Thank you Yelp and Nando's for such a great event! I was luck to be accepted into session 2 for this event. There was a small delay to getting the event started but it was well worth the wait. Once we were scanned in and allowed into the building, we received two drink tickets. The staff was already working on drinks so there wouldn't be a long wait. They provided a nice selection of beer, wine and cocktails as well as mocktails. Once everyone was seated the staff wasted no time bringing out the food. We started with the garlic bread and halloumi sticks with chilli jam. I was really surprised how they elevated the taste of something so simple. Next came the chicken, mac & cheese, rice, and brussels sprouts. First let me say everything was served hot and fresh! The chicken was cooked perfect! Nice char marks on the crispy skin with the meat still being juicy and tender. There was no need to add any sauce to this chicken! It was great just as it was. The Mac and cheese was also on point. Perfect amount of cheese and saucy. Meaning it wasn't watery but it wasn't dry, it was just right. The brussels sprouts were cooked just right as well, however I think there was too much peri ranch sauce on them. The sauce had great flavor but I think less wouldn't have been more in this case. Now the rice was the only item I think fell short. It wasn't bad but with everything else having so much flavor the rice just didn't come close to having a chance of standing out. Just when I thought it was over, they came out with desert! The Naughty Nata was amazing! This traditional Portuguese cluster tart was served freshly out the oven and was delicious. I really think the cinnamon sugar is what really makes it stand out. Once again thank you Nando's and all the staff that work so hard to make this a great event. I will definitely be coming back!
After checking out Nando's in the Galleria area for its Elite Event about a year ago for, I was hyped that Nando's opened up a new location in Montrose and that we got to experience another YEE with them! I was part of Session 2, which was scheduled to start at 8:00. We were running a little late and arrived at about 8:10; as there was still a line, we hopped to the back and were finally let in around 8:15 to receive our drink tickets and find our assigned seating. Our booth had a great time conversing and sharing our thoughts on the food. There was a no-show at our table, so between 3 of us, we had more than enough food to go around. As soon as I sat down, they had already delivered garlic sticks, halloumi sticks, chili jam, and olives to our table. This was a nice starter. The garlic sticks were standard garlic bread cut into sticks; spreading the chili jam across gave it a nice kick! The halloumi sticks had a good consistency although cheese sticks aren't something I'd go out of my way to order. The olives had a nice spice to them. For the entrees, we received lemon & herb chicken leg quarters and mango & lime chicken thigh skewers. These were both very tender, however the seasoning was quite subtle. This necessitated the use of their sauces even more, which are what they are known for. They had 6 sauces available to choose from - my favorite was the medium hot, which gave the chicken just the right amount of extra spice. For sides, we had brussels sprouts, Portuguese rice, and mac & cheese. The brussels sprouts had a great seasoning to them, and I found myself eating a good amount of these. The Portuguese rice is similar to Mexican rice but with less tomato base. And the Mac & cheese was fantastic - I could eat a whole bowl of this alone. Finally for dessert, we had the Portuguese egg tarts. These are very similar to the Chinese egg tarts that are plentiful in Chinatown. My tablemate Kelvin enlightened me that Hong Kong style egg tarts are not so sweet and have a more burnt custard top. Which I agreed with after trying these egg tarts, as they were indeed on the sweeter side. Drinks were ticketed at 2 per person, and they had a wide selection available to choose from. I had their merlot first, which was surprisingly a very good merlot for being on tap. Next I tried their Mango Rosalita, which was a frozen drink made with tequila. I really liked this one! It would be perfect for cooling off on a hot day in Houston. Compared to the Elite Event at the Galleria-area Nando's last year, this one didn't have as many food offerings to try. However the service knocked it out of the park. You could tell ALL of the staff took pride in their work and truly enjoyed what they were doing. They regularly came around to check on us and when asked, brought things to the table with a smile. This alone would prompt me to make a return visit soon. Thanks to Jando and the team at Nando's Montrose for hosting us Elites for a fantastic Tuesday night event. I'll always be a fan and look forward to returning to get my peri-peri chicken fix.
This was such an awesome event!! I've been hearing of Nando's for quite some time and it's been on the list, so when I saw it for a YEE, I was super excited!! I love Peri Peri Chicken, so I knew it couldn't go wrong!! From start to finish, this was a wonderful event!! We checked in on time, and when you walk in, you're greeted by Nadia, handing out the most important thing, drink tickets!!! As you make your way in, all the vibrant colors of the restaurant just fill you up with excitement! The music was super lively and made you just want to dance! We made our way to the bar for our first round, before wisking ourselves around the restaurant to find our assigned seating!! One thing that I will stand on business with, is Jandito knows how to assign seats like nobody's business!! He gets groups of tables together so well, with the new and the old, so we can commingle and meet more of our fellow elites, and I am here for it!!! We had a fabulous table, with a newbie, shoutout to Sara on her first event!! As we sat down at our tables, we already had some bites waiting for us. We had some mixed olives, garlic bread and halloumi cheese!! That garlic bread slapped somebody's mama bc it was so good!! So was the cheese, and although I didn't try the olives, they were beautifully plated and just needed to be throw into a shaker with gin or vodka! Anywho, as the night went on, everything came out family style, so on the first round, we got to try the peri peri chicken, mac n cheese, rice, and Brussels sprouts. All of which was amazing. The chicken was super tender and went great with the lemon garlic sauce and the regular garlic sauce! The Mac and cheese was my favorite side dish! I add some onto that garlic bread, and flavor bomb galore!! Give me ten more please!! I thought this would be are only times for the night, but then came out some mango lime kabobs and they were too, delicious! Super tender, the onion and red pepper charred just enough!! Lastly the dessert! I'm not sure what it was, but it was the perfect few bites. It was nice and warm, fluffy and a little crisp! Just sweet enough, not overly, which is right up my alley!! The whole night we danced in our seats as we chowed down!! Bernardo and his staff are rockstars!! Tiffany kept our table clean, constantly picking up dirty dishes, and asking if we needed anything. The whole staff was hustling the whole night like a well oiled machine!! Thank you so much for such a great evening of food, drinks, and good convos!! Great time at Nando's I've been to an elite event at the Galleria Nando's before and really liked it, so this was a no-brainer to attend. The chicken is really good, tender and flavorful. Even without all the great sauce options, the chicken is still solid. I also really liked the fried cheese and the Brussel sprouts. Those lil dessert tarts were surprisingly good too! My table spent some time getting to know Manny, the NRO, and he told us about his come up from cook to a restaurant opener. It was great talking with him and he really made it a fun experience! Our server Damian, was really great as well. He kept the food and drinks coming and was a pleasure to deal with all night. This location really has it together. From the food to the service everything was 5 star. S/O Jando and the elite crew for another fun event. I will definitely be back to support this location in particular. Good people and good times!
