lanes open with it being extremely busy , so we decided to go to self checkout. She looks at our cart and says this is for 20 items or less and tells us we cannot ring up there . We wait in line for 15 minutes to finally be rung up as the self checkouts remain empty. One woman is there and it's clear she has 30 + items. We finish the transaction, leave and look at the receipt and see that we actually only had 18 items. Unreal . Never returning here read more

If you want the best and freshest produce in town come to Eldon's. Other than the farmers market where we have local produce the best freshest top-of-the-line produce comes from Eldon's in Alexandria. The staff is always knowledgeable and helpful. The meat selection is fresher than the other grocery stores. It compares to Lake Country Meats. read more

This is a mixed review. I am from Alexandria and love Elden's. Agree with all the reviews; however, I agree that there are RUDE people at self-checkout. I also agree that banning the self check outs to only 20 items is ridiculous, especially when they don't have enough check-outs open. Normally, even with a big amount of groceries, I can get through self check-out faster than waiting for large lines to get served and out. I especially hate having to wait in line when ALL self checks are open! read more

We ordered our wedding cake from Kathy in the bakery and it was fabulous! We received many compliments on the flavor of the marble cake we ordered. Kathy helped us plan a perfect cake and she worked with the flower shop, within Elden's, to add fresh flowers! We could not have been happier. read more

Fantastic Supermarket in Alex and while I do not live there, I always stop when down for grandson's hockey games and tournaments. So clean and fresh and I love the darker muted color scheme. Fresh produce is such a bonus and always excellent, and also I stock up on hard to find items that I do not have at home. The only slight miss is that they do not stock my favorite Greek yoghurt Great location and parking, and if in Alex, you can't go wrong by stocking up at Elden's. I much prefer going here for snacks and lunch and picnic items as fast food gets so boring when in towns on the hockey circuit Elden's is a real plus for the town of Alex.. read more

Very nice store. You can see the quality when you walk in...Lots of selection and friendly staff. Reminds me of a Hy-Vee if you're from a town that has them, you'll know what I mean. Nice layout and it looks super nice inside. Plus, I like the colors. read more

This market is super clean and has everything you would need or want. Pricing is a little higher than Walmart, but the quality of anything fresh is well worth it. They also "give back" with their birthday club, cash, and household-items giveaways. They remodeled & upgraded the parking lot and actually made parking spaces WIDER so patron vehicles are safer from car damages. I really like this store. read more

The two Christianson brothers Elliot and Dennis, operate this store at a level above anything else seen in this part of Minnesota in regards to quality, panache, freshness, style, showmanship, quality, yeah, I know I repeated that, but it needed repeating. As a guy I am not supposed to admit this, but I ENJOY shopping in their store. Their staff is always friendly and it not unusual to see the owners stocking shelves right alongside the help which will NEVER be seen at Pete's and obviously not at Wal-Mart. It's refreshing to see this. I really like the electronic pricing tickets on each and every item. No surprises at the checkout here. All in all, shopping at Elden's is a real treat. read more

Figured i'd give them a review for people not from here of familiar since I go here often and never receive bad service.First off the staff are always cheery, talkative and helpful. Its mostly traditional bagging with a couple of self service. Always appreciated. To me self checkout can get you out quicker in say walmart but theres times I personally very much appreciate it.Two their bakery foods and selection are one of a kind. I personally think their donuts are the best i've ever had. I don't want to go on too long describing a donut i'd just say you'd have to try one from there. Last but not least their meat selection is superb with meat from seafood, yes lobster, fish etc to lamb and everything in between. And in smaller packages which is super helpful if you're not a family of four that wants more variety then mainstream hamburger and chicken. And then theres the fresh fruit selection. Such a wide variety and the utmost freshness. Theres also plenty of weekly sales for bargain shoppers such as myself to be more then satisfied with especially when they're displayed so well inside the store. read more

Have shopped at Eldons many times, as we are residents near Glenwood Mn. Do NOT ever buy Tyson chicken livers When we opened the 2 tubs we purchased to prepare, the livers were Green. They weren't moldy externally, the liver itself was infected or diseased. We threw them all away so as not to get poisoned. Unfortunately this experience has soured our outlook at Eldons. We will NEVER buy another Tyson product again. You would be wise also to shop another brand besides Tyson. read more
