I went in to get a facial, hair cut and a scalp treatment. The facial was by Jessica she was lovely and did a really nice job especially since I have psoriasis. Sadly due to Liability issues they were not able to give me a cut or the scalp treatment because I do have psoriasis on my scalp and pre what the instructor said it looked dry and red, but no open wounds. So if you have psoriasis on your scalp I would suggest looking elsewhere, but other than that everyone was lovely at the establishment and they were willing to be as helpful as they could be given the situation. read more

I like coming here for the discounted services and for helping students get their practice time. I've tried the other student salon in the valley and I found that the students at elite are much more comfortable and confident performing services. Made appt for Mani pedi and was told they were $12 each. The manicurest had me down for only manicure. My first time and she was doing gel and I thought maybe thatscwhat they only do as I saw no other nail polish. When she was done I said I'm having a pedicure as well and they were looking to find someone else to do it. I said no to pedicure. The poor manicurest did not have good tools and the gel machine kept going off. She was sweet and I did tip her. The front desk told me they were charging me for nails only because he tried to void out my pedicure but it voided both procedures. He tried to explain my experience was bad because someone called off sick and I said it's not very professional to tell me that excuse. I try to support cosmetology schools as I went to one and am still in the business. Please do better with your staff and your customers. read more

My husband is recuperating from a stroke and we love to walk around the Shops at Palm Desert for his exercise and therapy. Recently I had a great experience at Elite when I had a hair cut by Evelyn, so when he needed a haircut we knew where to turn. We walked in this past Saturday and we were greeted right away, and in the barber's area in two minutes, being cared for by Jesus. The styling and the listening by Jesus already show he is going to be a wonderful professional in this field. The instructor stays around to assist and I enjoy the atmosphere because the instructors are very supportive and give suggestions in a gentle way. Jesus did a great job on my husband's hairstyle. It's the best cut ever! We plan to follow Jesus to his next adventure as a barber because his customer care is outstanding. read more

I'm reviewing as a client of the cosmetology school not a student. The services are all held in the 2nd floor. You need to park near and go through Barnes and Noble, enter the mall and turn right. It'll be about 3 stores down. The place is very modern, hip and clean. I came on a Thursday around 545p.m. Every Thursday haircuts are $10. My teenager wanted a trim. They only had one student who could cut hair or do any of the services. They only had one student. That said, she wasn't comfortable cutting my teens hair straight across. She had 4 instructors shadowing her and basically cut the hair. I'm OK with that. The haircut took 30 minutes from hair wash to haircut. She asked if she would like her hair dried. She said yes, and she never did it. Good thing it is 100 plus outside. Anyway, since the mall closes at 7p.m. (weirdest mall hours ever) I asked if she could cut my hair. She went on a break and said she'd do it tomorrow. Again, that is so strange but overall everyone was nice. I would try their nail service or facials next time. read more

It was my first time getting a service at a cosmetology school. I got a facial with Sabrina and it was great. I decided to book a haircut and scalp message the following week. When I got there they told me they couldn't take me because I was scheduled at 3pm and they stop taking people at 2:30pm. I scheduled with the receptionist and called later in the week to confirm. If this is there policy they should have those hours blocked. After confirming No one mentioned anything nor did they bother to call to let me know they wouldn't take me. I even missed another appointment so I could go in for my haircut. It was frustrating because the other receptionist was expecting me, because she was ready to let me know I would not bet getting my service.I do think a teacher should oversee booking and confirm with clients so this inconvenience doesn't happen to others. read more

Feb 3, 2025 After publishing a truthful review of my experience at Elite on Jan 23rd, I received a reply from Joceyn S. asking me to reach out to Jodi to give them another opportunity. Having just done that, I recognize now where the problem lies. Jodi identified herself as the owner and said she was surprised I would want to come back after what she called my "horible review". She was not at all interested in the problem and rudly blamed me for expecting quality service from students. Major attitude! I don't need a cheap haircut that badly. Jan 23, 2025 I had been to Elite once before and had a good experience so I tried again this morning. I had an appointment for 11:30. When I arrived the guy at the desk said I was 8 minutes early and they'd be with me shortly. He asked me to take a seat. There were two people getting haircuts while several people were just wandering around. 11:30 came and went and nobody made any effort to let me know what was going on. At 11:45 I went to the front desk where the gal said some of their students hadn't shown up and they'd overbooked. She said all of them had to take lunch at noon, so it would be 12:30 before anyone was available. I had another appointment so I couldn't wait. I explained this to Moe in the school's executive office downstairs. He apologized, but said they were students. I really enjoy getting my locks trimmed at this place. The staff always greet you upon entry and they immediately seat you. Since this is a school you know the staff are under watchful eyes to make sure you get the best treatment. Their equipment is always new and very clean. If you're thinking of studying to become an esthetician there, please don't. Or at least get your schedule in writing! They signed me up promising half remote and then part time hours DURING the day. They lied to me and said that the paperwork would just have to say something different than what they were allowing me then they threatened to throw me over a contract every single day and charge me something ridiculous like $18.50 an hour after promising, I could attend those days. They lied to me and caused so much stress and anxiety. The new instructor DESIREE was so clicky and mean girl that when I was having panic attacks and crying literally every day because of this unnecessary stress, they put on me by signing me up for a schedule they didn't want to uphold and then pressuring me to come every weekend when they knew I couldn't... they used to laugh at me when I was crying and having panic attacks. I finished their online courses early so I just had to sit in class with no hands on training since the instructor only taught one group class the whole time I was there. Other than that she would pull aside groups of people she thought were ready and do a demo. If you made friends you could do more services. But if you were bullied. You didn't have people to do services on. From being dress coded while wearing the pre-approved colors, to being laughed at for having panic attacks and threatened to be thrown over contract numerous times..... that school was hell. Dax and christina on the cosmo side are very helpful and good instructors, and Mo and Jodi the owners then were also trying to be helpful. It was just a combo of the scheduling and them pressing me to come on days I couldn't... along with the mean girl bullying in class that almost sent me over. read more