What an amazing experience! The food was wonderful. The sangria had a complex flavor to it, balanced between sweet and bitter combination. The cheese and jam was a bit much, but the apps were redeemed by the olives which were delicious. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, though a bit salty. The creaminess was perfect and the crunchiness from the bread crumbs really made the dish stand out. The rice had a perfect spice level. Brussels sprouts could have been crispier and were drenched in sauce. Bit too much for me. Strong recommend on the periperi with the garlic sauce. Perfectly moist and juicy. I really enjoyed the service. Everyone was quick, professional, and helpful with any questions I had. I also appreciated the designated seating arrangements. It made it easier to meet new people which is a goal of mine at these events. Overall a great even. Truly a hit!
Can we do this every week please? What a great event at the new Nando's Montrose! First: parking. Even though they have 2 parking lots, you may need to consider street parking because it is pretty busy. We walked up to Nando's and were greeted by Jando who checked us in and made sure everyone got their 2 drink tickets. We had assigned seating which led to making new friends! The food was served family style and we got to try: -Halloumi Sticks and Chilli Jam: definitely a different taste -Garlic Sticks: Sooo good! -Spicy Mixed Olives -Portuguese Rice -Crispy Brussels Sprouts: some of the best I've ever had! -PERi Mac -Flame-grilled, skin-on chicken: very tasty! For drinks, we were able to choose from tap beer, wine, sangria or lemonade. The restaurant's decor is pretty unique and Insta-worthy. Huge shoutout to the staff as they were kind, friendly and seemed very happy to have us there. Thank you SO much for an amazing experience that reminds me why it is so neat to be Elite!
Such a great event!!!! I want to add a disclaimer that I have been to the nando's in galleria area previously. I am reviewing this one in slightly comparing the two. So here we go. Parking is there, but it is limited. I highly recommend an Uber or the like. It just makes life a little bit easier not having to worry about figuring out where you going to park, how much you're going to pay, or if your car will fit in the spots. Walking in, we really did appreciate the decor. It was very well lit, and the lighting was good. The fixtures that they had were one of a kind, they gave it grandiose feeling to areas of the dining room. The facility itself was extremely clean. This was a seated event, with strategically placed names throughout. I really enjoy these types of events because it requires people to leave their comfort zone just a little bit and meet new people and interact. I happen to have a fantastic table with some great people. Conversation was lively, and everyone's etiquette was on point. Food was served family style. We started with a baked cheese, paired with what appears to be a berry jam. The also had bread spears. Once those were knocked out, they came through with the main. They had the food portioned out to feed 4 people over area. Just right for a meal, not enough to get stuffed. The chicken was delicious.It was moist and flavorful, it did not need any sauce at all. We really enjoyed it. We actually tried the sauces, but I didn't find even the hottest sauce to be spicy. It had vinegar flavoring, but not true heat. Luckily we tried it for novelty and not necessity. The brussel sprouts were fantastic. Very flavorful, and cooked just right. The mac n cheese was average, which is pretty standard. I can't remember the last time I had a mac n cheese that was amazing. The Naughty Nata desserts were very good. Fresh custard pastries. Overall great event! This had less food than the previous event at their other location, but it was a far better experience and the food was better in my opinion. Not to hate, just showing love for the changes made, and work that's been done to improve the experience. Thank you to Nandos for inviting us in and taking care of us, we really enjoyed it! Seriously what a great and intimate event! Now, the parking was brutal (took me a couple of laps around the event space before I could find a nice spot) but I would say the event made it all feel worth it. Check in process was seamless. Decor was super cute! Staff were seriously so friendly and attentive! I was skeptical about us being out of there in time due to the tardy start for some of us but the staff was superrrrr efficient! The timing of everything was perfect. The food was also amazing. I absolutely loved the combination of menu items that were presented for the event I wouldn't change a single thing (went to sleep dreaming about those brussels btw). The appetizers were so perfect. Those were singlehandedly some of the best olives I've had. Cheese was also so good and paired well with the jam, just *chefs kiss*.Chicken was moist and flavorful as were the skewers. I also think it's such a cool concept that they specialize in sauces. The macaroni, rice, and mashed potatoes proved to be pretty good side additions as well (though the brussel sprouts stole the show). Dessert was yummy and light which I feel was a perfect pairing with the spread we had. I would fully endorse this location. Would 1000% attend an event like this again. Would 1000% come back to see the lovely staff and enjoy the delicious food. Amazing job Nando's! Amazing job Yelp Team! I loved every bit of this experience!
