The flatbread pizza was very good and corn dogs were good. I missed the wings but heard how good they are. The can of rose wine and cookies and cream ice cream is a winner for me. All of the staff was so awesome passing out bites, bar service, stilt walker, riding unicycle, juggling and ball twisting. The caricature artist was so amazing. Taroko Sports is a new business that opened up in Katy recently. They have parking as its in a strip center. off of 99. Their bar only carried beer and water. I saw a few yelpers eating bar type food, wings, pizza and corn dogs, unfortunately I didn't get to try any. There were numerous games to play. There were several batting cages with different speed pitches ranging for 50-80 mph! There were also arcade type basketball, darts, mini bowling, also riding cars and a pitching area. There was also a juggler on unicycle and someone that was doing free hand drawing that looked pretty good. It looked like a great place to bring your kids as well as adults to enjoy. read more

Really enjoyed this event. I love how they have so many modernized arcade favorites. It's kinda creepy, but also cool how the games take your picture before you start playing. I wish the pitching in the batting cage could be slowed down. It was so fast and intimidating for someone like me who's never been batting before. The food is very tasteless and undercooked. Okay, so this is experience was certainly one for the books!! Immediately upon entering we were met with baseball themed staff that were all smiles and good vibes, we were ushered to selfie booths, the bar, ice cream, Caricature artist and more!!! They had dozens games you could play but most importantly, there was ample opportunity to work on your baseball swing and pitch! This is definitely a place I feel like I can go to and feel like a pro baseball athlete! The grand opening of this venue couldn't have come at a better time as it's officially baseball season!!!! The batting cages had me feel like I might have missed my calling in softball. Thanks to Yelp and Taroko for a fun night! As a big baseball and arcade fan, I was in heaven with their batting cages, and unlimited play?! LFG! I loved all the different modes allowing us to pick pitch speeds. The pitching simulation evoked memories for me batting in a Tokyo arcade, fun times and humbling when the kid next to you is making contact on all the 80mph pitches and I'm here swinging and missing lol.. The virtual simulator was fun too but would've been even better if we could reset scores per person. My friend and I basically camped out at the hoops game until we got top score on the teamplay. A fun workout for sure! The food were scarce and some never made it around, but again I was more than happy to play games rather than trying to fight for the last wing or pizza slice. The ice cream booth was a win though and we got to try some delicious flavors. There was also a caricature artist but the lines were very long so unfortunately didn't get one, but the arcades were pretty fun. Got to enjoy most of the racing/action/darts games. But no surprise, baseball stole the show for me. Shoutout to the hardworking staff, super friendly and kept the energy high all night. The goodie bag to end the night was a nice touch as well. The elite experience at Taroko Sports in Katy was hands down my favorite Yelp event yet! It combined food, drink, games, sports, and freebies. It left nothing to be desired. It was a flash experience, meaning RSVPs went live only a few days before the event. The experience was excellent - from being immediately greeted at the door by members of the Taroko Sports team to being thoroughly entertained from start to finish. Everywhere you looked, there was something to amaze one's senses - jugglers, stilt walkers, a mini bowling alley, games, batting cages, tasty food and drinks! On arrival, we checked in at the front desk and signed a waiver in order to participate in the batting cages. We were then given a preloaded, unlimited game card to use on the batting cages, arcade games, air hockey tables, and bowling alley, as well as two drink tickets. We were served a number of different kinds of bar foods including corn dogs, tater tots, pizza, and chicken wings. Everything I ate was tasty and pretty high quality for "bar food." There were also several types of beer and seltzers to choose from, as well as Pepsi products in the back. Howdy Homemade Ice Cream also served free cups of delicious ice cream - I had the Vegan strawberry and could barely tell it was dairy-free! Taroko has a great variety of arcade games in addition to several different speed pitch batting cages and pitching areas. I had a blast on the basketball shooting games and attempting to hit speeding balls in the batting cages - I hadn't picked up a baseball bat since I was a kid! They also had a photobooth which provided high quality souvenir digital photos and THE BEST SWAG I have ever received from a Yelp Event including a baseball jersey, sports towel, baseball