After receiving several bids, we chose Richardson Concrete of Shelley, Idaho, to replace our crumbling 57-year-old driveway, main entrance walkway, street gutter, curb and sidewalk. Richardson Concrete is busy -- a good sign -- so it took months to get the job scheduled and underway. But once it was, they were prompt, reliable, skilled and professional. The workers were friendly, polite, respectful, and responsive to questions and concerns. We have more deteriorating concrete to replace, and we definitely will consider using Richardson again. Now, for the few bugs that emerged: -- A worker left boot prints in the wet concrete of a sidewalk square and on the existing concrete, which Richardson promptly replaced; -- A thin, easy-to-miss crack in an entryway square developed, which Richardson offered to resolve however I wanted it to be. After consulting with their finisher, who arrived ready to fix it however I wished, I decided to live with it and see how it developed; -- Specks of concrete splatter hit the house siding, perhaps because the crew didn't cover the siding with plastic sheeting, as I think they should have. This hasn't been resolved as of this writing. -- I found Richardson Concrete to be busy, and for good reason. They are professional, responsive, honest, and pleasant to work with. Just be prepared to wait, perhaps months, to move up in their schedule.

We have high ceilings in every room and settling issues led to nails popping and cracks, but these guys handled it like it was nothing - everything looks like the day it was built again. I had one room I knew would be particularly challenging with residue from years of old wallpaper and cracks in the ceiling. He was willing to take on other miscellaneous tasks outside of painting too like removing old telephone jacks and repairing baseboards. Obtaining concrete work during Covid years and post Covid years has been a hard thing to…read moreaccomplish. So we were delighted that we got on the schedule of Everlasting Construction and that they were very professional. We got on their list four months before concrete could be laid in our area and we were not first on their list. Several others were before us. However, when concrete could be poured in our area they set a date and they came when they said they would come. This to me is the sign of a very good contractor! From the initial layout through the final concrete pour they showed professionalism and willingness to make sure we got the patio we wanted. Someone told us that most people never pour as much concrete as they find they need, learning this need for extra concrete space after the work is done. So we made sure our patio and a separate shed pad were a good size. Even then we needed to have more concrete added to our shed pad and they fit us in before the sod was laid. As to the quality...other contractors we used for the landscaping told us just how great a job they did during the layout and pour. When the concrete had thirty days cure on it I again sought their help in what concrete sealer to use and where to buy it. Weston was very helpful and pleased I wanted to seal his great work. Definitely if you need concrete work done I would use Everlasting Construction. Their work is superb, they follow their scheduling promised, and their pricing is comparable to other contractors in our area.

When other landscapers came after the pouring of these patios, one landscaper came to build a pergola on the larger patio, one to build a shed on the smaller patio, and one to lay all the sod, trees, etc. - they all stated these two patios were some of the best they'd seen. Smooth, properly tilted, easy to deal with (and to build upon) - was a unanimous opinion. Well, admittedly, to us it was just a concrete patio(s), and though we were definitely pleased, we asked for more thoughts - why the exuberance? The answer was: "You don't see concrete patios laid this nicely. Some of them are totally wacko and hard to deal with." So, definitely five stars. Not only did we like the work, other outdoor builders and the landscaper (lawn) praised the work as well.