I honestly can't count the number of times I've been to Nando's in my life, but it's definitely been at least five times this year alone. I actually had this location's food a few weeks ago when they first opened! I don't know if it's a consistency thing, but every time I've had the Galleria location, I've walked away disappointed. Meanwhile, the Katy and Montrose locations always taste just like what I remember from my summer trips to the UK. This spot is so pretty! I didn't realize until the GM mentioned it that every Nando's has a completely different interior design. Parking was a bit of a struggle because of the event, but I don't think it'd be like that on a regular day. We were served the halloumi sticks, garlic bread, and olives to start. I don't know what it is about Nando's garlic bread- because let's be real, all garlic bread is good, but theirs just hits different. It's not overly crispy and has the perfect garlic-and-herb flavor all throughout. It's just... perfect! Of course, the chicken was great, but I was honestly most excited about the sides. I already knew I loved their rice, brussels sprouts, and mac and cheese, but I didn't know about the potatoes- and now I'm officially a fan of that too! The brussels sprouts seem to be flash-fried and come with this creamy sauce, but they're flavorful even without it. And let's not forget the Naughty Natas at the end. They were bringing those out fresh... the custard inside was actually warm. YUM. And that cinnamon sugar on top? They did not hold back!
I went to the 2nd session. It started late. This was my first event where we had assigned seating. The decor is very colorful both inside and outside the restaurant. We go in, they provide 2 drink tickets, and we order our drinks. We find our seats and then they bring out the appetizers: olives, halloumi with chili jam, and garlic bread. Then the chicken platter comes with skewers with mango lime and lemon and herb flavors. It came with mac and cheese, rice, and brussel sprouts. They end the meal with the delicious Portuguese egg tart. I was full towards the end. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thanks to Nando's and Jando for this special event.
Thoroughly enjoyed this Yelp event! Thank you to Jando, Nando's and Yelp for a fantastic dinner experience! There was only a few options given for drinks, but when I eventually got a drink, I was offered all of the different drinks that they had. I ended up going with a mango lemon limeade, which was delicious and also got to try the honey lavender, not bad. The first thing we had was a cheese dish which came with some sort of fruit spread, as well as some garlic bread, which was delicious. Then we had the main course with sides, which was quarter chicken pieces, Brussel sprouts, rice, and mashed potatoes. Later, we found out that we were missing the macaroni and cheese so we got that later on as well. And also they gave us a couple of chicken shishkebabs. One table member found us all the sauces so we got to try them. My favorite was mild. Everything was delicious! The quarter chickens were amazing and we were so grateful that we all got the heaping helping of chicken. My favorite side was the brussels sprouts. I'm also a huge fan of mashed potatoes and these mashed potatoes tasted authentic and not from a box so I was really glad that we were able to have mashed potatoes. The final dish was an egg custard. That was also delicious! It was warm and flaky and creamy on the inside. The whole event was very well organized, staff was friendly and the restaurant representative gave high words for his employer. I also got to meet some new people and had some great convo, which is always a plus. A great experience overall! Thanks again Jando, Nando's and Yelp!!
Thank you Jando and Yelp for another great event! We were in session 2. It got started a little late but as soon as the event started, it ran smoothly so I appreciate that they made sure everything was ready to go, even if that meant delaying a little bit. The cocktails were surprisingly good. The mango frozen cocktail was delicious and the right amount of sweet. The sangria was fruity and had a hint of cinnamon flavor to it. I loved them both. The food did not disappoint. The garlic sticks was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Grilled Halloumi Cheese Sticks tasted like paneer and the fruitiness of the of dip was a nice contrast to the saltiness of the cheese. For the mains, the peri chicken has great flavor to it. The mango chicken skewer wasn't my favorite, but more of a personal preference and not a reflection of the food quality. The sides were great! The Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were my favorite part of the meal. The staff were attentive and very efficient when timing the food. All in all, this was a great event with great food, friends, and drinks! Thank you again for a great experience!
What a lovely Tuesday night! I love seated events because I get to meet new friends. Generally, when there are multiple sessions for an event, I expect the first session to run over time, but I was pleasantly surprised when we ended on time (or even earlier!!). They were well-prepared for us and very efficient. As for the food, I really enjoyed the super moist chicken with their sauces. The brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and garlic bread were just as yummy. The egg tart was the perfect way to end our meal. We also got a freebie at the end. They were v generous and gifted us meal vouchers!! Thanks Jando and Nando's for having us :)

What a nice way to spend a cool November regular Tuesday evening. Thank you Yelp Houston, Jando, Bernardo, Nadia, and the team at Nando's. I was not surprised at the packed parking lot since it's shared with the other businesses. I parked a few blocks away. My car was fine, no problem there. This business decided to stay open for regular customers. I respect them for being able to service customers & keep money flowing in plus host the event. The seemed pretty well staffed to do so. This was a sit down event, which is my 2nd fav type of event, outside of an Elite week. Got to mingle with some yelpers I haven't met yet, and familiar faces. Drinks: Honey lavender lemonade & mango juice. Starters: Olives/Fried cheese/garlic bread Entrée Family Style: Chicken platter Brussel sprouts Rice Mac & cheese Kebab Egg custard Food was yum, def left full and satisfied. This is popular spot in the UK. It was my first time visitng. I enjoyed nearly every dish. I like that they had various kinds of sauces for our chicken from mild to hot. And it was reallt nice of them to give us a coupon for half off chicken, a tote bag, drink, keychain for swag. Bernardo & Nadia were gracious hosts, circled alot and made sure we had everything we needed, and got all the food the other tables got. Out table was hungry and we left no crumbs behind. It was good to be back at Nando's but this time at their new location in Montrose! Very well organized event. I attended the first session and we were served the appetizers the moment we were seated. The staff were friendly and attentive. My favorite of the night was the mango lemon chicken skewers. Chicken meat was still moist and delish with Nando's assorted sauces. The lemon herb chicken was also a stand out item, also moist. The chef did a great job cooking the chicken to perfection tonight. The side brussels sprouts, rice, and macaroni were also perf for the main entree. It was a great dinner event overall. We had a great time at our table. Well executed event with a full sit down table service meal/feast and good company. Parking was a bit of a struggle but once we got to the venue it was a great time. We grabbed drinks and sat in assigned seats. The drinks were a bit sweet but I added some ice and it was great. We started with mixed olives and introduced ourselves to our tablemates, Christy and Eric. Great conversation with good food. The stand out for me was the Halloumi Sticks with Chili Jam. The savory cheese and sweet and spicy jam paired well. I also enjoyed the Naughty Nata custard tart. It's similar to a Chinese egg tart but sweeter. The chicken was well executed, flavorful, moist and tender. We also enjoyed the variety of dipping sauces; wild herb and garlic. The mashed potatoes had the least bold flavor and since we had so much food I chose not to fill up and save room for the rest of the items. read more

