From embroidered rugs to decorative accents, kiddie stuff to kitchen gadgets, small furniture to diningware, holiday decor to unique gifts for everyone, this multi-room Americana collection is a primitives dream. The displays are well thought out, and no inch is left undecorated. The friendly decorator told us, "If there's a space, I put something in it!" :) One of the best-executed arrangements of decor in this grandma's-house shop style, that this Yelper has ever seen. The quirkier the building, the more the creativity in displays. We make pilgrimages to such places all over New England, and you will absolutely want to hit this place up if you feel the same. Buy all the things, put them in your big trunk, but make room for more things from Calef's General Store next door (see separate review). This was a terrific discovery. Always happy to find a gift shop/food combo, and this awesome collection of historic buildings housing unique country decor and general store, make Elfmade/Calef's a powerhouse combo. I love this store! It's an experience when you come here and each room smells wonderful and has a warmth. The store is in an old rustic home on two stories. If you can't find decor for your home or a gift for a loved one here I don't know where you could? They specialize in the primitive aesthetic but they have so much more to offer without being overdone and everything is definitely quality The owners are great and go above and beyond. I went to this store the end of August, with the intention of getting a room misting spray that my friend led me to. The staff was super friendly and helpful, making me a fresh batch of the spray I was looking for when there was none available on the shelf! Even after accidentally knocking over a few bottles I was looking through, the staff never got angry, although I could see disappointment in their face. Luckily, none of them broke. I will order online from them, and visit their store next time I visit the area. read more

Absolutely disgusted by this store. None of the workers were wearing masks despite there being a pandemic. During these times I love to support small businesses but this one has no respect for their customers. When I called to complain, the man on the phone was completely disrespectful and disregarded everything I said. Despite being highly overpriced, Elfmade Home Decor Company has no regard for their employees or their customers health and well-being. Do yourself a favor and don't support this backwards business. Instead, visit the space next door "Calef's". All of Calef's employees were wearing masks and were maintaining social distancing regulations. One of my favorite country primitive stores in the area. Every room is a treasure trove. Not only do they have country primitive decor they have cookbooks, plush children's toys, linens, furniture and rugs. Everything they carry is quality and the proprietors are very relatable and my family has been shopping here for over a decade. They get a lot of tourists and unfortunately I have seen them treated badly by customers and they handle themselves with nothing but professionalism even when said tourists run to Yelp and leave negative reviews as retaliation. read more

After visiting the store and then reading the reviews I had to laugh. The place had lots of great country decor, candles etc.. all the employees were extremely nice and helpful. I don't wear a mask because freedom and liberty and I appreciate the store not 'requiring' it. The state of NH doesn't so businesses shouldn't. The owners were extremely rude when I asked to buy a lamp that they said was not for sale. There were 2 of them clearly marked with price tags, so I suggested removing the tags if they were not for sale. I got stared at, and then she turned her back to me and walked away. When I complained to the other owner, I was laughed at for complaining and they threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. This after we spent over $150. On top of it all, they were in my face with no masks on! I used to love that store, but I don't think I will be returning after such terrible customer service. read more

This place is always a nice little escape. It welcomes you from the moment you walk in with delicious aromas and the cozy down-home charm New England is known for. The prices are fantastic (I can't even come close to these prices where I live now in MD) and of course, tax-free. Every time I go, the staff is friendly and helpful and I always find at least a few things to tempt me. They primarily carry Early American style decor, candles, pot-pourri and scented oils for same, as well as a good selection of braided rugs, hand-crafted wood furniture and gift items (cards, balsam fir, jewelry, lotions and soaps). If you're in the area, it's worth stopping by especially since it's adjacent to Calef's Country Store which is a local institution in itself and not to be missed if you really want a taste of NH. read more

This is a fantastic place for locals and tourists alike. They carry a massive assortment of candles, potpourri and fragrance oils, easily the best smelling store I've ever been in. Old vintage signs, a large selection of handwoven rugs, mason jars and other old fashioned knick knacks round out the place and you'll probably find something here you'll enjoy. read more

Usually I enjoy shopping here, but I went this morning around the time it was supposed to open. I got there about 10 minutes before 9, so I went into the other side of Calef's to browse there until the shop was supposed to open at 9. By the time I tried again, it was 9:15 and there was still not a soul in sight, the doors were locked and all the lights were off. I guess they don't want business too badly. read more

Unique and unusual gifts, albeit not inexpensive. The caveat is terrible customer rapport. When the cash register clerk gives you lip service, it's fairly obvious they don't want to be there. Seek employment elsewhere, as you are not doing the business any favors. read more
