ZERO stars. The communication was terrible, the wedding went horribly. DO NOT hire. "Jason" was not…read moremy DJ, he sent someone named Anthony. Attached shows lack of communication days before the wedding Attached is also my day of coordinators email. EMAIL I sent him below: I wanted to reach out regarding several issues we experienced with your services at our wedding on 10/11. Unfortunately, the performance did not meet expectations or the agreed-upon standards, and I wanted to share the specific concerns for your awareness and resolution. Throughout the evening, the DJ repeatedly approached me -- the bride -- with questions and complaints, interrupting my time with family and guests. My coordinator was present and attempting to handle all communication, yet he continued to come to me directly instead of working through her as planned. When we were introduced as husband and wife, the DJ immediately began playing our first dance song without any pause or announcement, leaving no time for guests to be seated or for us to prepare. We had to begin dancing awkwardly right upon entry. During our dance, despite clear instructions in the app to "fade when necessary." I had to personally signal him to fade the song -- during my own first dance. The same issue occurred during the father-daughter AND mother-son dances. He announced the wrong sequence (calling for a "couple's dance" instead of the father-daughter dance) and again required direction from me to fade out the songs at appropriate times. ME THE BRIDE. Additionally, there were significant issues during cocktail hour. The DJ failed to make any announcements or guide guests, resulting in confusion as people began visiting the food truck while we were still taking photos. He also did not play background music consistently, and one of my bridesmaids had to ask him to start playing music while guests were eating. Overall, there was a complete lack of MC presence, coordination, and leadership throughout the evening. It felt as though he had never worked a wedding before, which unfortunately disrupted the flow of our event and created unnecessary stress. I'm bringing these concerns to your attention in hopes of finding a fair resolution. Please let me know how you'd like to proceed. Also attached is my wedding coordinators email that I sent to you in a text which you probably did not read because you were driving.

The portions were quite small as well. Maybe because all the prices have gone up since Covid, the sacrifice is also to serve smaller portions. It's not a place I would rush to first to entertain friends or treat them to dinner.

That's right, we booked Sugar Hill Gang in 2002. What can I say? We had a limited budget. Flash forward 15-years to a much older but not much less clueless me on the hunt for a DJ for our wedding. I immediately remembered how easy it was to work with Vinny and reached out with that awkward "Heyyyyyy, I don't know if you remember me, but..." email. I'm happy to report he remembered me and was as happy to reconnect as I was. During our consultation, we reminisced about the good old times (musicians are full of shenanigans, y'all) and marveled at how much Split Second Sound has grown. Theirs is a story of hard work and determination paying off! When I first worked with Vinny in 2002, he was operating SSS out of his garage. Today, he has a beautiful office space in South Charlotte and a full team of employees. Anyways, I'm rambling. We obviously booked SSS for our wedding DJ needs and were so impressed from beginning to end. All the little details make SSS the best in the business. From the personalized chalk board sign welcoming us for our first consultation to their interactive website where you can provide details for run of show, must-play songs along with don't-you-dare-play songs, everything was a pleasure with them. We loved our DJ Anthony and his assistant Danielle. They were fun and interactive and probably most importantly kept us on track all night long!