My table spent some time getting to know Manny, the NRO, and he told us about his come up from cook to a restaurant opener. It was great talking with him and he really made it a fun experience! Our server Damian, was really great as well. He kept the food and drinks coming and was a pleasure to deal with all night. This location really has it together. From the food to the service everything was 5 star. S/O Jando and the elite crew for another fun event. I will definitely be back to support this location in particular. What an amazing experience! The food was wonderful. The sangria had a complex flavor to it, balanced between sweet and bitter combination. The cheese and jam was a bit much, but the apps were redeemed by the olives which were delicious. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, though a bit salty. The creaminess was perfect and the crunchiness from the bread crumbs really made the dish stand out. The rice had a perfect spice level. Brussels sprouts could have been crispier and were drenched in sauce. Bit too much for me. Strong recommend on the periperi with the garlic sauce. Perfectly moist and juicy. I really enjoyed the service. Everyone was quick, professional, and helpful with any questions I had. I also appreciated the designated seating arrangements. It made it easier to meet new people which is a goal of mine at these events. Overall a great even. Truly a hit! read more

Can we do this every week please? What a great event at the new Nando's Montrose! First: parking. Even though they have 2 parking lots, you may need to consider street parking because it is pretty busy. We walked up to Nando's and were greeted by Jando who checked us in and made sure everyone got their 2 drink tickets. We had assigned seating which led to making new friends! The food was served family style and we got to try: -Halloumi Sticks and Chilli Jam: definitely a different taste -Garlic Sticks: Sooo good! -Spicy Mixed Olives -Portuguese Rice -Crispy Brussels Sprouts: some of the best I've ever had! -PERi Mac -Flame-grilled, skin-on chicken: very tasty! For drinks, we were able to choose from tap beer, wine, sangria or lemonade. The restaurant's decor is pretty unique and Insta-worthy. Huge shoutout to the staff as they were kind, friendly and seemed very happy to have us there. Thank you SO much for an amazing experience that reminds me why it is so neat to be Elite! read more
Such a great event!!!! I want to add a disclaimer that I have been to the nando's in galleria area previously. I am reviewing this one in slightly comparing the two. So here we go. Parking is there, but it is limited. I highly recommend an Uber or the like. It just makes life a little bit easier not having to worry about figuring out where you going to park, how much you're going to pay, or if your car will fit in the spots. Walking in, we really did appreciate the decor. It was very well lit, and the lighting was good. The fixtures that they had were one of a kind, they gave it grandiose feeling to areas of the dining room. The facility itself was extremely clean. This was a seated event, with strategically placed names throughout. I really enjoy these types of events because it requires people to leave their comfort zone just a little bit and meet new people and interact. I happen to have a fantastic table with some great people. Conversation was lively, and everyone's etiquette was on point. Food was served family style. We started with a baked cheese, paired with what appears to be a berry jam. The also had bread spears. Once those were knocked out, they came through with the main. They had the food portioned out to feed 4 people over area. Just right for a meal, not enough to get stuffed. The chicken was delicious.It was moist and flavorful, it did not need any sauce at all. We really enjoyed it. We actually tried the sauces, but I didn't find even the hottest sauce to be spicy. It had vinegar flavoring, but not true heat. Luckily we tried it for novelty and not necessity. The brussel sprouts were fantastic. Very flavorful, and cooked just right. The mac n cheese was average, which is pretty standard. I can't remember the last time I had a mac n cheese that was amazing. The Naughty Nata desserts were very good. Fresh custard pastries. Overall great event! This had less food than the previous event at their other location, but it was a far better experience and the food was better in my opinion. Not to hate, just showing love for the changes made, and work that's been done to improve the experience. Thank you to Nandos for inviting us in and taking care of us, we really enjoyed it! Seriously what a great and intimate event! Now, the parking was brutal (took me a couple of laps around the event space before I could find a nice spot) but I would say the event made it all feel worth it. Check in process was seamless. Decor was super cute! Staff were seriously so friendly and attentive! I was skeptical about us being out of there in time due to the tardy start for some of us but the staff was superrrrr efficient! The timing of everything was perfect. The food was also amazing. I absolutely loved the combination of menu items that were presented for the event I wouldn't change a single thing (went to sleep dreaming about those brussels btw). The appetizers were so perfect. Those were singlehandedly some of the best olives I've had. Cheese was also so good and paired well with the jam, just *chefs kiss*.Chicken was moist and flavorful as were the skewers. I also think it's such a cool concept that they specialize in sauces. The macaroni, rice, and mashed potatoes proved to be pretty good side additions as well (though the brussel sprouts stole the show). Dessert was yummy and light which I feel was a perfect pairing with the spread we had. I would fully endorse this location. Would 1000% attend an event like this again. I honestly can't count the number of times I've been to Nando's in my life, but it's definitely been at least five times this year alone. I actually had this location's food a few weeks ago when they first opened! I don't know if it's a consistency thing, but every time I've had the Galleria location, I've walked away disappointed. Meanwhile, the Katy and Montrose