As homeowners we don't know how to deal with them and they take advantage of us. I worked with Sterling exteriors. The rep came out circled the hail damage and came out and walked through the damage with the inspector. He acted as my advocate and I ended up getting new siding and gutters. They just finished the work this week and it looks great. With no out of pocket cost and the rep actually added trim and a few other items on their own. The rep you deal with makes a difference. I worked with Mike O'Brien at 847-703-0299. He was great. Mike kept me updated the whole way through the process. My experience with Mike was exceptional.

I had Sterling Exteriors out to quote on some soffit work that I needed done. They came in…read moremid-September but told me to wait until the end of October to book anything because it would be less expensive. So I waited until the end of October and called. I was told that they were already closing down for the winter but that they had a guy that they worked with who would honor their quotes and do the work. They came back, did a quote, and took pictures to share with their guy. A few days later their referral came out and measured everything. Sterling Exteriors then confirmed what day their guy was going to be coming out. I arranged the financing on my own and had them back out to sign the paperwork and give the the deposit check. When I was giving the deposit check I was told that at that very moment, their guy was out buying the supplies. We were all ready to do. 10 minutes later Sterling Exteriors called back and said that there guy wasn't going to be able to do it because of "a number of issues, but mainly manpower". So they had provided pictures to their guy, confirmed the start date, were in the process of purchasing the required materials, and had a signed work order and deposit. And all of a sudden the guy who was all ready to go couldn't do it. So I said that Sterling needed to do it themselves, but was told no, they were closed for the year and that there was nothing that could be done. It's plainly obvious that Sterling Exteriors under quoted the work and that neither their referral nor Sterling Exteriors themselves would honor the pricing I was given, and that I was being given the run around as to the reason why. When I confronted Sterling Exteriors about this they stopped replying altogether. Very shady business that won't honor their own pricing even after the contract was signed.

TL; DR: I ended up getting a new roof from Elite Home Restoration due to documented hail damage…read more Dennis himself was personable, but there were some issues that didn't make it an excellent experience. Dennis's crew came knocking at my door during the "pandemic," and before my town had reissued permits. Dummy me for opening the door, and shame on me for not even considering to ask if they had a solicitor's permit. The only thing that had gone through my mind was the fact that I was going to need a new roof, and got tied up with regular life things. So while it had been on my radar, I had not taken any initiative. FYI #1: they charge 3.5% for use of a credit card. This was not disclosed in any of the paperwork, nor mentioned in conversation. FYI #2: Before you do ANYTHING, check your insurance to see if there is a clause about codes. Apparently you can add coverage, pertaining to your residence meeting or not meeting codes. obviously imperative to look into if you foresee needing repairs such as replacing a roof. My roof decking was @3/8" (code is 5/8"), which wasn't covered under my insurance. I had to foot the bill for all new decking so it would meet code. I feel like these are pretty common situations that Elite Home Restoration should have brought up prior to initiating a claim, or signing any paperwork / agreements. but obviously this is how they make their money. By the end, the roof looked great. However, there was a ton of debris around my property that was never picked up (a safety hazard to my two small children and dog), including large wood splinters and nails. I ended up having to collect it all myself, and I addressed it with Dennis. Be an informed consumer and learn from my naivety. Borderline 3 star for the good-looking roof.

In the morning Patrick called to say he would not come out till after 12 pm at the earliest. He told me he would get back to me at 3 PM planning on coming out between 4 and 5 pm. It is now 6:14.... No call and no Patrick. Very disappointed in his unprofessionalism and being totally unconcerned that water was pouring into my office. I am calling a different company and would never recommend this company for being so unreliable. Not even a phone call to tell me he would not be coming after all?

My sister's roof was leaking. Oury did a tear-off and complete re-roof. It should have been a…read moregood roof for twenty years. Instead, my sister's roof began leaking within 9 months after the tear-off and re-roof. Not only that it was not a small leak and it was not in one spot. It continued to get worse to the point that she contacted Oury to come out and assess and repair her roof. They sent their son, who looked around on the roof. He made a telling comment..."it looks like your flashing is old and damaged.". I was there with her when he made that comment and I assume that since the roof began to leak so badly and so quickly after it was finished that there was very shoddy workmanship and that they did not replace the flashing when they originally did the re-roof. The son applied some caulk around my sister's dormers. Of course, it continued to leak in her house every time it rained. She finally contacted their office and told them that she was unsatisfied with the quality of their work and nicely asked that they repair her roof as well as pay for the damage to her drywall ceilings in both her living and dining rooms. They immediately "lawyered up". "We don't know anything...it's in our insurance company's hands and our lawyer's hands." All she wanted them to do what a stand-up company would do. Admit their error, and re-do her roof. Instead, she never ever got a response from them or their lawyer despite her repeated followups. Ultimately, she had to go to another roofing company, Apex Roofing (who we would highly recommend) and pay AGAIN to have her roof re-roofed just two years after Oury did their poor job. PLEASE!! NEVER EVER CONSIDER USING OURY!! THEIR WORK QUALITY IS POOR AND THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK
