JD the Postino manager had informed us the movie theater nearby has a special deal on Tuesdays so it's perfect to do a date night. Most importantly, the parking was easy AND free. I'm so glad we found this place through the yelp experience! The hot donut dots were a nice treat on a rare rainy San Diego evening, and we enjoyed our glasses of red wine. We ended up ordering bruschetta in addition. We chose to sit outside but even with the chilly rain it was very comfortable. They had heaters turned on when it got colder. These donuts were so incredible! When I read that we were being given donut "dots," I pictured something small. Nope. These are massive rich donut rolls basically! And they're fantastic! Our server Maya was so kind and accommodating. She explains how the dots were made with ricotta, which accounts for its lightness and complex flavor. We tacked on a pear salad + kids grilled cheese, and the servings were generous. The lemon poppyseed salad dressing was my favorite, alongside those delicious donuts. Okay postino, you've outdone yourself. I have been to two other elite events here where I first discovered Postino. I enjoyed it so much I have been multiple times with friends and tried quite a bit of the menu. I've enjoyed everything I've gotten. It's such a great concept and so easy to bring a group because the plates are so shareable and everyone can get something they like. The happy hour is a great deal. It's casual, popular and delicious. I love being able to sit inside or out. The inside is a warmly decorated space that is dimly lit for a more intimate feeling. The outside is spacious and has a fire pit and heaters. We opted for inside this visit because we were worried about being cold. It was quite loud, but cozy. The wine selection is good and they are really generous about letting you have a taste to determine what to order. The staff knows the menu and can recommend items and wines to pair with each dish. I even heard the server next to me tell that table that if they ordered a bottle of wine vs the 4 glasses they were about to order that they would have an additional glass and still spend less. Our server Sam was wonderful, one of the best service experiences I have had in a while. She was warm, listened intently and always responded with a smile. Our bruschetta was very enjoyable and my friend really enjoyed her loaded baked potato soup. When I saw the event for postino and the donuts, I knew I wanted to go for the food alone (Allstar status got me an automatic in). I have to admit I was doubtful about the donuts. Boy, was that a mistake.. at first glance they didn't look all that special, but I have an insatiable sweet tooth. The minute I dipped that dot in the sauce and took a bite any doubt I may have had was out the window! The outside crispy, the inside steamy, fluffy and warm.. the donut itself wasn't that sweet but the dipping sauces (chocolate, glaze and Carmel) perfectly sweetened them to whatever level is your preference. These are dangerously good. I never thought I would eat 5, but they were gone so fast!! I can't wait to bring friends back for a happy hour and finish off with these. The server's Alex and trainee (apologize forgot your name) were on top of it, not missing a beat to make your visit a great experience. Excellent customer service, as well as from the manager on duty, JD. My complimentary wine I selected was a sweet wine, a 2023 moscato, Italy... Fiore. Delish! For lunch I decided on a Prosciutto & Brie (prosciutto, Brie fig jam, arugula, balsamic vinegar and olive oil). It was quite delicious, it worked for me some may find it a tad sweet. The wine-tender, Shay... Great service. Very personable and she hooked it up... We had the glass of wine and the donut holes... I had the Chardonnay and it was oaked and perfect. The donuts were good but nothing that spectacular... So this postino is one of my local spots (I'm the Yelp "duke" lol). I'm a wine club member and it definitely has it's benefits. The true way to max your $ here is go on Monday or Tuesday night after 8 and get a board of bruschetta and a bottle of wine for $30.. they also have happy hour every day until 5pm. $7 wine and the real deal is the pitcher of beer for $7 - it's one of those mini pitchers and you'll get 2.5 pints out of it. Btw the parking is in the big parking garage on the del Mar heights road side There's Tesla supercharging on the roof... Looking forward to the little Italy postino Yelp event. I love Postino! I've been raving about their bruschetta board since the last elite perk, and now I'm going to have to rave about their hot donuts too! Delicious, perfectly fried outside, so fluffy inside. It came with a trio of dipping sauces - caramel, sugar, and chocolate. Sugar was definitely my favorite. Postino had promised a free glass of wine and their delicious donuts with three dipping sauces. I brought a friend along, and we added on: -A glass of Pinot for her -their very delicious brussels sprout salad minus the bacon -the cheeseboard And for my glass, I wanted something full bodied. They let me taste the Costa red blend, and then the Tempranillo which my Yelp friends Bridgette and Fernando had tried on their visit. Carly was a terrific server and said she prefers the Costa. But in fact my taste buds lined up with Fernando. The Tempranillo was very yummy and it was a generous pour. The cheeseboard varies but we really liked the current incarnation and how the cheeses were served. The whipped ricotta with spicy honey was our favorite. Incredible Indian summer fall day so the patio was a must. I sat in a comfy couch seat in the shade and Alex immediately took my order with a smile. It took some time for the hot donut bites to arrive but I was enjoying the afternoon chatter and warm day and great music, which wasn't too loud so conversations could easily be had. The theee sipping sauces were fun; salted chocolate