I have been going to Dr. Dan Yachter, in Lake Mary Fl. since December 2002. On that day I made a commitment that I was going to improve my health. In 12 1/2 years I have rarely missed my weekly appointments, except for vacations. When I return, his office is the first place I go when I get off a plane. At 22 I had been in a car accident which left me with lower back and hip pain which effected sitting, standing, walking and sleep. In 40 yrs of working all of my jobs required standing all day. At 52 when I got to a point where I could not lift my leg to get up on a curb and I had bronchitis 3 times that year, I thought I am the age my Dad was diagnosed with MS, he died at 58. I knew I had to do something. God works in mysterious ways, as I was suffering with my 3rd bout with bronchitis my work started having health workshops. I thought okay I will try going to one. The first one I attended was with Dr Dan Yachter. My first impression was WOW now there is a man with passion! Everything he said made sense. Our bodies were made to heal themselves. An hour later I was at his office on my dinner hour to buy super greens hoping they would help me feel well again. And they did! Obviously the prescriptions and aspirin I relied on daily had not been working. A few weeks after I attended the workshop I decided to make the commitment to start chiropractic care. Best decision I have ever made! After 12 years my health and stamina has improved I can't even tell you how many workshops I have been to. Dr. Dan has updated and always brings new info to all of his workshops. His workshops are outstanding; the knowledge that you receive is mind boggling and has helped me in so many ways. Have you ever seen an M.D. take 1 1/2's hours of his own time to do workshops to teach you to be healthy? Or take 20 patients and their guests to dinner to explain the health benefits of eating good nutritional foods. He does both of these once a month! Also he has been to my house twice to bring life saving info to 25 of my family and friends with an organic chef! At 64 I sure do feel better than I did at 52. Although life has not been without some challenges: Six 1/2 years ago I received that dreaded phone call: You have cancer! It was stage one endometrial cancer. If I had not been practicing all of the things learned in 6 years about eating healthy at Dr. Dan's workshops I know it could have been worse than what it was at the time. After surgery they wanted me to have 30 rounds of radiation I said NO! I watched my sister with AML Leukemia die at 39 from radiation given to her for a bone marrow transplant. I decided to go the natural route however; it did take some soul searching. My motto became: Sugar Feeds Cancer! When I went for my first consult for radiation the waiting area was full of people and dozens of donuts and cookies! I looked at my friend and said I think we are in the wrong place! One of the most important things I have learned, besides not missing adjustments, is that I have the strength to say no to some of the procedures the Doctors want to do. In the last 3 years I have had two major surgeries because of mesh that was put in me 7 yrs ago. About 9 months after each surgery I have developed ITP (low platelets of 3 - 140 is a good low). They have no idea where it comes from but, wanted to remove my spleen. That was another NO. They say they respect your decisions but, for 6 days every MD that came into my room badgered me about removing my spleen. The info learned at all of the workshops has given me the knowledge and strength to stick to my decisions. If you don't think a workshop is for you, someone you know, family or coworker can benefit from what you learned if you pass it on! I know I have survived all of these challenges because of my great chiropractic care from Elevation Health! My passion is gardening and as soon as the sun comes up I am outside working before or after I go to work! "I Can't Fix It, If I Do Not What's Going On." These were Dr. Yachter's words to me when I came in with a sore back and just wanted a quick adjustment. This is what I was accustom to. I would show up to my former Chiropractor and he would snap and crack me and off I would go until I felt that I needed to go in again. I submitted to their through assessment, which I had not experienced before. I understood why they would ask for the X-Ray, but was not certain what the other tests they were doing were for. That was until, they combined all the results and were able to give me a real time picture as to what was going on with my spine / bodies health. I first learned that the bones in my neck were pretty close to straight up and down. It looked fine to me, till he informed me that this is not a healthy position for anyone's neck to be in. It is actually suppose to have a curve in it. Dr. Yachter explained that by the neck bones being straight and not curved, that it was pressing in on my spinal cord affecting the communication from my brain to my organs. I have to say that I have been wrestling with my health for over 18 years. None, of it back or neck pain related. However, this new information made me wonder if the health issues that