They don't clean the floors so you just walk through giant clumps of other peoples hair, pretty nasty. Had an appointment and showed up a couple minutes before and let them know I have an appointment at this time. The barber was about half done with a cut and then takes another person in front of me. This was a little irritating, would have been nice for them to let me know they were behind so I would know when I would be seen. Anyway to my surprise it wasn't long before I was up. The lady cutting hair in the first booth spends about 5-10 minutes a cut which I think is short for a proper cut. I sit down she asks what I want I tell her a trim on the top and a two on the sides and that's it's been about 2 months since my last cut. She says okay let's take a half inch off the top to start and I'd you want more we can do that. She said we'll make sure you have enough to comb over. She then proceeds to take an inch off at least. I would have honestly not been that disappointed if she cut it that length but shaped it well. She was shaving my head sideways which is new to me. Basically fades the cut above my temple. It was one of the worst haircuts I've gotten. Was too short on side to even comb over. I think this is the place they just cut your hair one style and hopefully that's what you you like. Not interested in coming back. Hopefully they start taking a little more time and giving the customers the cut they ask for. read more

Dave O Elise is by far the best barber in the Susanville area and I have tried them all. If you have to wait a little bit for your turn, stick it out, it will be worth it. There is a reason you don't have to wait at other barbers. read more

Elise is true barber not a cosmetologist. If you want a cut and/or a shave this is the place! The sign says "flat-top specialist" and I'd love to try one but my hair's gotten way too thin for that. She's cut my hair a half dozen times now and I highly recommend the place. ALSO, There's a beauty bar in the same building. They cater to both men and women. This is the best barber shop I've been to in a long time. Most importantly my husband's hair cut looks great. It was fast, affordable and straight forward. Great, clean environment, old fashioned barber shop charm with modern twists like flat screen TVs and a fridge full or FREE cold beer. Classic shave on the neck and even an eyebrow trim (thank heavens). We'll be making the hour drive for the guys in our family to go here from now on. Worth it! read more

First time. While Elise is sweet, she did not do a good job on both my kids. I have photos with how bad their hair looks. It isn't my job to say, hey this is crooked, hey you missed a bunch of hair on the neck, hey you missed hair near the ears, etc. It is her job to make sure the cut is clean. Period. It was not. I was not happy. I will not return. Both cuts felt a bit rushed as well, with no one in the shop waiting. Being new to town, I'd like to build relationships, not burn bridges. However, when I get service like this with two bad haircuts, I'm not going to stay quiet either. I'll try and post the photos if it lets me and you can decide if you'd like a cut here. read more