bat-shaped pen, baseball cap, and tote bag. They also had a caricaturist drawing pictures of attendees; however, the line dissuaded me from participating. This event was spectacular! The absolute best Elite Experience I've had the pleasure of joining: the event was well organized, not overcrowded, and thoroughly enjoyable. I was there for about two hours, and not a minute was spent waiting, and I still felt like there was more for me to explore. The arcade machines are the most technologically advanced that I've seen in arcades anywhere, although, I did notice that a few were already out of order prior to grand opening, so I hope there is continued focus on timely maintenance. Another suggestion I have is to maybe provide a floor map or assign one staff member to walk around the floor to assist customers with how to use some of the machines or answer questions. Given the newness/complexity with some machines and the large space, I think that would be a good addition to making customers feel supported. The level of service provided was also unparalleled, people genuinely welcomed us and seemed to truly enjoy their roles at the venue. My friend and I were one of the last to leave, a few minutes past nine, and yet no one came around to rush us out the door given the closing time. When we left, I still saw a few others wandering around freely; that was very sweet of them to offer the space and time for everyone to enjoy the venue as much as possible. Since the event, I have already encouraged many of my friends and colleagues to visit, and everyone was interested in the concept. I had the best time at the Flash Yelp Event! It was so much fun hanging out with my fellow Yelpers and getting to see some of Houston's local influencers. Huge thanks to Jando and Tonoko for hosting and organizing such a memorable event. I had a blast with the unlimited games and batting--definitely a highlight of the night! The food kept coming out, and I have to say, the wings were my absolute favorite. They were hot, juicy, and paired perfectly with my beer. I also loved how the staff were all dressed in baseball merch and actively engaging with everyone. It made the experience feel even more welcoming and fun. Honestly, I have zero complaints. This has been the most fun Yelp event I've ever attended. The Howdy Ice Cream was another standout. The homemade ice cream was creamy, delicious, and the perfect sweet treat to wrap up the night. The photo booth and themed backdrop were great for capturing memories. If there's one thing I regret, it's not getting my picture drawn by the artist sooner--the line got so long later on! With men walking on stilts and riding unicycles to having a juggler and a caricature artist, there was plenty to keep us entertained at this event. Taroko Sports was a unique experience for me as a non-coordinated girlie. They had plenty of activities to choose from such as shooter games, various racing games, darts, basketball hoops, an air-hockey table, as well as the star of the show, the batting and pitching cages. This was a great mesh of gaming and sports. My favorite activities were certainly the batting and pitching cages, but let's just say the astros won't be signing me anytime soon haha. I saw some fellow Yelpers mentioning bowling which I am ashamed to say I didnt see or try - but would love to the next time I come to Taroko! The servers were definitely trying their best to ensure everyone had a bite to eat, but it did seem as if they were being swarmed whenever a tray of food was coming out. The food was delicious though - I most enjoyed the cheesy flatbreads! I also was a fan of the Underwood bottled wines, with the rose bubbles being my favorite. So cool to have a new sports bar and arcade in Katy! The games were a lot of fun, I enjoyed the basketball hoops and karting. There were plenty of baseball netting areas. Set up by different mph. I was too scared to try though! Haha Also two of their motorcycle arcade games were broken, kinda a bummer for opening day. The drinks they had to offer were all bottled/canned drinks, not a full bar service with mixed cocktails. The food, what I tried, was good. I got to try the pizza and tots. The pizza 10/10, so good! This was such an amazing event! I'm glad I was able to attend! When walking in to check-in, there was a juggler entertaining us. Everyone was so sweet and nice, and the check-in process went smoothly. We were given a game card that we used to play the games as well as drink tickets. Tarako was very clean, which is to be expected as a new establishment. They had a bar that contained beers and water. I asked one of the managers if there will be a full bar, but I was told they are still discussing that as baseball and alcohol may not go well together lol. In a long hallway, you were able to request non-alcoholic drinks which were Pepsi products. That area is where you can also pick up food when you order it. Not sure where you would actually place the order, because during the event they were