Thank you to Cosmic Juice for this elite week experience and thank you to Yelp!! Walking into the establishment, I could tell that it was a lot more than just an acai bowl joint. Turns out that it is a health/athletic co-op place that shares space with cosmic juice. There was a lot about the running club and training and I think there was a fitness class of some sort happening when I walked in on Saturday morning. It seems like the spot caters to the athletic types and people who frequent the co-op for various reasons. Also seems to be designed specifically for runners/athletes since there were many accolades on the wall, magazines and books discussing that. Overall, enjoyed the bowl! Seemed a bit pricey at $13 but super fresh. The OG bowl was the only option and it came with chopped strawberries, bananas along with some oats and a few other things. I decided to visit on the last day, right as soon as they opened just so that I could meet Gretchen and get to know her. Gretchen was very kind and proud of her business. You could tell she loves what she does and loves Cosmic Juice. I live in the area and I'm so glad that Cosmic Juice had an Elite Week. I drive by everyday and have always been curious what the building was and I finally got to experience this cute shop. It's connected to a yoga/pilates studio, so it's nice to get a refreshing drink after a workout session. The OG Acai bowl bowl that was offered was so refreshing. I enjoy acai bowls and am grateful for the opportunity to try Cosmic Juice. I stopped in on a Friday at lunch time, and it wasn't terribly busy. There were a few customers who were waiting on their orders. The young man (who I later found out was the owner, Fore) was working solo. I checked in to the event page and waited to place my order. Fore was busy making orders and never acknowledged me when I walked in. I was a little put off by this as I was standing near the counter to order for a couple of minutes. All of a sudden, he set the bowl on the counter for me. I asked him if the bowl was mine and he said yes, and said that he assumed that I was with Yelp. I could have taken the bowl and left, but I didn't. I explained to him that I did not want bananas on it and would scoop them out if the bowl couldn't be remade, however I didn't want to waste ingredients. I also explained that I was planning to order a shot. Fore remade my bowl without bananas and also made me a garlic pineapple shot. The acai bowl was very good and not overly sweet. The granola and hemp seed added a nice texture contrast. The garlic pineapple shot was different, but good. I opted not to get black pepper. Fore explained that the garlic pineapple shot is good for digestion. I love garlic and I thought the garlic flavor was balanced, though it did linger on my tongue for a little while. I sat in the store to eat my bowl. I was the only customer at that point so Fore and I started chatting. He told me that his mom, Gretchen was the previous owner when it was Juice Girl and he has had the business for about a year. He was really nice and it was great to learn about the background of the business. If I hadn't had the opportunity to chat with him, I would have left disappointed since he didn't interact with me in the beginning. Customer service is important to me and a simple hello or acknowledgement can go a long way. He could have missed out on a sale, had I just taken the bowl and left. What a hidden gem nestled inside a running (treadmill) gym in Montrose. The Elite Week deal came with a complimentary açaí bowl, which was a good pick-me-up in the afternoon between my lunch and dinner that day. The shop is a little hard to find, as it's located inside another business within a fairly nondescript building. Upon walking in, I was the only one there and was promptly helped. I got my açaí bowl with the works: granola, bananas, strawberries, chia seeds, and honey to top. Everything was delicious! The strawberries and bananas tasted fresh, the granola gave it all a nice crunch, and the honey added a little touch of sweetness. The açaí itself was also very refreshing. I would say that the nomenclature of açaí "bowl" is a bit of a misnomer though, as it was served in a small plastic cup. Nonetheless, the cup was filled to the brim and I had to be careful not to spill anything as I ate! I struck up good conversation with the gentleman behind the counter, who told me about the history of the shop along with the shared running gym that it's housed in. Apparently the owner is a big-time marathon runner, which inspired him to open the running gym. I made a comment that I'd like to check it out, but was informed that it's invitation and by-appointment only. I was initially on the waitlist, but then a few days before the elite week started received an email that I was cleared. