Never met a team so passionate about jackets before! This event definitely got me more interested in the craftsmanship that goes into bespoke pieces. Lovely night. The casino vibes paired so perfectly. Looking forward to coming back and learning more.

This was hands down my favorite event from my 3+ year Yelp elite journey. Thank you Alan, Katey, and everyone else who made this possible. From the food to the drinks to the very legitimate casino tables, this was really a spectacular event. My favorite portion of the evening however was speaking with the staff at Alan David, whether it was hearing about business specifics (the difference between higher end wool), the nuances of how they approach the different measurements, hearing Alan himself tell us about what truly makes a bespoke experience, and even personally connecting with others outside of the bespoke suit world. Simply a 1000/10 experience, I can't than everyone enough.

Thank you Alan David, your entire team, Yelp, Katey G., Emily, for making this truly amazing event, outstanding at so many levels. Wonderful being introduced to Alan David Custom's method of tailoring, me being totally unfamiliar with the "bespoke" process, which provides a level of care in ensuring that the clothes you'll get fit well and look exceptional, resulting from the special attention provided by the person who's actually making the suit for you. Wow! Alan, highly appreciate this craft you and your family have continued. Remarkable endurance for such a business during such changing times - it speaks of the quality of your work and something to be proud of. (Note - My great grandfather was the last of the tailors in my family, closing shop in the '50s.) Sincerely hope us Yelpers can bring the attention your mastered business deserves. Of course, huge thanks for the custom fitting plus the special, really generous gift for everyone! You're also a super host with that fun Casino Night, food, drink, etc. (Admittedly, my gambling strategy needs to be honed if I'm ever going to do it with my real money.) Glad to meet all the other Yelpers, too! My personal applause for the evening Alan, everyone at Alan David Custom, Yelp, Katey G., and Emily!

Wow! Just wow. Completely speechless with the caliber of this event. Unbelievable fun, from the open bar to catering and learning from Alan David. To top it off, table games for a chance to win custom shirts. If it wasn't for Yelp, I would not have known about Alan David and the world of custom made suits. By the end of the night, I learned about what it takes to make custom clothes and met some incredible folks. A final surprise which I did not expect was like "Oprah-esque" IYKYK. What a way to cap the year off! Thank you Katey and team!

What an amazing event! Quality fitting, with many accurate measurements. Besides the history and awesome setting, the food and casino were great as well. Only the top 3 got custom fitted dress shirts. I got too degenerate and played big hands on blackjack to catch up, but ended up bankrupt. Food included sushi rolls, chow mein, general gao chicken, some fruits and salad.

Probably the best event I've ever been too! I didn't know much about suits and gambling but after this event I know so much about both. It was super fun an informative. The staff and everyone there were so great and knowledgeable. Huge shout out to Alan and Katey for planning this event. I cant wait to come back to Alan David!

I didn't know what to expect for this event. But I'm so glad I was able to experience it. I learned so much about tailoring and craps. Thank you to the entire staff for staying late to help us. I'll definitely be back when its time to get a custom suit and will recommend to others looking for one as well.

    Alper O.

Absolutely unbelievable. This was my first Yelp Elite event and this one set the bar extremely high. Alan and the team at Alan David Custom Tailors along with Katey made this event unforgettable. Everyone was so welcoming and I was able to have so much fun and dip my toes into the world of Yelp Elite. I am so excited for future events and to come back to Alan David once again.

It is really more effort than it seems to make these shapely bagels, after rolling 5-6 bagels each, we took our shapely creations to the bagel cook space to be boiled, spiced, and baked. Everyone had a try at either flipping them into the hot boiling water, scooping them out, or spicing the bagels. Total team effort under the watchful eye of Rory! The next part of the tour involved an inside scoop into the kitchen space, the fridge where bagels proof, a bagel historical lesson, and finally some little known facts on bagels which was really enlightening. Will was an awesome guide, taking us on a century long tour of the bagel history. The topper was being able to try some of the bagels we made with all the accompaniments! And after perusing the menu, I also ordered the Sliders and Pork Skewers. The food smelled so good that I ended up scarfing down one of the Lumpia on my walk to the subway. The Lumpia was easily my favorite out of the items I took home. They come 6 pieces per order and were massive, easily double the size of normal Lumpia. The Beef Tapa came with rice, fried egg and slices of tomatoes and cucumbers. The meat was flavorful, and this was a hearty dish. The items I paid for were also quite good. The sliders came two per order in the bright purple Ube buns. So very tasty. The Pork Skewers were great and paired well with the vinegar dipping sauce. I honestly think that I prefer this location over their Broome St location. The food just tasted better. After hearing presentations from some members of the corporate team it was clear that the event was organized to promote restaurants in the area, as well as Yelp's reservation platform. What was really awesome is that Yelp also donated $250 for every restaurant that had a representative show up to City Harvest, which is New York City's largest food rescue organization, feeding the more than 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. Beer, Bourborn, and BBQ 2012 - what the hell happened last night?…read more Good God, exactly how much booze did I drink last night? I honestly don't even remember leaving or saying goodbye to anyone. My bad, but when one is presented with a ridiculously unlimited amount of good craft beers and terrific bourbons your mind kinda gets erased. My hangover has finally subsided and the JACKHAMMER has been removed from my brain. I do have to say right off the bat that I think they oversold the event a bit this year. Sure, it was packed, and very crowded, but not so much so that you could not get a glass of beer or bourbon quickly throught the venue. Our group drank A LOT before we even decided to get some grub in our bellies. We even hit up a bourbon tasting class where one who shall remain nameless pretty much spilled everything onto her crotch. I even bought a viking helmet hat to wear. Drunken fun times! The food lines were another story - ridiculously long and slow moving. Sure, I had some decent pulled pork from one stand right out of a pig carcass, but the best was from the Kloby's BBQ booth where the line was the longest. Gotta give it to Monique R for holding her ground on that long line amid some drunken fools and line cutters to secure a few plates of amazingly tasty hush puppies, pulled pork and coleslaw sandwiches, and pork rib wings. Worth the wait even though it cut into our drinking time, but we needed to eat something to help soak up all the alcohol. Our group had a great time. There were so many terrific beers and bourbons on hand. Many of the staff would even fill your tasting glass to the brim. All you could consume for four hours - wonderful or insanity - it's all how you look at it. So worth it when paying half price, 2 for 1 tickets, or discounted tickets. You have to be a noob to pay full price for any of these events as there are always offers on different websites with big discounts. But to charge $3 for the coat check is kind of a money grab, even though it was nice to ditch our heavy winter gear. We came, we drank, we ate pork, we pillaged and plundered. Looking forward to doing it all over again next year. Oh, and kids, here's a tip for you all. When you are totally blasted outta your mind on bourbon and beer it's not really a great time for an Italian-Norwegian to fight with your Russian-Polish fiance' out on the street. There is just too much stubborn hard headedness in that combination for any good to come out of it.

Like every food tasting event you go to in NYC, get there early and hit up all the food lines before they get really long later on (usually 2 hrs in). Plus you need food to soak all the alcohol you're going to drink. The highlight of the night was definitely the whole hog. They also have brisket, pork belly, bacon, fried chicken/waffles, wings, bread pudding, and cornbread. There were definitely more beer vendors than bourbon vendors. The beers were mainly local from New York and East Coast breweries. I liked the high end bourbons since they went down smoother and didn't totally burn my throat. You will definitely eat and drink enough in the time so then you go home to pass out from barbecue coma.