handing out the food on trays. The food items they had included: tater tots , pizza , wings , and corn dogs. The food was cool, but I really came to play the games. There was so many games to play from darts , shooting hoops , air hockey shooting games, bowling, race care games, and most importantly the batting cages. Ngl, I was really sore the next day but I'm a good way. I liked that there were slow pitched batting cages for someone like me who doesn't have the best hand-eye coordination. Traffic and rain can't get us down! Carey W., Pareesa M., and I carpooled out to Katy for the soft opening of this high-tech sports games venue. The folks here sure know how to put on a spectacle - the place was packed with entertainers of all sorts, including jugglers, sketch artists, and even a stilt walker! Once we got our wristbands and game cards, we made several circuits of all the offerings - there was a state-of-the-art mix of light-gun shooters, racing games, electronic dartboards, basketball hoops, and duckpin bowling for which we all had unlimited access. The main draws are the shiny new pitching and batting cages, outfitted with auto-return and motion sensor tech as upgrades to the traditional baseball cage experience. As we gamed and enjoyed our beverages, we noticed light bites appear every so often from the kitchen and scrambled over to enjoy some eats! The crisp flatbreads and tater tots made me feel just like a little kid again, though we missed out on trying the wings. I thought the servers were gracious in trying to make sure everyone had something to eat, though we definitely had to practice patience at first. It's good and typical sports bar fare, but if I were to come back I'd probably eat elsewhere either before or after. I would be remiss if I didn't mention all the swag! The event was a lot of fun! I enjoyed having it as a VIP night, where I got to connect with other influencers and people there to truly experience Taroko. I played darts, basketball, air hockey, and a car racing game. The car racing game was definitely my favorite--it had tons of levels, modes, and cool tricks. It was definitely not your average racing game! Many of the games had unique twists, with extra versions and point systems. Overall, it was a great event. The only downside was that I'm not a fan of beer, and it was the only drink offered. Plus, there wasn't enough food for the crowd, and I was hoping for more samples for everyone to try. read more

Let me start by saying this was definitely an ELITE event. I mean elite, elite! Even with the rain and tough sledding for close parking (likely due to planet fitness next door) nothing ruined this well planned experience. From the moment we were in line, we were met with jugglers on tilts! Then inside was festive and colorful with a DJ playing good tunes. First the arcade area has all your major hitters - shooting games, racing games, air hockey, and more! Then the sporting games with bowling, darts, basketball (long and short), and their main theme game - baseball - with several batting cages (two with a video game screen) and a couple pitching cages. You use your game card to access everything and ours lasted us all night and we still had some leftover credits for us to come back and use next time! Games aside, they also brought in an artist for cartoon drawn portraits and delicious Howdy ice cream. As for real food, they passed out plenty of trays filled with pizza, wings, tater tots, and corn dogs. I didn't personally care for the pizza, but the wings and tots were decent. Think typical frozen bar bites - good enough when you're hungry. They had Pepsi fountain drinks and then a bar with beer and seltzers (no hard liquor though unfortunately). There was ample seating on the first and second floor to catch a quick bite. Lastly, their giveaways were awesome! They passed out hats and a gift bag containing a Taroko jersey, towel, baseball bat pen, and face stickers. I really walked away feeling like a Major League champion! This is the way to do a Grand Opening. This place is definitely going to be a hit especially with the very reasonable pricing. Man we had a good time at Toroko and how befitting that we got to experience it on the Astros opening game day! They're located in Katy so a little out of the loop but this would be a great place for all ages to enjoy! It's basically a big arcade that specializes in baseball so a lot of batting cages and pitching cages along with various arcade games. They have a bar that had beer and wine and we got to try different foods like pizza, wings, corn dogs and tater Tots. Honestly the food was not much to write home about but at least you have options. There were also some cool vendors like a caricature artist, ice cream station and jugglers on stilts through the venue. Jugglers and stilt walkers were fantastic additions to the event, they were great interacting with guests. Rose Caricatures was phenomenal with her work and it was a privilege to have Rose capture the moment. Really great