WOW! What a lovely day from beginning to end. From the drive to the pampering, I have so many…read morewonderful things to share. A great big thank you to Uber Brisbane for getting us safely up and down Clear Mountain. This was my first time using the Uber app and boy was I excited when it told me that a driver had been found and en route to pick me up. When the driver has been 'hired' his photo, name, and rating will pop up. It will then allow for you to contact him via call or message among other things. My driver was Glen and he got out of his car to greet me and opened my door before heading to pick up my friend around the corner. He was so friendly and we had a great chat about Uber, university degrees, and the spa! We had a great experience with Glen to say the least. Just as the other ladies said, we were greeted SO warmly by THE Stephanie of Stephanies Spas and her passionate staff. We had welcome champagne and the viewed was just incredible. I loved seeing the Glasshouse Mountains and Samsonvale Lake. It's nearly 360 but I didn't see the other half (guess I will have to go back). We were given tours of the facilities which include six different treatment rooms that include a triple treatment room, bordeaux VIP lounge and bath suite, steam therapy lounge, hydro swiss shower room and a sole therapy and manicure lounge. They shared with us the different packages, rewards card, and all the birthday specials coming up as Stephanies is celebrating 20 years in the business! After all the tours, we were invited to change into robes and get ready for our treatments. We could either have a back and scalp massage or a foot and scalp massage. While we were waiting, we were offered more champagne withs strawberries, tea, orange juice, and some sweets. Naturally, we all started chatting and it was a super informative conversation sharing our favorite places, telling Stephanie all about Yelp (she wants to be a Yelper too), and debates over over-rated places! Lani also gave us some Jax CoCo for hydrating purposes while we waited. My treatment of a back and scalp massage was pretty nice and I only wish it had been longer! They have a brief consultation with you prior to your treatment and ask you questions in case you'd like to focus on one area. I like how the rooms were set-up with dim lighting and music to create a peaceful ambience. After everyone finished with their treatments, Stephanie gathered us together to thank us for coming and gave us all gift bags to take home with us! All of us were so excited to learn that we had anti-wrinkle creams we could test out. The day flew by but I was able to take my mind off everything on my to do list for a few hours and enjoy the present. Thank you SO much to Lani for all her hard work! I know for Sara and I, we loved the entire experience and we would have never even known about this place had it not been for you so THANK YOU from our spa loving hearts!

Who can say no to an afternoon of pampering with a group of wonderful women? I anticipated the day…read morewith longing for a few hours of pampering and a mini getaway but little did I know that the location would be so spectacular and the whole event would be such an awesome afternoon. We chose to drive ourselves up the mountain and were glad that we had a few minutes spare before the event started to check out the stunning views. Really the location of this spa and property is an awesome spot to have a weekend getaway feeling like you are a world away from home but less than 30 minutes drive in reality. Add to that Stephanie's Spa at Clear Mountain lodge is a little spot of heaven in a beautiful location. Stephanie herself and her crew of amazing therapists went out of their way to host us and the care and passion that they all have for their business is evident in everything that they do. The vouchers, the gift bag, the glasses of champagne.... they really did turn it on for us and value the contribution that we as yelpers can make to their business. I also loved our hydration courtesy of a very cool and funky bottle of Jax CoCo water. A nice refresher before having to drive back down the mountain. It was sad to leave when the evening came to a close, but both Becca and I declared we'll be back to Stephanie's at least twice in the coming months and I think there may be a change of location for the impending wedding as a part of this wonderful day. Who could resist such a stunning location? Once again Lani you have outdone yourself in planning a stunning event. It was wonderful to get to know some of my fellow elite yelpers a little bit more with such an interactive and chilled out environment. Each time I join in with these group activities I thank my friend for getting me involved and struggle to remember life in a pre-yelp state. I'm so much more engaged with what is going on around me in our town and meeting new people who have similar interests and I love it. I can't wait for the next Yelp Elite event and another wonderful experience.

Love that this wasn't a typical location, but still had…read moreall of the necessities: Quality Yelpers - check Rad Yelp CM - check Nibblies - check Booze - check Games - check Yelp Swag - you know it I arrived a bit late to actually join in on the Yelp bingo but still tried to help a few people with their bingo card. I have to say the red vino - Wirra Wirra Mrs. Wigley - how cute is that name?! was killer (I personally don't like white wine, but thankfully there were two options...and I even saw nonalcoholic options as well). The cheese and crackers were also killer, I don't even know what cheeses there were cuz I'm obviously a fatty and just eat anything put in front of me -but one of them in particular was to die for. And one of the crackers was awesome too...kind of wafer like? Don't even get me started on the sweets, I totes took a little brownie for the road :P ALSO! Totally loved that people were actually doing their laundry at the event (normal people....not yelpers) it made it so authentic. Made it fun to have the washers and dryers going! If I didn't have a washer/dryer in my apartment I'd totally consider hitting up the Laundrette - too cute to pass up. Thanks Lani for an awesome event in an unlikely space!

What a good day!…read more Tucked in Gerads Lane there were many things to see, taste and the stall holders were all lovely! I walked away with a sampler pack of fruit jellies from Playing with Fire, some Thyme and Ginger beer soda Syrup from Old Fashioned Co and managed to score a signed copy of The Huxtaburger Book and a burger as made by the author and chef Daniel Wilson who was in-store at Scrumptious Reads. All in all a great day and I'd love to see more of these happen as it was really good to see and meet the faces behind some local products!

I've been meaning to get to the Barre Brisbane studio since it opened, and now I know the Spring…read moreHill Baths studio is so close to the city I really have no excuse for not testing out their classes earlier... See, this is what I love about Elite events like this one, it's the extra push to make it somewhere I've had my eye on but not quite made it to (the lure of post-exercise bubbly always helps), and we got to try out a class in an intimate environment that made it easy to relax and enjoy. Well, 'relax' is probably generous, there was definitely some core, glute, and thigh shaking and burning that reminded me we were attempting to work out and not just limbering up for the good old back bar bicep curls. The experience was different, but definitely not scary different, so I would absolutely encourage the squad to check out Brisbane Barre (and bring togs to cool off in the baths after) and any similar Yelp and Elite events in the future!