locations always taste just like what I remember from my summer trips to the UK. This spot is so pretty! I didn't realize until the GM mentioned it that every Nando's has a completely different interior design. Parking was a bit of a struggle because of the event, but I don't think it'd be like that on a regular day. We were served the halloumi sticks, garlic bread, and olives to start. I don't know what it is about Nando's garlic bread- because let's be real, all garlic bread is good, but theirs just hits different. It's not overly crispy and has the perfect garlic-and-herb flavor all throughout. It's just... perfect! Of course, the chicken was great, but I was honestly most excited about the sides. I already knew I loved their rice, brussels sprouts, and mac and cheese, but I didn't know about the potatoes- and now I'm officially a fan of that too! The brussels sprouts seem to be flash-fried and come with this creamy sauce, but they're flavorful even without it. And let's not forget the Naughty Natas at the end. They were bringing those out fresh... the custard inside was actually warm. YUM. And that cinnamon sugar on top? They did not hold back! read more
I went to the 2nd session. It started late. This was my first event where we had assigned seating. The decor is very colorful both inside and outside the restaurant. We go in, they provide 2 drink tickets, and we order our drinks. We find our seats and then they bring out the appetizers: olives, halloumi with chili jam, and garlic bread. Then the chicken platter comes with skewers with mango lime and lemon and herb flavors. It came with mac and cheese, rice, and brussel sprouts. They end the meal with the delicious Portuguese egg tart. I was full towards the end. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Thanks to Nando's and Jando for this special event. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed this Yelp event! Thank you to Jando, Nando's and Yelp for a fantastic dinner experience! Inside was so colorful and upon entering, we were greeted very warmly and handed two drink tickets. There was only a few options given for drinks, but when I eventually got a drink, I was offered all of the different drinks that they had. I ended up going with a mango lemon limeade, which was delicious and also got to try the honey lavender, not bad. The first thing we had was a cheese dish which came with some sort of fruit spread, as well as some garlic bread, which was delicious. Then we had the main course with sides, which was quarter chicken pieces, Brussel sprouts, rice, and mashed potatoes. Later, we found out that we were missing the macaroni and cheese so we got that later on as well. And also they gave us a couple of chicken shishkebabs. One table member found us all the sauces so we got to try them. My favorite was mild. Everything was delicious! The quarter chickens were amazing and we were so grateful that we all got the heaping helping of chicken. My favorite side was the brussels sprouts. I'm also a huge fan of mashed potatoes and these mashed potatoes tasted authentic and not from a box so I was really glad that we were able to have mashed potatoes. The final dish was an egg custard. That was also delicious! It was warm and flaky and creamy on the inside. The whole event was very well organized, staff was friendly and the restaurant representative gave high words for his employer. Thank you Jando and Yelp for another great event! We were in session 2. It got started a little late but as soon as the event started, it ran smoothly so I appreciate that they made sure everything was ready to go, even if that meant delaying a little bit. The cocktails were surprisingly good. The mango frozen cocktail was delicious and the right amount of sweet. The sangria was fruity and had a hint of cinnamon flavor to it. I loved them both. The food did not disappoint. The garlic sticks was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The Grilled Halloumi Cheese Sticks tasted like paneer and the fruitiness of the of dip was a nice contrast to the saltiness of the cheese. For the mains, the peri chicken has great flavor to it. The mango chicken skewer wasn't my favorite, but more of a personal preference and not a reflection of the food quality. The sides were great! The Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were my favorite part of the meal. The staff were attentive and very efficient when timing the food. All in all, this was a great event with great food, friends, and drinks! Thank you again for a great experience! read more
What a lovely Tuesday night! I love seated events because I get to meet new friends. Generally, when there are multiple sessions for an event, I expect the first session to run over time, but I was pleasantly surprised when we ended on time (or even earlier!!). They were well-prepared for us and very efficient. As for the food, I really enjoyed the super moist chicken with their sauces. The brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and garlic bread were just as yummy. The egg tart was the perfect way to end our meal. We also got a freebie at the end. Nando's Montrose was a great Yelp Elite event from start to finish! Walking in, this Nando's location in Montrose is beautiful! Vibrant colors and lots of natural lighting. Starting the event strong, I really liked the sangria and the passion fruit froze. Next, I actually loved the assigned seating. It makes it so easy to meet new Yelpers that you may not always have a chance to interact with. Shout out to LeAnn, Shayla, Justin, Grace, and Kristin for being the best table! Food wise, I honestly loved it all! I'm not a big olive person, but these were especially tasty with the garlic. The mac n cheese was super creamy, and the chicken was juicy! What I loved the most was probably the brussel sprouts, and all the different peri peri sauces! The extra extra hot was my favorite sauce, not too spicy, but full of flavor. Service wise, 10/10 for sure! Their entire staff was so welcoming and friendly. The hospitality alone was enough to make me want to come again honestly. Thank you to the Nando's team and Yelp Elite squad for an excellent event! I'll be back again for sure, cheers! P.S. I was just in Portugal 3 weeks ago and their pastel de nata for dessert took me back to Portugal for sure. This was such a great and intimate experience with my fellow Yelp Elite friends! I loved the assigned seating and enjoyed the company of my table mates! Though I've heard of Nando's, this is my first time dining with them! Everything I tried - olives, garlic bread, fried goat cheese, the lemon herb chicken, rice, macaroni and cheese, brussle sprouts, and mango lime chicken skewers were delicious! It was served family style and I was happy to share and break bread with Jazmin T, Mark W, and Samantha D! The stars of the show were the garlic bread, the brussle sprouts, and the lemon herb chicken paired with peri peri sauce. For dessert, we were able to try pastéis de nata and that was equally as delicious! For my drinks, I had the red wine sangria and it paired nicely with my meal! Thank you Jando and Yelp Houston for this wonderful event! I'm always happy to see familiar faces, meet new ones, and catch up! read more
