I have been going to Oscar's for a few years now. I am always treated kindly and with respect. Andy does my mani and does a great job. It's fairly easy to schedule an appt. I really would not recommend walking in. They are really busy and don't have a lot of empty spots, at least when I have been there. An important thing to me is cleanliness. They are careful with their tools and use fresh, clean ones every time. read more

I went there for the first time today. I decided to try somewhere new because my currant salon just wasn't working for me any more. I have a couple really bad ingrown toenails and I knew from experience that having them removed wasn't going to be painless. And I was right... the one trouble toe hurt like hell... brought tears to my eyes but that's ok... once they were removed it felt like heaven. The experience was way cheaper than going to the doctors and having it taken care of plus now my feet feel good and my toenails look pretty. Oh and the price was very reasonable. I have been going to Oscar Nails for over 7 years! They have recently moved from suite 11 to suite 3 in the same location. The new salon is very nice with amazing pedi chairs and the best pedis in Susanville. I drive 48 miles round trip from Milford every 2 weeks to have my nails done by Ann. I have problem nails and she is the best there is for artificial nails. She has hundreds of amazing polish colors to choose from, also. Having bad knees, (one being fully replaced) i had a hard time bending it and the other is failing me as well. I know chairs can be moved accordingly, but once one foot was needed, she moved chair closer making the other knee uncomfortable. i finally had to show her my scar to make her understand (spoke hardly any English and communication tough) but then again it still happened. The water was used to rinse my feet, was scolding hot, told her so, (just got giggles) then the towel was hot as well....poor communication doesn't pay when you are disabled. Cross this one off my list. I did however enjoy the massage, the years of skin removal and the purple i chose. Other than that, not going to happen. I will continue to visit different ones until i find one i like and they listen. read more

Pretty over priced for the quality! My friend and I both paid 75$ She had a mani pedi with gel polish. I had acrylic and a pedi no gel. Hmmmmmm sounds fishy if you ask me. Also the quality is not good for the acrylic, every time I get them done here my nails will only hold up for a week! And start popping off. I would only go here as a last resort. read more

Ann and Andy work very hard for all their customers and always try to fit me in on short notice as I am have a crazy schedule can only plan an appointment the same day often. Finally convinced my frugal wife to treat herself and go get her nails done. To the guy named Chris that did her nails... If you ask a customer if she's 'available' and she tells you she is married, you probably shouldn't: *ask her "where is your ring then?" *keep showering her with 'pretty' and 'beautiful' and 'sweet' compliments *show her shirtless pictures of you flexing from 'when you first moved here' *tell her you're glad she's came in because you never would have had the confidence to talk to someone 'like her' otherwise Yes she does have a husband and that husband is me. She was extremely uncomfortable the whole time. You were rude, unprofessional, and flat out refused to respect her boundaries. To other women looking to come here, be aware of this creep and maybe try somewhere else, other than that she said his sister seemed nice and her nails turned out ok. read more

I come here once a year at fair time when we bring the carnival to town! I met Ann when she worked in Crescent City and she's been doing my nails once a year for many years! The place is clean and the people who are all family are all great! They are friendly and do amazing work! If I lived in Susanville this would be my go to place!! They are a typical busy nail salon - half the employees do not speak English; whatever. While their pedicures are okay, they tend to be very rushed to get you out of the seat to rush through the next person. It is okay. Not horrible though. read more

My friend and I went there and the people were soo rude. The only nice one was the guy we got a mani and a pedi my pedi toes were Not cut evenly and polish isn't covering My whole nail. I got a full set of nails and they aren't filed evenly my thumbs hurt like crazy from them being to rough and It looks sooo bumpy. I honestly could have done a better job myself or gone to Walmart and been better off buying the press ons. would have saved a ton of money and it would have looked better. The lady when doing my nails had no communication and would just poke Me and kept tossing my hand telling me to relax I kept apologizing and telling her I was as relaxed as I could be. I usually don't write reviews but the way that I was treated at this location was super unprofessional. The owner did my nails. She was upset that she had to remove my previous set and kept telling me how long it was going to take her. She then kept answering the phone during my entire service. It took 2 hours for me to get a full set. I asked her for long nails and she said "oh well we don't really do a lot of long nails". Then after blobbing the acrylic on she said "that's going to be 70 dollars". Even though the prices clearly say 50 dollars for a full set w/ gel. It didn't say prices may vary due to length or whatever. She put the drill on the highest speed and started to file them down. Then her next appointment came in and instead of finishing my nails she handed me off to another lady to finish my nails. The filing was never finished. tThe next lady just painted them and told me she was done. I asked her to file them more and she told me they looked fine...So I wasted 70 dollars on the lumpiest, most crooked, plain jane set ever. read more

New to town and the only thing great I can say about this place is their availability...always been able to squeeze me in last minute or on a Sunday. I have been there twice and both times received service from a young man...who is 'okay'. The first time I got a regular gel mani/pedi. Was shocked at the price, which says a lot considering I moved here from the Bay Area. The things which normally came with a $40 pedicure down there I had to pay extra for here. Also my gel polish started coming off the very next day. The second time I came in, didn't even bother with my nails but just got a pedicure....the lady in the chair next to me was there before and after I was finished. This guy sure seemed to be in a hurry! Barely scrubbed my feet, still had an ingrown nail when I left and he had the little old lady give me my massage at the end (she had pretty weak hands but was very sweet). Still debating if I should give it another try, but I think I am ready to just drive to Reno every month instead. There, for the same price, I get a full spa pedicure and mimosas. read more

My sister went here for pedicure and called within 24 hours asking me medical questions about infection and ingrown toenails as I am a nurse. I recommended she return so they could have a look and she was told she'd never been there. From the sound of things I'd stay as far away from this salon as I could. I'm recommending antibiotics. If you like fungus and infection, this is your place. Oh and don't look at the licenses that are required to be posted the owner goes ballistic! Patronize at your own risk! read more