I was battling had something to do with the pinching of my spinal cord. Then he proceeded to show me that one of my neck vertebra at the base of my skull was twisted. Not, just a little, but a lot! This bone was also pressing significantly on my spinal cord. Seeing that neck vertebra twisted like that, I would of thought that I would have been in pain of some sort. But, that was not the case at all. I had no neck pain! But, I certainly had a problem and one that needed correction immediately. He did let me know that this bone and the arch in my neck could be restored to its proper position. That was a relief to hear. I was shown the other test results that showed a snap shot of the communication going on inside of my body. These tests confirmed what the X-Ray showed and that was blockages in the signal flow in my body. It was an easy decision to get on board with a very detailed treatment plan which included, adjustments, in office therapy and at home therapy then follow up X-Ray to check the progress. This was also new to me. This had never been done by previous Chiropractors over the years. I can say, that after 12 visits and the follow up X-Ray and testing. I was able to see the results taking place. Which I found amazing, after only so few visits. We are early on in my treatment plan and my progress is well on track. I highly recommend Dr. Yachter and his team and suggest that everyone get a spinal check up! Who knows what my future health could of looked like if not caught at this stage. About 4 years ago my husband and I were visiting a local market. As we looked around we found a chiropractor who was giving a free scan down the backs of people. I had been suffering severe pain in the upper back for a long time. We had tried a lot of doctors and specialists to no avail. I also had the cough from Hades which I could never get relief from. My posture was all bent up from the pain and frankly I was a mess. As we watched my husband said. 'Why don't you try it." So I did. I thought. 'Well why not! I have nothing to loose.' I was first introduced to Dr Dan Yacther's practice at a store where they were had an info table and free scan. I was impressed by what I heard. When I got home I told my husband who felt it was a bunch of holkum. I finally convinced him to go to an introductory meeting to hear about this explaination about how and why we get sick and how it can be addressed by the brain/spine connection thrrough the arc of life. After listening to and understanding this simple & common sense explaination we decided it would be foolish not to give it a try. This has got to be the best and most important decison we made in our lives for our well being. I don't even know where to start. All I did was accompany my husband to his appointment and attended a free workshop and I was stunned at how our Spine Health is sooooooo important! Just something we rarely think about. Dr. Dan has such a way to explain it so that us common folk(not Doctors), can understand it. I had a constant headache accompanied with neck pain and from my shoulder down to my hand in my right arm so bad that I couldn't even grasp anything. I must admit that it took me about 3 weeks for me to go ahead and let them take my x-rays. I am so glad my daughter and I came in for a consultation at Elevation Health! It changed our lives! We have been patients for 8 months and we feel better than ever. Up until approximately 2 years ago, I didn't have much faith in Chiropractics, but conventional medicine was unable to diagnose the problems I was having with leg pain, I decided to give Chiropractics and Dr. Dan a shot at it. Possibly one of the best decisions I have ever made in my 74 years of life. Dr Dan's is the best chiropractor in town. My mom has been telling me for years to start going so my children & I started during one of their anniversary events. I had lower back pain for so long that I just "learned to live with it". I have been seeing Dr. Yachter for almost 10 years. You might think, why? There must be something wrong if you have to continuously see a chiropractor for that long! I go because I have never felt better and I want to continue to feel that way. I was referred to EH by my 93 year old neighbor after she read an article in the Orlando Sentinel about Fibromyalgia. She could touch her feet doing yoga and I could barely bend my waist without pain.I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia more than 20 years ago. Dr. Dan is the best chiropractor! He does an exam with X-rays and really gets down to the root of your issues and where your pain is stemming from. I've been grinding my teeth for years, even cracked a tooth! I had no idea that it was caused by the stress and tension from my neck, because it is straight instead of properly curved. I also had knee pain and a swollen ankle every day, this all slowly started going away with adjustments and daily exercise, because it was reverting from the top of my spine all the way down. I have been with Dr. Dan for 3 years. I met him at a dinner, where he was the speaker and I was thinking, "a chiropractor"? Funny thing is I believed everything he said regarding the spine.
