Etc They also have food booths for shrimp, hotdogs, kettle corn, clam chowder, Thai food... Etc. What I recommend is coming early so you won't have a problem with parking. You won't have a problem with finding a seat, and the lobster line will be short. Entrance fee $10 with online coupon is $9 You can buy 2 lobsters for $34 or one for $20. They do not allow outside food or drinks. You cannot bring your own chairs. Which is kind of silly because they have a picnic area. They have live bands. Some are good. They have a pirate show for the kids. And this year they had a lot of alcoholsamples for the adults. Now about the lobster. It's steamed it comes with potatoes and a side of butter. Coleslaw too! They have an area where they can cut it open for you. Less work you know. Overall I stay about 4-5 hours max. Best deal for yummy Maine lobsters!

Nevertheless when you accomplish this task of parking your ride this car show is one that is rivaled by few others. Wether you're talking about all the classic ranflas or the ocean view that is offered up by the the city otherwise known as the 110 to the end where the ghetto meets the sea. This is yet once again a classic example of why I love San Pedro. This local (free) event put on by the Legends Car Club is a shining example of this community giving it's people and others from far and wide a reason to come enjoy this often overlooked seaside community and bask in what I'm blessed with on a daily basis. Props to everyone who brought their rides out and put them on display for everyone to enjoy. I'm proud to call myself a San Pedro resident and this event is a classic example of why. I loved the Grand Park location: with so many vendors, activities, and performances, you could pick and choose where to hang out and what to see: although there were a lot of people, it never felt crowded. Of course, it's not a Filipino get-together unless there's a lot of food and FPAC didn't disappoint: food trucks White Rabbit and Curbside Cravings were there, along with other trucks and food stands at various spots in the park. Many Filipino and Filipino-American organizations were here, along with plenty of entertainment: music, art, poetry, cultural performances, and much more. There were also a lot of clothing and accessories vendors with Filipino pride-themed wares at various prices. We spoke to a few of the community organizations, ate barbecue sticks, and walked up and down Grand Park. Our highlight of the day was the Panulatan Literary Arts presented by the Sunday Jump, with spoken word performances by various artists; in particular, we enjoyed the work of Sherwin Ginez. Unfortunately, FPAC was held during the heat wave that threatened to melt away Southern California. We would've stayed longer, but we just couldn't bear the heat any longer. Kudos to the festival organizers, though, for providing a Cool Zone with misters for a soothing cooling-off area for guests. I'm already planning to attend next year's FPAC. Highly recommended.

