Josh and his company did a remodel to my house that included one full bath, one 1/2 bath, new…read morerailings on the stairs, refacing a couple columns, new kitchen cabinets/island and all of the flooring. Unfortunately, though there were a lot of issues. The first thing was that they drilled the holes for the pulls wrong on my cabinet doors, which caused each pull to be about 3/8"-1/2" lower than the pull on the door next to it. His solution was to just drill the holes bigger on both doors so he could get the pulls to line up, which solved the problem when the doors are closed, but when you open them, you can see a very visible hole poking out below the head of each screw.
After most of the work had been completed, we spent weeks of back and forth to get them back out to finish painting the ceiling, and they never returned to fix paint drips they got on our wall, or fix installation damage to our railings, or to fix the paint above our cabinets, or to finish a repair they made to our 1/2 bath due to a drain pipe leak that occurred when they were removing the paneling.
Not long after they installed the LVP floor it started separating in multiple places. After months of back and forth, Josh said it was a manufacturing issue with the flooring, so we agreed to hire a certified flooring inspector to come out and look at. The flooring inspector provided us a detailed report finding that the tongue and grooves were broken due to incorrect installation. Josh said the inspector was wrong; but after he called the inspector, he agreed to replace the flooring. We ended up having to fight with Josh for over a year about getting those floors replaced. To replace the floor required 96 boxes but he said that he had spoken with his installer and 15 boxes was all that was needed to replace the damaged planks. The following week his installer came and said that the repair Josh was suggesting would not be possible and all of the flooring in the house would need to be replaced. Josh said he wouldn't do that and went back to saying the inspector was wrong and putting the blame on the flooring manufacturer. So even though we loved the flooring we had selected, in an attempt to just get the problem fixed we said we would switch to a different flooring manufacturer that he could pick. And although he should have paid for the entire floor (since he installed it wrong) we agreed that he would pay for the equivalent of the damaged flooring planks ($2500) and we would pay the difference ($6200). He would also cover the installation and the trim pcs.
When we ordered the floor we reached out to Josh to have him pay us the $2500 he promised, immediately he said he wasn't paying that. We ended up going back and forth with him all morning, reminding him of the commitments he made, and even taking it to the point where I had to threaten legal action, finally he agreed to fulfill his promise. That was the day that I initially posted this review giving him a 1 star. When he saw the review he started sending me text messages stating, "after what I've done for you this is how you act" and sarcastic texts calling me a "real stand up guy". I simply replied explaining that slinging insults wouldn't make the situation better and that if he follows through with his promises I would change the review.
Although none of the other issues ever got addressed, they did finally replace the flooring last week. It looks good right now, but so did the last floor for a little while after they installed it. As promised, I have returned to change the review, I'm switching it from 1 star to 2 stars, but I have also uploaded pics of all the other issues as well as the text messages from the original review so that people that read this can make an educated decision. I do think that Josh and his company are capable of good work, there are a lot of things in my house that were done well, but I would also advise people to withhold payment until everything has been addressed so that hopefully your experience is better than mine.