This was a fantastic elite event! First off, I loved that Jando did random assigned seating so that we could truly get to mix and mingle with other Yelp Elites! I was able to connect with multiple people at my table that I had never met prior. As for Nando's itself, I was very pleased with the food, drinks, and friendly staff. I loved getting to hear from management and now I look forward to visiting a location in Atlanta when I go there next year! My favorite dishes were the halloumi cheese, Brussels sprouts (they were fire), peri peri chicken (of course) with lemon herb or hot sauce, and their mango cocktail drink! This is really a vibrant restaurant as well which makes the food even more enjoyable. Shoutout to Jando for yet again another fabulous event! read more
Thank you to Yelp Houston and Nando's team for putting together a well organized and savory night of dining. There was so much to enjoy throughout the night from the service to the food. This was a seated event as we got the opportunity to mix and mingle with old and new friends. All the food offerings that we tried were delicious and enough for our table to all have some and the drinks just as boozy with the 2 drink tickets we were graciously given. From the appetizers to dessert and everything in between, left us wanting more even though we were already full. But that just means we have to return. Still savoring the medium peri-peri with garlic sauce I dipped everything in. Staff was friendly and attentive, so much so that they continuously checked in on us if we needed anything. I want to session two but since I was confirmed for session one I have to put my review here. We had an amazing time. I would say that I'm glad my name popped up at the table it was. Elite company. Elite indeed. The food was actually very good. And I say that with all due respect.. it's just that we didn't have such variety at the other location. And the servers here were so gracious and kind. I really loved that. It tasted great and it definitely made me want to come back for more. Shout out to the servers, Matthew and David. They were my absolute favorites. They made sure that our table was good at all times. Like, seriously. And they had a permanent smile on her face the entire time. Even cracking jokes occasionally. I would say my favorite part of the meal was the brussel sprouts. Not everyone knows how to do brussel sprouts but that's not the case here. They were so delicious and juicy yet crispy all at the same time. Don't know how that's done but kudos to Nando's! Thank you so much for dinner and even some leftovers! Love love loved this event! There's nothing I love more than getting to try all the different things a restaurant has to offer and Nando's does family style so well. It was nice to share a variety of foods with fellow yelpers and get to hear more about the history of nandos and what is unique to each location. Everything was delicious. My favorite was probably the natas (Portuguese egg tarts) or the Brussel sprouts. The chicken was good and they have a great variety of sauces. Basically a choice for anyone. I used a medium spicy garlic sauce which compliments the chicken well. Overall I'm glad I got to try nandos again! I will definitely be returning. This was an amazing, well put together, smooth dinner event. The host was very accommodating and organized. Food arrived very quickly and in succinct order. This was deserving of a perfect five star event had it not been for the fact that several tables were missing a few entrees. Our table was **missing brussel sprouts**, for which we did request afterwards but still never got it. This was a very welcome and experience on part of all the staff members. **Starter: Olive, bread, jam Olives had an amazing marinade. I'm not one for olives but this one was quite the exception. The Jam is the glue that holds everything together. Mild sweet undertone with a slight hint of fruity notes that are quite refreshing with everybody. **mac & cheese: cheese was exceptionally done well and not overly too rich and heavy. **Peri peri chicken quarter - exceedingly moist even for white meat parts. The flavors were spot on. I have no qualms with this dish. I almost feel bad using a sauce because the strong limey flavors from their herb and garlic cuts into the meat flavor profile and regrettably extinguishes the soft notes. ** basmati rice - excellent earthy flavor profile that subtly helps cleanse the pallet while pairing well with the chicken ** drinks: Pineapple lemonade Excellent non-alcoholic drink options, although I wish the sugar level would be a little bit more tame. It's a little bit too sweet, that's requiring you to take very small sips slowly throughout the meal. ** Kabob skewer The meat was done very well; incredibly juicy and moist. The vegetables were cooked to a good degree that releases a good amount of sweetness yet still giving a bit of crunch and bite. **Dessert: Naughty Nata - resembles very much like an egg tart that you'd get from 85° Bakery, but unlike 85°, this one is extremely sweet. The heightwnwd sweetness makes my teeth rattle.... a total miss on this. But all in all, I love the event and I really appreciate the staff in their time with kindness and great demeanor. This was relatively a very smooth operation and I help Nando continues to do well in the future! This restaurant is definitely worthy of a return trip time and time again! Thank you Nando and Yelp for this wonderful event! I used to get Nando's pretty frequently when I lived in Chicago so I was thrilled when I heard that Yelp was doing an event with them! For drinks, I got to try the Honey Lavender Lemonade and a passionfruit slushie. While they were both a little too sweet for my liking, they were refreshing and tasty. The appetizers with the bread, cheese, jam, and olives were delicious! I could've honestly inhaled all the garlic bread sticks but I knew I had to save some room for the entrée and dessert. That being said, I was impressed by the presentation of the entrée with all the quarters and skewers. This could be an unpopular opinion but I personally enjoyed the skewers more than the quarters since some pieces of the quarters were a little too burnt but both were delicious all around! I loved the different seasonings and sauces that Nando had and it went well with the sides. My favorite dish of the night were the Brussel sprouts. Omg, I'm not sure what they put in there but I loved the seasoning! Last but not least, the Nata Egg tarts were a flaky, creamy, sweet treat to end the meal. On top of the great food and wonderful people I got to meet, I loved how we got goodie bags in the end! Such an amazing event. I liked the organization and the smooth sailing of the event. I do appreciate Jando for the assigned seating because it forces you to meet new people and get out of your comfort zone. I've been to Nando's before , but wasn't really impressed. However , after trying certain things on the menu that I have tried before , I was surprisingly pleased. One of the things I wasn't fond about was when I asked for a mocktail and received an alcoholic drink, which I didn't realize until I was about done. The food review: The grilled cheese stick was cool, but I truly enjoyed the garlic sticks. The Brussel sprouts was probably my favorite followed by the Mac and cheese. I had the 1/4 chicken which was pretty good when paired with the peri peri medium sauce. The chicken