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the owner Gretchen was present. Had a nice conversation with her and she gave me a nice breakdown of all the menu items, etc. I ordered the OG Acai bowl, which I had later in the evening. I did enjoy the bowl. One of the few events which I can attend knowing fully well that I do not have to worry about what to eat ;) ....I can try everything as it is vegan place. Thank you Yelp, Four and Gretchen for this healthy experience. The place is a little misleading with the area and all, and you can easily pass it if you are not really looking. Once you enter, its a complete contrast to the outside. There is a huge private parking area and the inside of the Juice Bar is very aesthetic with all the harmony stones, a laughing buddha and stuff. There are many interesting things to just walk around and look in the store. While a lot of it is for sale, it's on a sharing space basis and does not necessarily belong to Cosmic Juice, but, it does add its own charm to the place . Four showed me a graphite butterfly, it was pretty interesting, you can use it as a pencil, or just display it. Edward calls himself Four, that's his name actually, and he is the most friendly and talkative guy I have ever seen. While I was there, atleast six people walked in and he had lengthy conversations with all of them, and not in an intrusive way, in a way to keep it all interactive and light. As for me, I learnt about the products he sells, how his mother had a tough journey to get till here, how he is now helping her out, what inspired the vegan concept, and so much more.... The complimentary OG Acai bowl consisted of the Acai Blend, housemade granola, hemp seed, banana and strawberry. I opted for only strawberries though. It was very refreshing and a perfect snack for the 3.30 pm light hunger. Really enjoyed it. They also carry cold pressed juices, house made hemp seed brownies and carrot cake bites besides a whole big menu for the juices, smoothies and acai bowl options. Never go wrong with a good açaí bowl. I'm always a fan of smoothies as it's become a part of my morning routine so was looking forward to checking out this new spot. This particular OG bowl did not disappoint - cup was filled some fresh strawberries/bananas/seeds/honey/granola and delivered on flavor. Shop was pretty quiet on a Sunday so I got to chat with the owner Gretchen a bit and learned more about their Juice Girl business and this new location. Parking was ok but the area's going through some construction. Also saw some people walking in/out from the workout studio next door. I also purchased a separate acai bowl for my non-yelp friend, would rate the experience a good one overall, will say the portion felt a little small for the price. Parking -There is construction on this part of Westheimer, but Morse street was fine. There is ample parking lot, which is a plus for me at any place. I later found out that this is a shared co op space/parking lot for all of the wellness businesses in the building like yoga etc. When I walked in the place I was greeted by the server and I presume owner Four. I got to chat with him and learn a bit more, as I was the sole customer at the time. The place is formally JuiceGirl. Which his mother owned. Then he decided to take over and rebranded as Cosmic Juice. He shared with me about his ingredients and other juice places in town. The place is nicely decorated for a juice spot. Looks like an easy place to hang or get work done. This Elite week we get to enjoy the acai bowl, it was pretty yum and filling. According to the Internet: "Açaí na tigela, or Brazilian açaí bowl, is a sweet snack from the Amazonian states of Pará and Amazonas. The dish is made from frozen, mashed açaí palm fruit, which has a tart, earthy taste and granular texture. The pulp is blended with sweetener and liquid, then poured into a bowl and topped with granola and fruit" To support this local business, I purchased Energize juice. He had a small sample for me to try first, and it was a go for me. It had beet, carrot, apple, lemon, and ginger. Since the store's hour is 9AM to 5 PM, almost impossible for people with normal working hours, we didn't have a chance to visit during the week. We stopped by on Sunday at 3 PM. Aside from a couple of other Elite members, the shop was empty. Before we even had a chance to get in line, the owner informed us that redeeming the açaí bowl would require a 30-45 minute wait. She also mentioned that if we came back later, she is closing early at 4 PM. At that point, we all got the hint and just signed in and left. Honestly, it was disappointing--I don't recall ever being turned away from an Elite event like this. It felt like a waste of time driving out there, especially on a beautiful weekend when we could have been doing something else. I am a Açaí bowl girlie and I've struggled to find a really good one in Houston so when this elite week popped up, I jumped at it. Stopped by Cosmic Juice around 2pm and was pleased to see plenty of parking, and construction must have been on break at the time so I had no issues. When I walked in, I was greeted by the young man who checked me in and took my order. He asked if I wanted hemp seeds and agave on top and I kindly obliged. I got a chance to look around the shop and noticed the cardio studio in the back. As a runner, I immediately inquired about it and that's when he told me about the guy who owns the studio, and he's also the one who has ran the Boston, NY and Chicago marathon. I mean, do you know how