STRONGLY SUGGEST AVOIDING THIS CONTRACTOR!!!!…read more We hired him from out of town when we purchased our home in Poplar Bluff. At first he appeared to be fairly professional and reasonably knowledgeable. On the phone he explained to us how contractors in PB will take advantage of you and how he can't do that to people because he's too good of a person. THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE DID. He also led us to believe that he had multiple employees and proper equipment. However, the only other person who ever came to help was a convicted felon; and all of the equipment used was brand new. We hired him to replace our floors and remodel our kitchen. It was supposed to be done before we got into town. Instead we walked into a nightmare. Before we got into town, he implied that the floor was finished. Upon arrival we found that it wasn't even completely demoed. We paid him several installments of our agreed upon price before he got much done. By the time he got the majority of the money for the contract he stopped showing up to work. Mind you that none of the projects we paid him for were even close to completion. He claimed to have already done "more than that much work for us" and asked for more money to finish. We all signed a contract, stating the price for each section of the project. He showed up for maybe 20 of the 55 possible work days to work and when he did, barely anything got done. He'd show up late and leave early on most of the days he actually showed. He often would text "on my way" and show up hours later or not at all. Then he would be unreachable. We would be without communication for days at a time with a pitiful excuse once we could reach him. He was extremely unprofessional at times and we held his hand through the process. We even agreed to provide our labor to help get it done. He laid a large section of tile in the wrong pattern, which we had to tear up and replace ourselves. He also did not use the correct technique in applying the tile, and they are coming loose. In the end, we could not get him to show up to work so we fired him. We are in the process of filing a lawsuit to get our money back. The overall experience was a nightmare. The contractors that came in to finish the work have pointed out that what he did accomplish was done incorrectly. The cabinets that were set, were not level. The electrical work done was not functional or safe. He left holes in the floor and ceiling, live wires in the walls, leaking plumbing that damaged a brand new cabinet, and we continue to find more as we work to fix our home. I'd look else where.

He took pictures and notes explaining everything to us. The next evening we had a price and breakdown of everything! Mr. Morris the owner did an amazing job, great price, and was very professional! He replaced the floors in a little over half of our home and redid our entire master bathroom! When we ever need anything done again he is the only person we plan to deal with! Thank you Mr. Morris for the amazing service! The Bailee Family

I ask him he ever did work for Helitech before and he told me yes. He asks to see the contract and I show it to him. This is the time I called Southeast and Stu came out on 7/12/2017 to give me a bid and he was told him about the problem that I was running out of time and that the work had to be done by Monday 7/24/2017. Stu came back with a bid of $4,815.55 on 713/2017 and we told him ok. He knew that we had to get this work done by 7/24/2017 and that I did not have no one else. I called Chris and was told that he that he need to meet with Stu from Southeast on 7/13/2017 and that he could not make it and he would meet with Stu on Friday 7/14/2017 at 5.30 p.m. Stu, Chris, my son & I meet to look at the job and at this time that Chris said the one shelf had to come down and that the well holding tank had to be move away from the wall. Stu said that he did not figure that in the bid and I ask him how much was that going to be. I was told that he had to go back to the office and figure that in the bid. Stu from Southeast came back on Monday 7/17/2017 with a bid of $7,115.55 There was nothing I could do at this time, I had 7 day's left to get the work done for Helitech was to start on the 24th Monday. I feel that I was taking advantage of and was in rock & hard spot and could do nothing, my husband could not go downstairs for the meeting, he is on oxygen and in bad health. I ask him if he ever did work for Helitech before and he said yes. He asks to see the contract from Helitech and I showed it to him. Stu from Southeast seen the contract from Helitech in the contract it said to remove sheetrock, bottom of framing on wall, nothing was said about anything else. He came back on a Monday with a bid $3,000 more. Here is a copy of the contract. He doesn't have that much material in the job. When we hired Southeast, we were to believe that they would be done in 2 weeks after Helitech was done. I also had another contractor give me a bid and was told that I was way over charge for the job.
