This place is hit or miss. Not great for high net worth folks or people with anything with a degree of complexity. Sometimes they make complex things so easy that I'm like, "hey alright, this is why credit unions are going to rule the day!" And sometimes they are so stubborn in their thinking that something that would be very low risk to them (ie would be secured by a balance roughly 100x the request) is not even considered. I guess more troubling is any time I have an issue, I'm sent away. My husband, furious, calls back and they finally listen to reason. Imagine being in 2024 and your man needing to advocate on your behalf because your poor little bird brain couldn't. So probably not a good place for women to bank either, unfortunately. read more

Elevations Credit Union (what was wrong with University of Colorado Credit Union) wants to hear from you unless you say something they don't want to hear. Example: That ridiculous pretend dog you are supposed to pretend you are talking with on chat. If that wasn't silly enough you can now get a plushy yeti. Example: Go to the main location on 30th St in Boulder and try to fill out a blank slip at the counter provided. You will be standing in the shadow of the lights overhead and behind you. Just wanted to voice my appreciation to/for Kristi at the S Hover Longmont location. I went in today to ask questions about foreign travel and to open two CDs. She took care of every thing I needed very quickly. Was happy that I went in to the credit union. I've now banked with Elevations for about 10 years. Service has always been excellent. I must be an outlier, but I don't understand the low reviews. I've had nothing but positive experiences with this bank since opening my account in 2009. I wanted to move away from large corporate banks, and this one came highly recommended. I genuinely enjoy visiting the branch, where the tellers know me by name and are always friendly and engaging. Any issues I've had have been promptly resolved with professionalism. I've never experienced any accounting problems. Elevations Bank deserves my 5-star rating, and I continue to recommend them to others. read more

I first opened an account with them in 1978. It has never been a good experience but my options were limited. I called them to make sure my COVID checks could be deposited and they said that my acct was closed bc of inactivity. They had closed the checking part of the account part if it after fraud. Was told that they sent me a notice but it was returned. I asked why I wasnt called but was told they had thousands of customers and didnt have the time. The computers said, "Dont reopen." I asked why and the employee simply said she didnt know. Back in the 70s when I opened it, I was told that in order to keep it open, all I needed was to keep $5 in savings (now $25). This review is to show people how Bellco and Elevation Credit Union has handled a credit card scam that involved my wife and I, an elderly couple, in the amount of $5,000.00. Bellco Credit Union was in the amount of $2,000 and Elevation Credit Union was in the amount of $3,000.00 On January 1, we received a voice message at 5:30 am in the morning, which we were not home at the time. Once we arrival at home, we listened to the voice message. The voice message was from a supposedly Detective Feller from the Denver Sheriff office. It stated that I had a warranty at for my arrest. Calling the supposedly Detective Feller, he explained that I had a warrant out for my arrest. He told me that I could handle the warranty with a PR Bond. To use the PR Bond, I need to follow his instructions. In addition, I had to keep my cell phone on, so he could track me. He explained I need to purchase 10 Google Play cards in the value of $5,000.00 to use on the PR Bond. Being afraid of going to jail, I followed his instruction. I went to King Soopers on Colorado Blvd to purchase the cards. I had to use two different credit cards to purchase the cards. I have learned that when purchasing large amounts of gifts cards, the King Soopers cashiers are supposed to ask if I'm in trouble, which never happened. The person told me that if I spoke to anyone, he would have the Denver Sheriffs track me down by my cellphone and haul me to county jail. I had my phone on the whole time while purchasing the cards under duress. After purchasing the cards, I had to read off the numbers on the back of the card to him. I told him that I was on the way to the Sheriff office to turn myself in. At that moment, the caller become very angry. He supposedly called the dispatcher to tell them that I was fleeing and to send a car to arrest me. When arriving at the Downtown Sheriff's office, I saw of Sheriff's van parked on the street. I walked up and shared with the Sheriff Deputy sitting in the van what was going happening. He explained that if there was warranty for my arrest, they would come to my home - They would not call. Also, he checked and stated there wasn't a Detective Fuller working for the Denver Sheriff. That is went my wife and I had been scammed. I contacted Denver Police to report the fraud, which they created the report. In addition, I contacted Google Play and explained the issue. They requested the card numbers, which they would de-active them. In addition, they shared that I need to contact the FBI. Contacting the FBI, I filed an IC3 Complaint Referral Form. Once I had filed the FBI and Denver Police report, I contacted Bellco and Elevations Credit Union. Both reports were turned over to them. The past to two months have been a horrible experience with both Credit Unions. Bellco has been the worst in resolving the issue. They can't get their stories straight. I have been trying to resolve the credit card fraud for almost two months. Both credit unions have denial my fraud based on the fact the I went in the stores and purchased the cards. I have shared numerous times that I was threaten with jail time. A male reprehensive in Bellco's Fraud Department even went as far to accused me of committing the crime. Then he tried to reverse what he said by apologizing numerous. Lucky the phone call was recorded. In my most recent message from Bellco, they stated that someone would call to discuss the issue. That was only February 12, but still no one has called. Bellco even had stated that we are valued members but they actions doesn't back it up. There is an old saying, "Actions speak louder than words." Elevations went as far as to remove the charges, the reverse the entry, then removed them again and finally put the charges back. My wife and I went to Longmont's Elevations Credit Union on 02/15/19 to speak with the Branch Manager regarding this issue. She explained that I went into the store and purchased the cards. She explained that the Fraud Department sent a letter out on February 5. However, we never received it. Longmont Elevations Credit Union Branch Manager did print a copy for us. She shared that as a Branch Manager she couldn't do anything to change the denial. Both Credit Unions kept forgetting that I was threaten with jail time. In the end, the issue was about their precious money. They don't care about their valued member. And they especially don't care that was a crime against an elderly couple. People should be cautions when dealing with these two Credit Unions about credit card fraud against elderly people. One day I was leaving Bellco and shared that experience with another supposedly valued member. The lady, who was elderly also, explained that she too was having the same problem about credit card fraud. They were telling her that she caused the fraud. In the end, in today's business world, it all about the money - greedy. Good Customer Service is no more. read more

I finally closed my account and went to another bank. I got little help from the Elevations customer support people. I wanted to bank with a local company but they just were so indifferent to my issues that I couldn't keep it up. When I opened my account they gave me my account number. I told the lady who was helping me open the account if that was the number I would use to order checks off the internet? She said it was. I ordered checks with that number and when they came in I wrote 12-15 checks to pay bills. Imagine my surprise when they bounced as high as the sky even though there was ample money in my account! Turns out the numbers I was given were only partly right. I complained to the bank manager and asked that all the NSF fees be refunded due to the clerk's miscommunication--around $600. The bank manager refused saying I should have known better!!!!! Only when I contacted the bank President did I get restitution. And, still I stayed with them. Every quarter I get a large dividend check which I deposit. I have never had a problem until this Aug. I deposited my dividend check and left town on vacation. When I got to my hotel I couldn't check in because there were not adequate funds in my account even though I had deposited over $5000 the day before. Turns out, the clerk when took my deposit put a 10 day hold on the funds (that have been deposited in that amount multiple times in the past). I was never told about the hold. When I called Elevations I was told that only the clerk who had placed the hold could cancel it! That was the last straw. Never again will I bank with Elevations. If you do, you need to beware. read more

Really unimpressed with the fact that the people who are hired to answer the phone and give people information don't know simple information. I basically drove all the way across town to use your services because I got off the phone after talking to one of your tellers and they assured me that I could come to this bank to use your services and then when I get here I'm just turned away.
