I just wated to say.. My granddaughter works here and loves it. She loves her boss ..and i know why. This boss really cares about her employees. I have worked many places and have been a boss of a restaurant myself. The owner aka boss goes above what most owners do. During the ice storm my granddaughters aunt was drover her to work and was having a difficult time. They called the owner and explained. She told them her safety was more important than getting to work. I know most bosses dont care. I want to publically want to thank her for worrying about her employees and not the almighty dollar. Went to Shawnee for the day and stumbled upon this cozy coffee shop. It had a lot of great seating for such a small area. Plenty of couches and tables to choose from. The music wasn't distracting but quite pleasant to listen to while studying or working. The owner was very helpful and personable. There were a lot of options to choose from like coffee, boba, breakfast foods, and pastries. I first got an iced maple fudge latte, which was delicious. It was just enough sweetness. Then I got a tiger milk tea with boba. The owner helped explain what it was and the different flavor variations that boba tea shops can do. She also explained it was her personal recipe that they make in store. My husband got a watermelon slushee that he said had a real natural flavor to it which most places tend to have a very artificial flavor for any watermelon items. We both shared two mochi flavors which I especially enjoyed. One was taro and the other one had coconut on it. Would highly recommend and wish it was closer to home. I had a class in Shawnee and we wanted to run in after we ate as we only had an hour. There was only one guy working when we came in so it was understandable but it did take us a while to get three drinks. I bought some macaroons because I have no self control - they were very good but one did seem like it wasn't as fresh as the others. I also love macaroons so it is going to take more than that for me to not go back. Even though we did wait, the coffee was really good. I loved the environment, it was very laid back and cozy. Not sure when I would be back to Shawnee but I would like try out some other drinks on their menu (tea, smoothies). read more

I am new to the area and decided to search for a local coffee and tea shop. There were more options than I typically find in small areas so I looked around online to learn more and decided to visit Elevated Grounds. I am glad that I did! It is a lovely little shop and I am pleased to leave its first Yelp review. One of the first things I noticed when walking up to the storefront is the cute little chalkboard sign. (I added a photo to the shop's listing here on Yelp.) A staff member crafted an inviting picture and message. I imagine that this is changed up periodically and I look forward to seeing what is created next. It may seem like a small touch but I can see little kids and other visitors specifically looking for "what's new" on the sign during each visit. Fun! Once inside, I saw that the shop is incredibly clean and well organized. There are a few t-shirts and stickers available for purchase and the drink offerings are plentiful. A couple of food options are available as well. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and described the drink I ordered quite well. He carefully prepped my order and made sure to put enough loose tea into the teabag. It was a great cup of tea! (I got the Earl Grey.) The staff members and owners clearly care about creating a safe and enjoyable experience for customers. My suggestions for the space would be to warm it up and personalize it a bit more to reflect the company's personality. Even if going for more of an industrial vibe, a few additional pops of color and a few more comfortable seating options would be nice. It doesn't have to look like Central Perk from Friends but a warmer feeling atmosphere would be more inviting. Additionally, while I know that the focus is on the beverages, it would be nice to see a few more food options. The baked goods looked delicious but I went early in the day and there were only a few pieces of two different options left. I asked if they had considered offering vegan options (even if just once in a while) and the barista mentioned that they were actually just discussing that issue that morning. They are considering adding vegan energy bites and, perhaps, some other such offerings. I thanked and encouraged them. While I know that Shawnee is not as vegan friendly (or vegetarian friendly) as other areas, the demand for these types of products is growing. Adding foods suitable for vegans opens up options for those practicing this lifestyle but also gives expanded options for other eaters. I appreciate their willingness to consider this. My visit to Elevated Grounds was enjoyable and I will definitely be back. I encourage others to support this new local business as well. I love their bubble Tea there. Maybe about two or three times the tapioca wasn't fully cooked. But other than that the bubble tea is amazing! But today... I was kind of disappointed... The tapioca was fine but it was the milk tea this time... it tasted like chemicals, I was kind of scared that some kind of chemical accidentally got in there. then I realized that when I ordered it, it came in like 15 seconds. So,I don't know if the person who made it just rushed,but it didn't taste as good as it usually does. read more

This is a great coffee shop. I believe it is under new ownership as of the last month or so. I'm excited to see a shop in Shawnee that does coffee well. They offer pour over, espresso, machiatos, lattes, etc. The beans are roasted at Coffee Slingers in OKC which I can vouch are really good beans. They offer milk, soy, almond, and coconut milk options. The service staff is fantastic. Very friendly. They sell cool looking swag including shirts, custom ceramic mugs, and even unique ceramic V60 cones! read more

I'm not sure why this place is getting such high ratings. I drove up at 8:50 on Friday morning and there was one car in front of me. By 9:00 I was finally at the window. I ordered a 12 oz cappuccino and it was half full. When I asked about it, apparently that's normal. You only get 5 oz when you order 12 oz. I've had lots of coffee from lots of places and this has never happened anywhere else. I finally drove off at 9:15. I was there for 25 minutes with only one person in front of me.maybe it would have been worth it if the coffee was exceptional, but it wasn't. I was thoroughly disappointed. The coffee is exceptional, but what I really love about this place is the boba, tea, and smoothies! We're used to only being able to get boba on the rare occasions that we're in OKC or Norman. I cannot tell you how excited I was to FINALLY have it served locally! The staff is extremely friendly and happy to answer any questions you have. I have only had one semi-off experience here, I ordered an iced matcha latte and was given a slightly green cup of milk on ice, had zero matcha flavor. I had never seen the young man that was working that day, so I chalked it up to him possibly being new. Even still, it will not deter me from coming back :) read more