disciplined and fast you have to be to run those particular 3 marathons!??! I was impressed and definitely plan to checkout the studio (if it's open to the public). The space was clean, airy and zen! I definitely would have kicked it in there if I didn't have somewhere else to be. The açaí bowl was decent. I've had better but also, it wasn't the worst. Literally a hidden gem here in Montrose, the owner Gretchen is such a nice person and everyone at the building is nice. Since I was the other customer there at the time, I had the opportunity to chat with Gretchen and learned that we went to the same high school, in Alief. And people who are teaches the classes upstairs all said hi to us. There's potential for this space but it is kind of hidden for the big main street of Westheimer even with GPS you may miss the parking lot still. My only complain is that this place is not handicap friendly. The entrance door is a step up and the restroom does not have grab bars and to get to the toilet, it is not wide enough for a wheelchair to get through but that's the landlord's job. I have already let Gretchen known about these! The açaí bowl that Cosmic Juice give is loaded with toppings. You will get your money with here. I will definitely continue to support Cosmic Juice in the future. read more

Hmmm. This is a tricky one. Parking is open, and there is plenty of space. I liked that. I was a little concerned because there was so much construction in the area but parking was decent enough. And... it's all downhill from there. I received NO greeting upon arrival even though only ONE other customer was inside the store. The counter attendant just looked at me and went about what he was doing. There was already a dark and gloomy atmosphere, and his not smiling was the icing on the cake. No smile was shown, not even to the customer he was servicing. The counter attendant worked exceptionally slowly when the customer ordered his acai bowl, walking around lackadaisically to fulfill his order. I must have been standing there for 10 minutes just... waiting... Annnnnd...the ENTIRE time, no customer came in after me. I wanted to walk out, but today is the only time I will be in the area this week. The customer even went to the restroom, and I was left there alone with the counter attendant. Still no words. No greeting. Nothing. I'm appalled. Eventually, He finished the order (The customer literally only ordered an acai bowl) and the customer left. I walked up and was coldly greeted. I told him I was with Yelp. He said to check in. I asked about scratching off my name as we usually do (and it definitely says to in the instructions), but he said no one told him to do that and that he's just been telling people to check in. Um. Ok. No problem. I ordered the acai bowl to go. That was that. It was a small, basic acai bowl. Nothing special. Acai bowl 3/5 Service 0/5 Atmosphere 1/5 Location 2/5 Parking 4/5 I will absolutely never come back again. All in all, I'm still thankful for the opportunity to try a new location. I was excited to try their acai bowls after a good walk at the Bayou. Loved that they had a private parking lot so thats always a plus. It was a cute little shop, that had a running training club attached. As for the service, it was just *okay*. Other Yelpers seemed to have a better experience but mine was just awkward. The employee wasn't rude, but they didn't go out of their way to be friendly or engaging either. It felt like they were just going through the motions. I expected a little more warmth or enthusiasm especially after reading other reviews. As for the bowl, it was a little on the smaller size. I've had other bowls much bigger for $13 bucks. However the acai was good, the toppings were well-distributed, and I loved the crunch from the seeds. The flavor profile was on point, and it was a satisfying treat. This made for a perfect late-morning breakfast on a Saturday--light, refreshing, and balanced. It was cold (a great contrast to the early summer-like heat), creamy, packed with fresh fruit, and even had hemp for an extra boost. The woman working seemed to be the owner. She was quiet at first but warmed up once we started chatting about the neighboring businesses, and she turned out to be quite friendly. Parking was a breeze with their own lot, which is a rare find. I popped into Cosmic Juice in Houston, TX for this Yelp Elite Event & I got their famed OG açaí bowl, and while the bowl itself was fresh (bananas and strawberries, flavor-packed with fresh fruit and crunchy granola, the service left a a lotta bit to be desired. I found myself having to initiate conversation with Gretchen the owner--if I hadn't engaged her, I'd probably have been met with silence. Although she did eventually respond, a bit more proactive engagement on her part would have made the visit feel a lot more welcoming. I didn't feel welcome %100. The açaí bowl was a visual treat with its deep purple hue, layered with a mix of granola, strawberries, bananas and a drizzle of honey that perfectly complemented the smooth, rich açaí base. It definitely was refreshing and a good re start for my week considering the fact I'm trying to be more health conscious! 