Since then, and since attending Dr Sketchy's wonderful life drawing classes at the RVT, I have been back a few times to browse and a few times to buy art supplies. This is not a bad thing, but knowing it's so close really tempts me to keep going back and spending far too much money on lovely paints and pens and brushes and stuff, even though I can't draw to save my life. There always seems to be a few good deals available on certain items, though not to the extent of the sales Cass Art runs all the time, and some of the staff are really helpful. There was one grumpy man there once who referred me to his colleague rather than answer my question himself, then glowered at me as he scanned everything in at the till, but everyone else I've spoken to have been pretty nice and didn't make me feel stupid when I asked basic questions about materials.

Half an hour later I had whittled my selection down to an arm full of jerseys several wools and a few tartans. They have a pretty big selection bearing in mind the size of the shop and the price is amazingly reasonable. Now I have no reason to buy fabric anywhere else. Normally however, they bring out exactly what I asked for. This may just be luck but it works for me all the same. The shop is small and rather old fashioned selling a range of paper, stationary, paint, canvas' and art supplies. The same man has been working here for all the time that I have been going to the shop and is very well informed and helpful. Expect to pay slightly more than you would in larger art and stationary shops, but for the ease and practicality of shopping here, it is well worth the extra pound or two.

But do you get what I mean? This is a Dutch store where there's plenty of Hema-branded household goods that are reasonably priced.