There is nowhere to really park. If your lucky you will find parking close to a mile away. I seen cars getting tickets as well as seeing cars being towed away. Cultural food, music, dancing and clothing sales. We had a good time! Stayed for a couple of hours to beat the heat. Such a nice ocean breeze. We go to beer festivals, and 99% of them are the kind where you fill up a glass boot. That's a…read moreslight exaggeration, but to be honest, we go to them to get drunk, in a place filled with drunks so much more louder and obnoxious than us that we feel good about ourselves. So, it stands to reason that an event like this would seem too expensive by someone like me, who is not a beer connoisseur by any means, who is fine swilling domestic light beers because anything too bitter or tart or hoppy (or, let's be honest, flavorful) is not as easy to get into my belly. There, I said it. I don't home brew, I don't go the Yardhouse, I don't drink from taps with giant geese or sharks on them, I don't have ironic facial hair or an Arcade Fire t-shirt. There is no I in I-P-A. Oh wait there is. Anyway... So, for someone like me to justify the price ($45 just for ADMISSION, tastings not included), I get that an event like this prices out the riff raff, the drunks, the glass boot fillers, the people who'd potentially start a fight because they are wondering what you are looking at. To me, it's the price for peace. So, when I say it's expensive, you know where I am coming from, and we can move on...with that out of the way, here's what I liked and disliked: THE PEOPLE ARE AWESOME. That guy holding ten tasting glasses looks like Cornell West! That guy over there looks like a MythBuster. That pourer looks like a young Morrissey (Hop me, oh oh oh, Hop me, Hop me if you think that you've heard this one before). That guy looks like a Details magazine ad. And, yes, there were bros, but the kind of bros who don't start fights in bars- they were the kind who want to break up a potential fight by buying a round. The people were happy, shiny people- friendly and genuine. THE BEER SELECTION WAS OVERWHELMING. My favorite was the Bottle Logic Dragonfruit and the Japanese Pumpkin. I also steered people toward the Ginger Beer (sorry I forget their name: something like Alternative?) which tasted like when you take a sip of your sake bomber after eating a piece of ginger. Many were just too sour to drink--- I mean, they were so sour I thought Ashton Kutcher was gonna come out and reveal I had been punk'd. THE EVENT SPACE WAS COOL. It was a huge hangar with string lights overhead, in a clean, clear structure with vendors side by side along the perimeter and middle, just like an expo but with much wider space for the guests, so it was real easy to walk around- a big plus. THE GLASS. Cool keepsake glass for tasting, and we were happy to see the pours were not as "EXACT" (you know, like a Chili's bartender) as we expected. CRITICISMS (THINGS TO IMPROVE): *The food area was in the dark. The tables and chairs were in the dark. It was depressing. Thank God there weren't loose belts around. It was borderline dangerous- you wouldn't want your girlfriend walking there alone. It's almost as if someone said, "Hey, let's make the food area dark and unattractive so people will return to the beer area". Just a few string lights would have made it feel like a wedding; instead it felt like a Sons of Anarchy burial in the woods. *There was no smoking area. *They could have afforded at least ONE person to cruise the eating area and pick up the trash left behind. Just one. I don't care if the inventor of beer himself was at the event with Doug and Bob McKenzie as special guests: a $45 admission fee should ensure that you aren't going to eat on dirty, trash-ridden tables. Maybe that's why it was so dark--- to not see the trash and cigarette butts. That said, we had fun. WISH YOU WERE BEER!

So many world class breweries from lambic producers Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen to American breweries such as Jester King and Sante Adarius Rustic Ales. The check in process was super smooth, the lines to get beer were never long (except for the lambics which was to be expected). This event is in a different city each year and it was so good that I would consider traveling to whatever city it's in next year.

This event had food vendors and a contest for best makeup/dress. The altars were so touching and cool. There were some altars in the trunk of a low rider, an altar for dogs, and much more. There were awesome Aztec dances and drum performances. There was a tree of life where people could write notes to their loved ones. I took a couple of friends here who never knew about the holiday and they really enjoyed the cultural experience. I felt emotional looking at the photos of loved ones as I am still grieving my dad's loss. It was touching to see family members celebrated this way. The bad: I wish this was a tradition my family took part in! The interesting: I parked in a garage parking lot that required payment supposedly but I ended up not needing to pay. It has been traveling for almost 8 years! It's been to Hong Kong, Japan, Russia, Alaska, Washington, Maine, Hawaii, Scotland, England, Indonesia, South America, Australia, & the Arctic Ocean! Limited edition mini replicas are being sold from $10 unsigned, $20 with artist's signature & $50 that's both signed & numbered. There's also an arts & crafts section, rubber duck inspired accessories booth, etc. TIP: $8 parking (cash only) & $7 admission ticket to see the duck only. Bring your sunblock & wear comfortable shoes. TALL SHIPS: These are a mix of both private & public ownership. Some are used for blue water open racing, educational programs, sail training, marine schooling, fishing, etc. FOOD: I also saw several food trucks in this event - Wise Barbecue Co., Baby's Badass Burgers, The Sushi Pirate, Chowmein, Hungry Nomad, The Grilled Cheese Truck, Cousins Maine Lobster, Lobstatruck, etc. ENTERTAINMENT: I saw the UCLA Bruin Marching Band perform and some other bands as well.