was moist which I very much appreciated. I really enjoyed myself at this event - we got our 2 drink tickets as soon as we walked in with the liberty of when to use and what to order (full access to their drink menu). I also appreciated that this was a sit down with assigned seating so gave me the opportunity to connect and chat with new Yelpers that I probably wouldn't have met otherwise! Drinks: I started with the mango Rosalina which was a really yummy and refreshing mango smoothie-type alcoholic drink but not too strong or sweet. I also got the canned topo Chico ranch water. Appetizer: bread with a chili jam that had a good kick and not too overpowering or thick. Also had some pickled olives. Entree: their famous flame-grilled chicken breasts with sides of Mac & cheese, Brussels sprouts, and Portuguese rice. The chicken was delicious - moist & flavorful with a crispy skin. I thought it was good alone but also a good medium to try out the sauces. My favorite sauce was peri peri garlic. Among the sides, the Brussels sprouts were 2nd to none, they were crispy and light and drizzled with a unique sauce. The Portuguese rice, however, fell flat and left much to be desired as it tasted quite bland. Dessert: Naughty Nata was the delicious, traditional Portuguese pastel del nata custard. It came out fresh and warm and not too sweet or egg-y. It uniquely was topped with powdered sugar that unexpectedly worked well. read more
Nandos use to be that place that you just couldn't wait to hop on a plane, and go international for it. So knowing that it has placed its mark in the US has unlocked another level. Despite it being in the US, the flavor is still authentic. The service at the event was exceptional. The workers were very attentive. I loved the starters that were provided. They were the perfect ice breaker when it came to sitting at a table with strangers. Once the main course arrived, hands down... the chicken was phenomenal. No sauce needed!. Let's also give praise to the brussels sprouts! They left an everlasting memory in my mind. The Mac n cheese was also a fan favorite. Then to wrap it all up with the nata was chefs kiss! I was hesitant because nata is a fav of mine. So seeing the powdered sugar on top concerned me. Nonetheless, it actually added a little hmm to it. Definitely hit the spot! Pair it with a lavender drink and thank me later. Overall, I was highly pleased! From beginning to end... I can't wait to return to bring my friends. read more
What an amazing event. The staff were phenomenal, the food was delicious and the company is always a vibe. I really enjoyed this event from start to finish. What really stood out was the conversations we had with Manny the NRO. He was so down to earth and gave exceptional service throughout our entire visit . I really appreciate the service of literally every staff member from the servers to the bar staff. With food as delicious as the entrees and appetizers we tried and the service we received, this restaurant definitely will have my family and I as customers . What a gem. As far as the event, it went so smooth. The process was easy going , the establishment was clean, spacious and had a good vibe. I appreciate this Yelp event and all the fellow yelpers that I was able to speak to. I saw old and new faces. Overall, was just great event , socializing over a yummy plate of food & drinks. The south African ~Portuguese dishes had such great flavors. The chicken , sauces , Mac and cheese , Brussels sprouts and side dishes were very comforting & full of flavor. This family-style sit down dinner at Nando's in Montrose was a fun and delicious evening, thanks to Jando and Yelp Houston & the Nando's team! After we got our party pass scanned, we went straight to the bar area to grab drinks and then located our assigned seats. The pineapple lemonade and mango limeade were sweet and refreshing. The dinner flow was good and starting out with the olives, halloumi cheese, and bread were truly appetizing. The chicken was delicious as I expected and the sauces were a nice extra for when I want that dip. I adore their brussel sprouts and mac n cheese. The chicken skewers were also juicy and flavorful, no need for sauce really. The sweet nata at the end of the meal was warm and custardy. My table mates were upbeat and fun to talk to so it made the night even better! Learning more about this specific Nando's location was interesting and I can see how the team put in a lot of effort in making it special. Love the plates and decor with vibrant colors! Gotta love the Nando's swag bag gift too! Needless to say, I'll be back soon for another visit. Let's keep the good times rollin'. read more
Thank you Nando and Jando for an absolutely spectacular event! I was expecting the parking to be a nightmare, but I was able to find street parking pretty easily. Upon arrival the time we waited outside was quite short, and I was so impressed that the staff members were extremely efficient and exceptionally prepared for the group. The drinks were very flavorful and tasty which paired perfectly with all the delectable food that we were able to indulge in. My favorites were the marinated olives and garlic, the magnificent brussel sprouts, the incredible variety of peri peri sauces and the sweet finish at the end, the scrumptious custard tart. I also appreciated the thoughtful swag bags that we received and you can tell that Nando's is quite passionate about their business. I will definitely be back to this location in the near future and I'm excited to introduce others to this great restaurant. read more

Food- 9/10 Everything was good. The chicken had a wonderful char to it and could stand on its own without the sauces although the sauces definitely elevated the chicken. All of us agreed the Garlic hot sauce was the best. The Brussel sprouts, and the Mac and cheese were wonderful. However, the rice fell woefully short. It was more like parboiled rice and had almost no flavor which was rather sad. The olives were nice. The garlic bread was well seasoned and the halloumi with pepper jelly was fun to eat. Service-10/10 enough said. Atmosphere- 9/10 It was just hard to hear in there. It's all hard surfaces so all of us in there made it loud and most of the time we all had our voices raised. But it was still a lot of fun I'm so glad I was able to attend. read more
Great event with good food and even better company! Thank you Yelp Houston for setting up the great event. The only qualm was the slight difficulty parking, but the event itself was very enjoyable. I had a great time discussing Houston restaurants and the Michelin guide with Gregston and Diem. We were treated to a few appetizers and drinks as we sat down. Of everything that I got to try I will call out the halumi sticks (basically grilled cheese served with jam) and the mango rosalita (basically a frozen mango marg). We tried a 1/4 grilled chicken in the lemon and herb flavor and it was great. I ended up getting the breast piece and it was very well cooked with a nice char without being burnt and still juicy inside. I personally preferred the chicken without any sauces, but my favorite sauces were the Lemon and Herb sauce or the Peri Peri sauce with garlic. Another item that we got to try was the kabob in the mango flavor, and I maybe preferred it over the grilled chicken--hot take, I know. The pieces of chicken on the kabob was juicier and I enjoyed the slight savory-sweet flavor. The sides were great as well. Our favorites ended up being the brussels sprouts and mac and cheese. read more