choices for drinks but I don't think any of the light bites got to me. I had an absolute blast at the soft opening of Taroko Sports! Everyone was so welcoming, the food was great, and the activities were so much fun I was very impressed by the use of space. They managed to fit more than a dozen batting cages, with bowling, pitching cages, darts, a bar, and many other arcade and other games I haven't been to a batting cage in years, and this really brought me back. Everything is state of the art, safe, and a blast I really enjoyed the bowling lanes. It's a miniature version of a bowling alley, but just as fun. I also thought the home run derby was a lot of fun. The other batting cages are great because the have right and left hand options, helmets, bat sizes, and various speeds to choose from Some tips: I imagine when everything is open to the public that this spot will be packed. If you see an opening for the bowling or pitching cages I would jump in as those had the longest lines of people waiting. Jando and the Yelp squad did a fantastic job setting up this event. From the stilt walkers to the caricature artist to the fantastic games and sports, a time was had. I did not know I would enjoy the pitching cage as much as I did. Boy, what a workout. We were treated to unlimited pitching, batting cages, arcade games and darts. I missed the mini bowling because I spent so much time at the other activities. Definitely a place to come back to and expect to spend many hours. This is probably my fave yelp event so far! First off, big shoutout to the employees. The few that we encountered were super nice and answered any questions we had. We first started with the miniature bowling which was fun. Thankfully the lanes were empty so that's why we chose to do that first. Afterwards we went and played some of the arcade games (like jurassic park) for a bit. Then headed over to the batting cages, this was our favorite and is obviously the main draw of this venue. I only wish there was a bit more clarity on how low or high the pitch is going to be when you press those buttons. Also if gloves could be an option that'd be great, since the handles on some of the bats were already disintegrating and leaving black bits all over our hands. I'm glad that there was different speed option spots based on what people were comfortable with. The dart system was super intuitive so we loved being able to choose between different games and how it automatically took score and would tell you when to switch players. The goody bags were a nice touch! I'll have to cut up and sew the shirt that was given since I think XL were the only size given. The bat pen, stickers, and tea towel were a nice touch. We did end getting hats too which I love. Only "negative" things were what were the "bites" supposed to be? Was it only a cheese pizza? If so we only got 1 piece each throughout the entire night. Pizza flavor was satisfying enough, nothing to rave about. Kids will be happy with it. If any other food was handed out then we didn't see it. Also I do wish there were more drink options. Wine or light cocktails for those of us that hate beer. So I didn't even use my drink ticket unfortunately. Shoot I would have used it if there was even some kind of mocktail. If I'm choosing between 2 places, going out with friends and would want a drink for the evening (and of prices are similar enough for batting cages) I'd want to choose the other baseball venue that's only a few minutes away. Wow! What an awesome event! One of the top events this year and I'm so grateful to have been able to attend! We were greeted right when we came in with friendly smiles from all staff team members and the venue had plenty of activities! It was my first time trying batting cages and I loved it! I also loved the mini bowling they offered - which is a surprise because I'm not a huge fan of regular bowling. The Howdy ice cream booth was a delicious treat while we explored and Rose (caricature artist) was so sweet and talented! The arcade had some very cool offerings as well. I can already see myself coming back for a fun night out with family and friends. One thing I can't comment on is the food. Unfortunately we kept getting passed up on food samples and did not want to sit around and wait at tables for the servers to eventually come by - taking away from the experience of fun and games. The Best Time This was by far the best elite event to me . It was fun and allowed me to let my inner child out . I enjoy learning how to play darts. I never really played baseball before so this was my first time and I definitely enjoyed it. I woke up with a sore arm lol The appetizers the food was OK . I was only able to get a corn dog. I do think they should add maybe 2 to 3 more items on the menu as far as food. I think the drink menu being limited is a wonderful idea. I had a really awesome time with my +1 . Super happy that I was able to get to this experience. I am definitely coming back in two weeks to bring my own family. I got so