While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. She had an advertisement card from DGB roofing construction Inc. which was local to Crystal Lake and to me a perk. So I called and made an appointment and they were very communicative. Because my mother's home is very difficult to locate they called me a couple times to find us and they were even able to come a day earlier which was great for me having come from out of state and other obligations I needed to manage. Now though, we were expecting to get an estimate my mother was so relieved and felt blessed by the adjuster named Nabil. He was so very honest, thoughtful and helpful and with all the other worries I have about an elderly parent; this gave me peace at heart. He was up on the roof with his equipment & I was also looking at the roof thinking it was looking pretty good. But while Nabil was doing his inspection from the roof and I was on the ground he explained how well the valleys were built, there were top notch vents and the flanges around the chimney stack were also very good quality. He told me it was a 30 year shingle and had probably had been put in about 15 years ago. I am so very grateful that there are still contractors out there with some ethics. Because it would be very, very easy to take advantage of an 80-year-old woman in this day and age. As the other company would have done and the second contractor I had contacted who wasn't going to come and look at the roof he was going to do it via satellite. No thanks! These are the reasons I am giving this company such a high rating even though we did not schedule a roofing project. If you think you need a new roof, I would recommend contacting DGB roofing and construction Inc. and especially to ask for Nabil. The inspection was free as well for my mother. They were responsive, professional, and understanding, especially since we'd let them know that numerous other contractors had been unable to find the source of the leak. Not only did they find it, they gave us part of our home back with beautiful new roof decking. We had worked with them previously on a smaller project (repairing a finished porch), and when issues arose with that recently they were incredibly helpful in working with us, including in conversations about the cost for additional and do-over repairs. The team is super-communicative, courteous, and diligent. They send frequent updates, including photos, when they're working and reach out whenever they have a question (e.g. about the color of materials, etc). The prices are reasonable and reflect the very high quality of their work. I am so glad I chose CRS and would do so again in the future without hesitation.

Horrible company. At first, they seem easy to work with and promise high-quality work using good…read morematerials and very friendly - However, after the the work was done I noticed the shingles were not laid properly , and the invoice says that I would get color-matching shingles--which I DID NOT GET. It looks like they used leftover shingles from a previous job instead of purchasing new ones that matched. My main issue was a leaking valley and a leaking bedroom ceiling. They "repaired" it very poorly, despite charging me $4,050. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts leaking again soon, considering the exposed nails and misplaced shingles. ( they did come to lay the shingles better by leaving EXPOSED nails which will soon cause a leak and didnt want to change the shingles to color match ) I also paid them $500 to seal my roof hatch, which I understood was a temporary fix--but that repair didn't even last a month before leaking again. When I called them, they quoted me $1,500 to remove the hatch and said they would credit the $550 toward that job. Two weeks later, I followed up by email, and the price suddenly jumped to $3,500. Their final email said, "You want to play games--let's go!" What does that even mean? Is he threatening to come to my home and start a fight? I'm reporting this message to the police in case they attempt anything. Do not trust this company. - they quote you using a drone without actually getting up and doing a better job finding the problem