in the large section and a little bit of glaze and caramel. The chocolate was the best and just the right amount of salt, the glaze and subtle caramel sauces were good to have in between chocolate bites. Also, mix them all and enjoy that too!! POSTINO @ DEL MAR Parking is available in front of this restaurant, however it can get extremely limited and packed, I'd recommend to park across the street (next to Omomo / Steak 48) for free and available parking. I've been to Postino in Little Italy and in Del Mar, and have already enjoyed their food and drinks. The happy hour menu is one of my favorite parts. My friend and I got seated immediately, and we loved how the patio is a view of the road, and it was a great sunny day! We got the donuts, drinks, and a bruschetta board to share. Our server was very kind the entire dining experience. I really enjoyed the Prickley Pear Lemonade, it was on the sweeter side but was delicious. The donuts were incredible as well, soft and the sauces that came with was incredible. Smooth and had a sweet flavor. The Yelp Elite deal was Hot Donut Dots and a glass of wine. Before jumping into the donut dots, we ordered lunch to go with a glass of Chardonnay (followed by a bottle, lol). My lunch was a half panini of prosciutto and Brie and a cup of potato soup. Hubby (Mark D) had Tuscan tuna and a mixed green salad, and fellow Yelper Elite friend, John M had the half Italian beef dip and Cesar salad. The wine was Holly's Way Chardonnay. I had an amazing experience at this event! My friend and I were seated right away and treated the second we walked in. They took us to our table outside and it had perfect people watching. I was driving, so I asked if I could substitute a glass of wine for a lemonade instead and the manager was very kind and let us both switch to a non alcoholic beverage. We got the Cucumber Honey Lemonade and the Prickly Pear Lemonade - they were more on the sweet side so I would recommend if you like sweet lemonades to try it but it can be a little much. However, they were nonetheless very refreshing on a hot day. The donuts were very crispy on the outside and soft, warm, and doughy on the inside. Another great evening at Postino! From the time we checked in to the time we walked out the door the entire staff was helpful, friendly, and very personable. With our Elite Experience we got a glass of wine and their infamous hot holes. My daughter and I went and decided to grab a bit to eat as well. Food was delicious as always but alas.... we snacked too hard on our bruschetta and charcuterie boards and asked to take the donut holes home. Even reheated with the sauces (caramel, chocolate, and I believe a cinnamon type dip) they were amazing! At last I've finally had the chance to dine at Postino. I've been eyeing this place for a bit every time I'm out at One Paseo. Got here around 12 ish on a Thursday afternoon, with no wait. Hostess was very accommodating with our toddler and baby in our stroller. We placed our orders all at once and even got a panini on the side. I don't know why I haven't tried Postino before because everything was delicious. This was a very nice experience at Postino of Del Mar, CA. The experience was all about those amazing "Hot Donuts" or as I call them Bliss Doughnuts, coupled with a nice glass of wine, and terrific service. The house made doughnut holes are made with salted butter and ricotta, which gives them an amazing soft texture, not to mention a great comforting flavor. They come paired with a decadent chocolate sauce, a light vanilla glaze, and a delicious caramel sauce. They are not only great eating, but fun to eat as well. During my visit, I took the opportunity to have lunch and order the Caprese on toasted focaccia. It was fantastic. I was very impressed with the flavor and texture of the focaccia. It had that excellent crunch. It came with a great pesto sauce as well. Oh yes, I had the seasonal potato soup with my panini and it was amazing! We ordered the sweet potato wedges, a pick-4 bruschetta board, the west coaster panini, and donut balls and it was the perfect amount for a date night dinner for two. Sweet potato wedges were a little underwhelming in terms of flavor but we enjoyed the bruschetta board. Loved the chips that came with the panini, nice thick cut chips that paired very well with the panini. The donut balls came out really hot and loved the three dipping sauces - caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. Service was quick and attentive. Seating was a bit crammed both in the dining room area and outside on the patio but I do like the ambiance of their outdoor seating area (fireplace, string lights). Love this place! The restaurant is cute, clean, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat on the patio, where there were plenty of heat lamps to keep us warm. I forgot that I have been here once before.!! This time I had a little something different. Postino is located in an outdoor shopping center. There's ample parking, which i loved. They have outdoor and indoor seating. They do have heaters for the patio. It was raining a little when I went, so I sat inside. All the staff were very pleasant and had smiles, which I loved. My server is Suzy and she was so delightful!! I loved her energy coming up t9 I'm table! I was reading a book, and she happened to read that same book, which was pretty cool! So we hit it off right away needless to say! I got a glass of Moscato, salad and soup, and of course the donut holes. Everything was delicious! And very filling!!! Fantastic experience here for a weekday lunch! When I showed up, I was told someone else already checked in under my name but they resolved the issue promptly and sat us quickly at the patio. We had our complimentary glass of wine (tried the Riesling) and donut dots, and also ordered a bruchetta board and raspberry chicken salad. We've had their food in the downtown