many reactions off of my Instagram, friends and family wanting to come so I'm definitely gonna give them many more shots. I hope I won the baseball account lol who don't need $300.. This event was, without a doubt, my ultimate favorite of all time! From start to finish, it was an absolute blast. They had an incredible selection of arcade games, batting and pitching cages, and even four small bowling lanes--plenty to keep everyone entertained for hours. And the food? Simply phenomenal. This flash invite was welcomed on a Thursday. The rain almost kept me from being great, but so glad I came out. This was so fun and no short she of stimuli. The carnival / ballpark theme was whimsical touch. Love a Photo Booth always! The batting cages were my favorite and the bowling was a close second. The juggler and stilted performers were a great touch and were so friendly. I know now for sure, my hand eye coordination is holding me back ! So great to finally meet some of my Yelp cousins in person. The sorbet was creamy with a little melt and really refreshing glad they had a dairy free option. This was the second elite experience I was able to make it to and we had SO much fun! I wish I saw the caricature drawer earlier because she was so talented! By the time we saw her the line was so long. All of the batting cages were great! It is nice to finally have another one in Katy and I enjoyed this place a lot more than home run dugout. If you pay attention it looks like you are batting inside of minute maid & the Astros logos on the side are a super cute touch. I will say maybe come up with a disinfecting spray for the helmets because I imagine they're going to get quite sweaty! The thin crust pizza & tots were yummy. I'm glad there were more than 2-3 dart games and love that you can choose different games on there. All of the staff is so nice and energetic. It was such a treat and though we had to fight traffic driving west to Katy for nearly an hour on an early Thursday evening, it was totally worth it. The "light bites" ended up filling me up so there was no need to stop by Burger King on the way home. Taroko sampled corn dogs, pizza, chicken wings, and tater tots. All of it was piping hot and some came with delicious sauces. The staff were super nice and engaged with the customers. Honestly the most fun yelp elite experience I've had so far! The arcade games were a few steps above similar places and the baseball games and batting cages were very challenging and addicting. Food was solid, but it is definitely not the reason I will be coming back. Staff is all top notch. Taroko is a popular arcade and batting cage chain from Taiwan, and what can I say? What a joy it is to have something this fun near home. This place was much bigger than expected. The staff were very energetic, fun and personable. I loved how everything wasn't just cramped and on top of each other. The rounds of food just kept coming around and everything from the wings, tater tots, pizza were really good. Upon arrival we were greeted at the door where you had to sign a waiver for the batting cages and then given wristbands along with 2 free drinks. They did not have much of an option for their soft opening but that was no issue at all. They have a great selection of arcade games to choose from but I'm beyond happy they have darts, I can spend all my money on that alone lol ... There are pitching cages, batting cages ( up to 80mph pitches ), basketball games, mini bowling, air hockey, along with various racing, shooting, dancing arcade games. The bar was in a great spot with plenty of room around to get your drank on. I hope the people of Katy and those who come visit take care of this establishment so everyone can enjoy it for a looooong time. It's always nice to get out there and let off some steam but be mindful to take care of the things we enjoy. This is a great spot for a night out with family or friends. This place is definitely one I would return to. It was very fun and inviting for their soft open. While I didn't partake in much of the food samples, servers were flowing around the venue. I did try the tots and cheese pizza. They were okay but I was more interested in the entertainment. The main focus is clearly baseball so there are batting cages with ranging speeds and a pitcher cage. There was also a virtual batting cage for slower speeds. The mini bowling was definitely more challenging than I expected but super fun. There were a variety of racing games but my favorite is definitely the dart boards. Something we played every weekend back in my hometown so I'm excited to have somewhere close to home to play. I first wanted to thank Jando and the Yelp team for their continued efforts and hard work in putting this event together. I appreciate the invite and the desire to shed light on a new businesses. Check in was a breeze. Although there was an awkward moment to whereas the check in crew gave me a card to share with my plus one. (Verses others collect their own card individually, with