Another fun Tuesday dinner party! I've always heard about Nando's chicken, and I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that Houston has 3 locations! This Nando's was in Montrose and parking here is definitely a challenge. I took a few laps to find a spot, but once inside, everything hit the spot. The decor was colorful and filled with life! I especially loved seeing the artistry in the paintings and overall interior design since I don't see the attention to this detail in most chain restaurants. Moving onto food.... The garlic bread to start was my favorite of the appetizers!! The mac and cheese was super creamy, the brussels sprouts were crispy and flavorful, and the egg tarts were the perfect sweet ending. The Mango Limeade was refreshing and not too sweet, I just wish it had a little ice. The grilled chicken was just ok for me, not my favorite, but the accompanying sides were great. We did have to ask for our chicken skewers and mac and cheese, and there weren't any sauces on our table (thankfully the table next to us shared -- lifesavers!). The Medium Peri-Peri sauce had a great kick, though spicy but not overwhelming. Nandos oh Nandos, how do I love thee! I first met you in 2016, it was London, England. You saved me from the dry British food choices. So....when I learned that you made your way to America, I had to do a praise dance. I missed your lemon and herb seasonings-take home that I would use on my chicken wings-baked. I am so happy that you are here in Houston! This location beats the others by flavor...decor, and service. Parking-meh. I am so glad I picked you over that movie:). I loved the cheese sticks, mashed potatoes and lemon and herb chicken. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese. The Sangria was very good and strong!!! The garlic bread is divine!!! I'm bringing my momma here! I really loved the service and I plan on frequenting this location. read more
I have officially decided that if the parking situation is horrific, then you're likely going to a FIRE Yelp Elite event LOL! I visited Nandos in London and was excited to hear that they started opening in Houston, and especially when one opened inside the loop. This location is in a very busy area of Montrose so parking is tricky. But with 2 parking lots surrounding the restaurant I don't think it would be as difficult on a regular weeknight without a Yelp event ;). I was first greeted to the bar to start with a refreshing lavender lemonade. Then there was a huge spread of appetizers - olives, garlic bread, Portuguese rice, mashed potatoes, Halloumi sticks & chili jam, Brussels sprouts (good flavor), and the Peri Mac N cheese (my fave from this round). And then of course came the signature peri-peri chicken. The portions were huge and the chicken was delicious, especially with the medium + garlic sauce. The sauce had a good kick! Lastly we had Naughty Nata for dessert, which basically tasted like an egg tart with cinnamon sugar. This evening was filled with upbeat music and good atmosphere! Having assigned seats in an intimate setting was also a fun way to mingle with other people and meet new Yelpers. To top off the night the crew gifted us goodie bags (love the bag design!) with our very own personal menu. I will 100% be back soon!!! read more

This was my first Yelp Elite Event, and it was such a great experience. So first and foremost, I would like to thank Jando! It was so fun :D Started off with the drinks, I got to try the Mango Limeade, Red Wine Sangria, and the Mango & Like Alcoholic Slushy. All the drinks were pretty good, especially the slushy. The mango limeade was a bit too sweet for my liking, but still good. For the appetizers, we got to try the grilled Halloumi cheese sticks & dip, garlic bread and olives. I need to have whatever sauce came with that halloumi because ooooo- that was good. I loved the garlic that came with the olives. The garlic bread was cooked perfectly! The chicken legs were the star of the show. So tender and juicy. I'm shocked that every side was so good: the Brussel sprouts, portuguese rice, especially the mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. I really enjoyed how mac n cheese was light and had a bit of crunch from the bread crumbs. Next up, we had the chicken thigh kabobs. We actually had two plates come out at different times. The first plate had me questioning if it was thigh meat or not because it tasted a bit dry. The second plate redeemed itself, a lot more tender than the first. I liked that the sauce had a kick to it. To end it all, we had some nata. Very similar to portuguese egg tarts, but sweeter. Although it was pretty sweet, I actually liked it. I would order it again. The gift bags at the end were such a nice touch. Nando has definitely earned itself a regular. I'll be back soon! read more
I had such a fun time at the Nando's Elite Event! From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. First off, the hospitality was amazing -- the service team was on top of everything all evening, and everyone was so friendly from the moment we walked in. The interior was lively and spacious, with such a fun energy. I love that every Nando's location has its own character and unique decor -- it really adds to the charm. We were treated to a three-course meal, and everything was delicious. For starters, we had bread, olives, and cheese sticks -- the bread was my favorite of the three. The main course was a platter of chicken served with rice, mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the Brussels were definitely my favorite side! To finish it off, we had egg tarts for dessert -- a perfect sweet treat to end the night. On top of all that, we even received goodie bags, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the evening feel even more special. Overall, this was such an enjoyable event, and I can't wait to go back to Nando's again soon! read more
Really enjoyed this event! I always appreciate when there is a slightly later option so that I can make it on a weekday. The parking was really difficult and I had to circle around several times before I gave up and parked a few blocks away, but once I made it to the restaurant things brightened up! I had never been to Nando's before, so this was my first Nando's experience. I was very pleasantly surprised! The aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful. I loved all the vibrant colors. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I love an assigned seat! It was really nice that they gave us two drink coupons each, and I really enjoyed the family-style serving of the food. Our table wished that there had been more labels on things; for example, the fried cheese was delicious, but I didn't know what it would've been called on the menu or how to recommend it. The chickens were labeled, which was nice. Our table also really enjoyed trying all of the sauces. My favorite dish though was the brussels sprouts! They were top-notch. Overall, I really enjoyed this event and feel lucky to have gotten to try this awesome food. Hope to come back soon. The swag bags from the restaurant were also very nice touch!