location before and it didn't disappoint. I have never stepped into Postino, therefore going to the Del Mar location in One Paseo was an experience! I am still new to the wine scene, therefore I appreciated the server's recommendations on easy-to-enjoy whites: their Perfekt 2022 Rieseling from Germany and Fiore 2023 Moscato sourced from France. I chose the former, and loved it! Perfekt had a nice citrus brightness paired with bubbles; it was hard to decline a refill! I also ordered their grilled cheese which was rich with a blend of white cheeses that goes well together paired with a tomato soup dip. The hot freshly fried donuts were a nice touch and warmed me up nicely alongside the heaters for the outdoor patio seats. It's her go to - probably their best sandwich we've had because of the balance of sweet and salty. The Yelp Elite perk were the tasty donuts pictured. They're a little dense, but nice and crisp. I was blessed to make it on the final day, thank goodness!! So I had quite the terrible day but knowing I had this witing for me after work definitely made it even better. Rachel was the one who seated me and I got lucky that she was also my server. The wine I chose was the Centenario, Im a huge Cabernet Sauvignon fan. Absolutely delicious I had her choose my 2nd glass (it was one of those days) and she brought me the Costa. I was not disappointed by the options here. I automatically told my mom about this spot because she absolutely loves wine. The donut holes I was pleasantly surprised. In one of them I did find a little leafy green which im pretty sure was not meant to be there. But they were warm, a little crunchy on the outside, but super soft and fluffy on the outside. The sauces I had to do one with chocolate and caramel..a little snickers without the nuts ya know. It was great timing because the guests to my right were debating on if they should get them and I HAD to recommend them. Love Postino wine bar. I've been their regular customer since they've opened a few years ago at One Paseo. I used Yelp wine and dessert deal and combined it with their happy hour, which is every day from 3-5. All the wines by the glass are $7. For Happy hour the restaurant was not busy, we got seated quickly by the heaters on their outdoor patio which has a nice and lively ambiance. My friend and i shared an roasted cauliflower appetizer, a couple of bruschettas and finished with warm doughnut holes. Doughnuts were warm and soft, paired perfectly with dipping sauces. Attended a Yelp event here and WOW! Postino Del Mar absolutely impressed. The service was amazing from start to finish; everyone was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the experience feel special. The ambiance is gorgeous -- warm, lively, and perfect for a relaxing evening out. It was a rainy day so it was extra cozy inside but they have plenty of outdoor seating. Their wine selection is fantastic with lots of great options to explore, and the happy hour deals are honestly some of the best around. Now... the donuts. INCREDIBLE. They tasted just like a fresh beignet...warm, airy, and absolutely delicious. I would go back just for those! Huge bonus: the patio is dog-friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. My first time at Postino in Del Mar and was impressed by the selection of restaurants and shops in this plaza! To my surprise, Postino was busy on a Thursday night! The atmosphere inside is more dark and intimate while there is also seating options outside. Checking in for the Yelp elite experience was seamless. In addition to the wine and donut dots, I ordered the PREAM bowl which came with char grilled chicken, char grilled broccolini, avocado, Parmesan reggiano, quinoa, and a sauce on the side. The meal itself was nutritious yet delicious--really enjoyed it. The wine was great, and the dipping sauces for the donut dots ranged from okay (glaze) to great (chocolate & the dulce de leche/caramel one). I knocked off a star because I felt the customer service could've been a tad bit better in attentiveness. Overall, this was a fun/tasteful Yelp Elite experience! read more

ASK FOR SUZIE! I've been to Postino before, and I always love the relaxed atmosphere. When we arrived, Suzie greeted us warmly and promptly seated us at a table. We were primarily there for hot donut dots and wine, Suzie was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, guiding us through the wine selection. Her recommendation was so good, I even had a second glass! Ofc we had to get a board while we were there! For our board, we opted for the "Pick 4" and chose a combination of: - Burrata, bacon, arugula, and tomato - Salami, pesto - Fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil - Mushroom, mascarpone We were curious about the bouquerones, so Suzie kindly brought us a sample. While I personally wasn't a fan, my two friends thoroughly enjoyed it. Suzie also recommended the roasted mushroom fondue, she let us try a sample and it was so incredibly delicious we had to order it! By the time we finished our board and fondue I had almost forgotten about our donut dots!! To my surprise, they turned out to be incredibly tasty! The chocolate dip was a bit too rich for my taste, but the vanilla and caramel flavors were perfect. Overall, my experience at Postino was fantastic. We really enjoyed our lunch out at Postino today! Our server, Robertiini, was very kind and helpful. We sat inside and I enjoyed a glass of Prosecco and then the Selene Rose. My hubby got the prickly pear margarita which was phenomenal. For food, we simply had to get a bruschetta board (of course): salami/pesto, artichoke, goat cheese/spicey jam, and the mascarpone/prosciutto/fig toast. All were amazing. We also shared the skewers and a cup of soup. The donut dots for dessert were a highlight! They came with 3 sauces: chocolate, vanilla bean, and caramel. The standout sauce was def vanilla bean!