72 degrees in Houston with sunny skies called for acai bowl. Just a little under a year old this place is making Houston healthier one bowl,smoothie and wellness shot at a time. It's a quaint building with a private lot and in the heights that is cherished. Before this place was here it was a vet place and a co-op so you see some cool decor. The OG bowl is very fresh the berries pack a vibrant tart punch but are cooled down by the sweetness is the banana. The granola is subtle but added nice texture. I decided to try a fresh juice and 2 wellness shots I'm familiar with elderberry benefits so naturally I got that one and as a Texas girl I had to get the Texas cider tonic. They're a shot a day so I'll be adding them to me morning routine. I also got the energize juice as I love beets and ginger. I do feel pricing was slightly elevated but for the location and fresh ingredients it is on par for the area. This Spring they'll start hosting wellness market from 11-4 with live music, yoga and vendors the last Sunday of the month. The nice gent serving me, Four (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly), swiftly blended the acai base and sliced the fruit toppings to order. I think the plastic cup size for this event is smaller than the full size one pays for. He was nice and easy to talk to, and apparently he's been whipping out these concoctions since he was 11 years old as part of the family business! While the everything tasted fresh (and refreshing!), I prefer my acai base to be sweeter-- the base tasted on the icier side, so I might need to add some honey or agave next time! They have a rainbow of juices and drinks on the menu that I'll have to try, especially with summer hitting hard soon :D The shop is really spacious, located right next to a workout studio, and has 3 or 4 tables to sit at. The juices and bowls must be a hit after a good sweat! What a perfect post workout treat! I came here after a hard workout in the morning, and I knew this was the best way to get my day started off right. Cosmic Juice makes healthy foods taste great! Pulling up, I've driven nearby here a lot but never really noticed this place. They have a small parking lot which is nice, but street parking available as well. The inside is surprisingly spacious and they share the space with Grit Running Center. Running and super food smoothies/bowls, what a great combination! This particular visit I tried their OG acai bowl and their garlic pineapple shot w/ freshly cracked black pepper on top. The acai bowl was perfect. It was just the right consistency, very fresh fruits, and their homemade granola and hemp seeds on top were the crunch it needed. As far as the garlic pineapple shot goes, I took a risk on this choice, and I was pretty happy with it! The garlic and pineapple actually balanced each other out, and the cracked black pepper on top was just an added boost of antioxidants. 10/10 would do again! Overall, Cosmic Juice is a great juice/smoothie/bowl shop tucked inside of Montrose that I might have missed if it wasn't for Yelp. Refreshing, fresh, and satisfying are the three words that immediately came to mind when I tried the açaí bowl. The fruits on top as well a the açaí blend itself tasted fresh and were complimented with the hemp hearts. I personally asked for no granola, which the worker/owner happily obliged. Parking is ample and nice to have a lot whereas the area is mostly street parking. My only complaint about the place is how noisy it was. I believe the building is shared with some sort of running gym or other studio class, and the music and other sounds from the class bled quite heavily into the Cosmic Juice space. read more

Overall great experience and a delicious Acai bowl. The location is very hidden and tucked away. You wouldn't stumble upon it unless you're going to the yoga studio that's attached. They need larger signs that are visible from the street. Parking was easy in the lot right out front. When we arrived there must have been a yoga class going on because when we left it was completely empty. Entered into a chill space with plenty of seating. Ordering was easy as there was only one choice. There was another elite so she made ours at the same time. It did take a while to get our small bowls. I'm not sure how they handle the rush from yoga class getting out or if they had the amount of customers to fill the space. The owner missed an opportunity to educate us about what makes their Acai bowl special. Without any context, it was similar to other Acai bowls, if not a little on the bland / diluted side. The Acai bowl with granola, fresh strawberries and bananas was tasty, but average. Since we didn't get a normal portion, it's hard to comment if it would be worth it. If I'm in the area, wanted a snack and place to sit and chill for a while this seems like a decent choice. I also might forget without more prominent signage. read more