I attempted to use their student services 4 times with no luck . Website gives hours for student services such as manicures and pedicures with evening hours and Saturdays, with NO indication of students possibly not being there, let alone 4 TIMES!!!. I've made 4 appts now, the first time, I called on the way over as I have about a 35 min drive, to confirm someone was there to help me, was told yes, last appt is at 7:00pm, got all the way there, parked, walked in mall, to Elite, and there were no students there to do my mani/Pedi. Ok so I made an appt for the following Tues, called B4 I drove there, no students, they called out. Made two more appts, both on Sat's, both times they did call me to tell me no students showed up, or called in sick to do mani/Pedi. Made an appt one more time for the following Tues at 5:30, called again, no students. That's a crazy way to run a business. They're the only ones I know of offering nights and weekend student services at good fair prices but good luck getting in. I wish I could go there for my mani/pedi's,!!!!! I will say that I dealt with EDUARDO 3 of the times, once in person, two by phone and he was great!!!! He really tried to accommodate me but the students flaked. Thanks for trying EDUARDO! read more

Elite school of cosmetology offers students to apply the materials learned in school on actual humans for an inexpensive price. I have used this service for two pedicures, a facial and a message. I was told my first visit that teachers are there to monitor the student and provide assistance as needed. Not true. I had a pedicure done by a student yesterday. She was concentrating her studies as a hair stylist, not nail tech. So, obviously she needed guidance with the location of supplies. She was constantly trying to flag her teacher, her teacher was not very receptive to her questions. She needed help finding base coat and top coat polishes. The ones she found were in poor condition (clumpy, contaminated, bad brush, etc). The instructor told her, "the supplies (base and top) are on order, just make do with what you have." How crappy a school to offer manicures and pedicures, yet not have the needed supplies for their students! The pedi cost $19.25 w/ tax. The tuition I looked up on line is about $9,000 and up! I will not be going back for any survives at this school. I strongly suggest anyone wishing to learn cosmetology to attend a different school. Poor teachers, poor quality of supplies and materials. read more

This was my worst experience getting a pedicure. I came in at 5:30pm and got out at almost 8pm. They didn't have any colors whatsoever & the female that was asking me to pay was extremely rude. I asked for a discount even if it was just $1.00 because they had 4 colors and the paint for the gel was old and rusty. I just happened to pass by their location which was inside the mall, I saw the prices on their facials and at first I was adamant about it because I know it's usually students who does the services, I still went and gave it a try and WOW! It was so relaxing, I did the microdermabrasion and I saw the glow in my face just right after the service. Maria (the student) is like a PRO! She is confident on what she does and she takes time to explain every procedure as well as what product she puts on my face! Very nice experience, the products they used felt good on my skin too. Had a mani-pedi. This is the second time I have done this. Both times they did an awful job, no supervisor, I can do better myself left handed. Total waste of my time. Both students told me they had 4 months to graduate which makes you wonder the quality of students they are turning out. I tipped the student anyway though I really felt she could have done a much better job. Unless you know the person, I would not waste my time on a mani or pedi. The aestheticians, on the other hand, were wonderful. I had a scrub and a hydrating facial. The products smelled great and she did a shoulder, arm, hands and feet massage. I came in for a mani-pedi. The salon was closed when I arrived for my appointment. When they reopened 20 minutes after my appointment I asked why they were closed. The students had a meeting. The receptionist did not seem to think my time mattered or cared in the least to even apologize. The girl who did my nails was incredibly sweet and way too smart to be at this mediocre place. I have to say I was not at all happy with the results (which took almost two hours) and I had to cancel the pedicure because of how long everything took. Went here for just a wash and trim. My hair was originally very long. The girl washing my hair was complaining about how thick and long my hair was. I could easily tell that she really didn't want to be here. She was also very unsure and didn't seem like she was trained enough to cut hair. The appointment took two whole hours, and the teacher had to come and take over cutting my hair. I specifically asked for a TRIM, and ended up having my hair length up to my shoulders.
