STRONGLY SUGGEST AVOIDING THIS CONTRACTOR!!!! We hired him from out of town when we purchased our home in Poplar Bluff. At first he appeared to be fairly professional and reasonably knowledgeable. On the phone he explained to us how contractors in PB will take advantage of you and how he can't do that to people because he's too good of a person. THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID. He also led us to believe that he had multiple employees and proper equipment. However, the only other person who ever came to help was a convicted felon; and all of the equipment used was brand new. We hired him to replace our floors and remodel our kitchen. It was supposed to be done before we got into town. Instead we walked into a nightmare. Before we got into town, he implied that the floor was finished. Upon arrival we found that it wasn't even completely demoed. We paid him several installments of our agreed upon price before he got much done. By the time he got the majority of the money for the contract he stopped showing up to work. Mind you that none of the projects we paid him for were even close to completion. He claimed to have already done "more than that much work for us" and asked for more money to finish. We all signed a contract, stating the price for each section of the project. He showed up for maybe 20 of the 55 possible work days to work and when he did, barely anything got done. He'd show up late and leave early on most of the days he actually showed. He often would text "on my way" and show up hours later or not at all. Then he would be unreachable. We would be without communication for days at a time with a pitiful excuse once we could reach him. He was extremely unprofessional at times and we held his hand through the process. We even agreed to provide our labor to help get it done. He laid a large section of tile in the wrong pattern, which we had to tear up and replace ourselves. He also did not use the correct technique in applying the tile, and they are coming loose. In the end, we could not get him to show up to work so we fired him. We are in the process of filing a lawsuit to get our money back. The overall experience was a nightmare. The contractors that came in to finish the work have pointed out that what he did accomplish was done incorrectly. The cabinets that were set, were not level. The electrical work done was not functional or safe. He left holes in the floor and ceiling, live wires in the walls, leaking plumbing that damaged a brand new cabinet, and we continue to find more as we work to fix our home. Mr. Jared Morris did an amazing job for us and our home. It needed quite a bit of work and several companies had come. Finally Mr. Morris came to do a quote. He took pictures and notes explaining everything to us. The next evening we had a price and breakdown of everything! Mr. Morris the owner did an amazing job, great price, and was very professional! He replaced the floors in a little over half of our home and redid our entire master bathroom! When we ever need anything done again he is the only person we plan to deal with! Mr. Jared Morris did an amazing job!!! We were in desperate need of our bathroom completely remodeled, the entire home painted from previous owners ware and neglect, and a retaining wall built to the right front of our home to prevent the entire yard from flooding every time it rained; making it impossible to get to our cars without rainboots on! I called MANY different contractors and companies even resulting to ones hours away. I understand that quality work cost quality money but either they were asking about half of what we paid for the house to complete these projects and/or it would take months for them to be able to come out to start and about a month to complete. We spoke with Mr. Jared Morris on Tuesday evening and he was out Wednesday morning to look at the house. He even squeezed us in on his way to work! By Wednesday evening we had the bid and immediately accepted it! Mr. Morris gave us a fair price for the work (skill and labor) that was about 1/3 if not more of other bids we received! He provided us with loads of pictures of past jobs before and after and references we were able to call! Mr. Morris began the job the following Monday! He completed the bathroom to our specifications right at about a week and a half, painted the entire house in four days, and the retaining wall was done and beautiful in a week and a half! Everything was done beautifully, in more than a timely manner, and almost a month in everything is working and functioning beautifully! He did a walk through after each part was done to make sure we were happy. When it was all done he did a final walk through with us to document and go over everything he did and make sure we were happy! If we have any issues with anything done by him malfunctioning within a year he offers to come back and fix it!