I went and found parking. Going in I heard a lot of sounds upstairs and the owner explained that there is a dance class going on. She let me scan the QR code to check in and asked if I wanted hemp seeds or not. I opted out of it. While she was making my açaí bowl, she explained the history of the business after I asked her. Popped in 5 minutes before closing on the last day of the event, and Gretchen welcomed me in anyway! She's a nice lady that I had the chance to have a 1 on 1 conversation with. I must have come at a opportune time because unlike some other Yelpers that reported having to wait ~15 minutes for their Acai bowl, she prepared mine within two minutes. The OG bowl looks visually appetizing. The strawberries in particular tasted very fresh, which I attribute to the agave that she drizzled on top. I can't tell if the agave is the sole ingredient that is giving this acai bowl a unique sweetness, but either way, I love it. It's a snack that I want to add to my list of on-the-go options, but the $10 price tag ($13 for the regular size) holds me back from doing so. I'll need some time to mull over whether I'd like to revisit on my own dime. Came here on the last day of the event cause timing was difficult but it was a great, sunny, sliggtly warm Houston day so perfect for an acai bowl. This was a sort of tucked away shop in Montrose but had a private lot and street parking available so a big plus there for accessibility. The space was very open and seemed to be shared with a studio/gym of some sort which seems like a great spot for a healthy, refreshing smoothie, juice, and bowl spot. Seems like Cosmic Juice offers quite a few items and a lot on the menu sounds delicious so would be looking to return as things keep heating up here. As part of the Yelp event, I got the OG acai bowl. It was a very fresh, refreshing, and light treat! The acai blend was lightly sweet and tart, the granola added a nice crunchy texture, and the strawberry and bananas were a welcome cut fruit along with the rest of the bowl. I think overall, the bowl was really good. Service was also nice, our cashier/server/food prepper (who I assumed is the cosmic juice girl) let us know a time estimate and just general info about her store and offerings. I felt bad as things started to pick up and I heard wait times were going into the half hour mark. I did see a sign for help wanted during the weekends and seeing the crowd, it makes sense. Rating was difficult for me and I ended up going with 4 stars just cause the wait time and hours can be a bit difficult for some folks. I think its currently 10-5 daily which might be somewhat inaccessible for a lot of folks during the weekday, but maybe not the clientale here. Also, pricewise things seemed a bit steep. However, given location, access to a private lot, and the use of fresh fruit, I can see the justification, just as a current poor grad student, it would be out of my budget. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try this local spot and as always want to thank the teams at Yelp and Cosmic Juice for putting this together. Service was nice and friendly. Owner explained menu options and health benefits. I learned they will even do custom orders with planning and prepayment. The space is not huge but there are 3 four top tables inside. Couple of bistro tables outside. The acai cup was a nice treat. Refreshing and a nice breakfast or snack option. Talk about a hidden gem. This is a place is would not have stumbled upon without someone telling me it was there. It is hidden behind buildings in a mixed use property. When you walk in it def give us woo woo with the crystals and stuff. Lool Upon entering i was greeted by their pleasant solo employee who explained that they were previously at a farmers market and decided to transition to their current brick and mortar. Also housed inside the building is a pro running training center with a impressive line of medals and times from some of the top marathons in the world. Anyway I trialed the acai bowl minus bananas because yuck and it was standard issue and good! They also offer juices and other assortment on the fridge along with other woo woo bevs. I ordered a tumeric latte also. It was very heavy on the turmeric but good. Thank you Yelp, Jando and Cosmic for this refreshing açaí bowl that I got to enjoy with the most perfect weather outside. It was just the right size and amount for me, tho I'm sure the actual portion must be larger for that price! It was a very quiet Sunday before closing. Nice open space, health forward. The lady who helped me mentioned the gym space being for elite level training (Olympics). Cool! Ample parking in their lot and easy for a quick stop! read more

This is a cute location ducked off from main road Westheimer. The building is home to an assortment of businesses all centered around health. Such as a workout studio, dance studio, and clothing store with workout clothes. One stop shop. I had some customizations to my bowl and they were pretty accommodating about doing it.It was a good midday snack! I also ordered a cucumber drink that was freshly juiced that was amazing! I sincerely appreciate the vibe of this place, and always grateful to Yelp and local businesses for partnering for these Elite perks! Unfortunately, the acai bowl did not live quite up to my hopes (and I always add peanut butter! - cause of course I do). The granola didn't quite hit, the help seeds added a fair texture but somehow the overall rich/complex acai bowl flavor profile I look for felt lacking. Clearly I still enjoyed it though! We also bought a smoothie, which ended up being suuuuper mid (or maybe just bad especially given the price point). I was really looking forward to a new juice/bowl spot to add in rotation but this unfortunately is not quite going to make it in! read more