their plus one guest) Which would've require us to stick together verses enjoying our own experiences individually. Even though she was like when you run or come get another one. (It was half a box of game cards left when we checked in, one hour after the start of the event.) Food was really good. Pizza had a great crust. Corndog & tots made to perfection. I didn't get to collect my personal drawing, after standing in line for some time, which I was super excited to participate in. But she said she'll be returning the following day and she'll get me then. This is a service that's included in your entry. Super cool. ( I was thinking it was only for influencers day event. Possibility this service was only for the grand opening. Unsure) her cut off time is around 8 pm. She very good and fast. Wish they had a signage of her service, you will definitely miss out if you don't look upstairs in the section she's located in. Overall we had great fun, I plan to return with my son. Wow, what an event! This event brought me back to my childhood and I felt like a kid again. This place is a merge between Home Run Dugout and Main event. The staff were so polite and helpful. They had so many games and I loved all of them. Dart, monster cart, basketball, air hockey, bowling, etc. They also had places where you could pitch and bat. It was so much fun. Now the only thing that needs improvement was the food. It didn't seem as though the food was cooked long enough. The food tasted like frozen foods you get at the grocery store. The best food option was the pizza. Enjoyed the swag bag, cookies and cream ice cream from Howdy Ice cream and the unlimited playtime. My friends and I had such a nice Thursday evening trying out this place! I think there was a little bit of something for everyone here and it was cool trying out the batting cages and playing the arcade games (with unlimited lives of course). Staff were all friendly and patient considering the large crowd and all of the free goodies were a plus. My only doubt about this place was the small bites that were passed out; while I wasn't expecting restaurant quality food, everything gave off a frozen and reheated in the oven vibe and was severely average (or right below) at best. I have faith in the hope that their actual menu upon grand opening is different though and these were just a filler for the time being! read more

By far my favorite event this year! The experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the staff was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive. We received two drink tickets (for seltzers and wine, as there's no hard liquor due to safety considerations) and a play card, which we later found out had $10-$20 loaded for future use when they officially open. The play card allowed us to enjoy a variety of arcade games, including darts, basketball, racing, and shooting games. The venue itself is packed with fun activities! There are around 10-12 batting cages with different pitch speeds (ranging up to 70 mph) and a pitching cage. They also had a caricature artist, homemade ice cream from a vendor, and plenty of photo ops. As for food, they provided cheese and pepperoni pizza, wings, corn dogs, and tater tots, which was a nice touch. The entire atmosphere was lively, and the staff's energy made the experience even better. I had a blast & ended up closing all my fitness rings Huge thanks to Yelp Elite for the invite--I'll definitely be back when Taroko Sports officially opens! First off, what a badass event! I'm so glad I was invited to experience Taroko Sports. I am 3000% coming back here again for sure! So many different things to do, I can easily find myself just hanging out all day here. It was actually really neat that all activities require movement of some sort. Pizza, wings, beer, such a chill place to be. The parking lot is a lil crowded next to the gym but was not impossible to support the crowd. Another Amazing Yelp Event! What made it even better is that it's in my neck of the woods-- right here in Katy, Tx!!! I took my 13 minute drive and arrived to a parking lot with lots of spots and free parking. When we walked in we were greeted and just looking around we were already wow'd! This place had arcade games, darts which I'm pretty darn good at, basketball hoops which I'm terrible at, pitching cages, batting cages going all the way up to 80 mph, mini bowling, simulated batting cages...just the whole works! Definitely an awesome place for family! They serve food such as wings, pizza, and tots. They have beer for the adults. Howdy Ice cream also made a guest appearance. They had jugglers and uni cycle rider along with a young lady drawing charactures. It was a whole vibe yall! The only thing I didn't get are the prices for the game cards but yall can look that up. What i will tell you is that it's 50% off til the 30th! It will definitely make you feel like a teen again. It was entertaining watching all the men trying to hit them 70 mph balls...they will all be hurting today!!!