This is a hidden gem. Love the setup and cleanliness of the place. They have a cute seating area. They also sell cloths as well. Now on to the açaí bowl. Not sure if the size I received was for the yelp event or if it is the normal size but its smaller than normal açaí bowl. I also ordered a green juice and the beet juice. Both juices were really yummy! I definitely will return to try a smoothie and get juices. Customer service was great! read more

Cute little juice place in Montrose!! Love the opportunity to try any new juice/ smoothie places. This one seems great! The owner is so sweet & it was nice to hear more about the store and their upcoming plans. The Açaí bowl was yummy & I also tried a turmeric shot which they make fresh for you! (Much preferred over premade one) and it was served with a slice of fruit to the cut the peppery taste. For this elite week, yelpers were given the OG Açaí Bowl, which had all the classic essentials--smooth açaí, crunchy granola, fresh strawberries, bananas, and hemp seeds. It was incredibly refreshing and made for a perfect pick-me-up. During my visit, I got to meet Four, who gave me a little introduction to the place and its backstory. Four was super kind and outgoing, making the experience even more enjoyable. He shared that his mom is the owner and that they were able to secure this cozy spot through a connection with the building's owner. One thing I love about this location is that it's right next to a running center, which makes it an ideal stop for a post-workout snack. read more

This event was a great opportunity to check out a new business and support a local shop! Cosmic Juice has such a cute space! They share it with a running studio, which is at the back of the building. The shop emanates the positive energy of their focus on wellness. There was plenty of seating, including a couch area! They also have their own private lot, which is always a plus in this area. Not your average açaí experience! This might be the most uniquely beautiful juice spot I have ever visited. As soon as I walked inside, I got distracted by the charm of the interior space and forgot I was actually at a juice bar. There were 3 açaí bowl flavors to choose from and we ordered the OG (+ almond butter) and the superfood. I wish the two bowls we were different enough for each to have their own unique flavors, but they tasted very similar. I found it slightly overpriced for the amount of food we got, but nevertheless this was a refreshing treat especially after a workout. There is comfortable seating with lots of natural light. There is a fitness studio upstairs which explains why they are also selling apparel here. Overall I had a pleasant experience, though next time I will likely try a smoothie as they seemed to have more flavors to choose from. read more

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, a place to relax after a workout or to read a book. The OG acai bowl was delicious. Sweet enough with the freshest fruits and it didn't need all the bells and whistles. I also got one of turmeric appleade juices and I drank it on the way home. It was very refreshing. This was a refreshing treat after yoga in the park on a beautiful Saturday morning! It's always a relief when the business has a private parking lot. Cosmic Juice's isn't huge but a decent size for the neighborhood and I easily found a spot. The waiting area was nice with plenty of seating. It was a comfy place to sit and wait for my bowl as well as a nice spot for chitchatting and eating a quick bite. I enjoyed my açaí bowl but I wanted to add almond butter to it. I appreciate that my order was blended up and prepared as soon as I mentioned I was a Yelp elite but I didn't have the opportunity to modify my bowl or really add any other items to my order. I didn't even realize she was making my order until it was ready. I wasn't sure if she was preparing something else for someone or taking care of something else altogether. She didn't really give any explanation of what was going on. Not a huge complaint or anything that ruined the experience but it's probably worth mentioning the bit of confusion I experienced. At any rate, the smoothie part of my açaí bowl was blended perfectly and the fruit was super fresh. The bananas nice and sweet. As I grabbed it from the counter fellow elite, Mahwish had walked in and was also waiting on her order. We had a chance to sit and chat while enjoying our bowls which was really nice. I also ordered a mushroom cacao latte w/ hemp milk after getting my bowl and it was perfect. It gave me a nice morning pick me up. It was my first time trying the blend and I'd definitely order it again. It fits my diet preferences fairly well and I loved the smoothness of the latte as well as the steadiness of the pick me up.
