Note: I booked a class with Class pass. Check the website to see if the class time has changed! Mine was at 7 but the reservation said 7:30, so I am glad I looked. I had a great class with Alina teaching the Arabic basics to belly dance. I used to belly dance professionally with a troupe 10 years ago and I still learned so much about muscle control and isolations. You can definitely take as a beginner or any level because of the in-depth teaching. It looked like other styles were taught at this studio as well, Latin, Ballroom, and Ballet to make a few. Definitely refer to the website for the most up to date class schedule. A drop in-class is $20, it was 2 class pass credits for my first booking. The studio is at the corner end of a shopping plaza right when you turn into it. The mirror inside is facing the front and the side with the door and check in stand is facing the parking lot. So let me start by saying that my experience isn't a recent one... I've been meaning to review them for a long time. I had signed up for classes through an online deal while I wasn't travelling and attended very regularly for about two months. The studio was relatively small in size, conveniently located, clean and comfortable (I heard they were relocating, I have not been to the new location). I'm not new to dance, and chose to attend 3-5 nights a week mainly for Salsa and Bachata (I even paid for 2 private lessons and ended up only using 1, but it was such a good lesson!). I also attended a class or two in Rumba, Latin Hustle and Argentinian Tango. At any rate, as for the studio itself, what I can say is that Elite's true strength is in its teachers... they quickly assess what you can do and guide you from there. They pay attention to detail, even give feedback during the lesson to participants so that bad habits are not practiced or repeated. All of these experiences were what was severely lacking at my previous long-attended dance studio. Most other students/dancers were friendly and supportive. On the negative side, communication from the teachers wasn't always good, and there are "cliques" - unavoidable in many settings - but very noticeable to me as a newcomer, and having been to other studios previously. Another negative was that I arrived ready to dance on 2 separate occasions only to find out that the class that was posted for that time slot was cancelled. It also didn't sit well that in the next class I attended, others (in the clique) spoke about how they had heard about the cancellations through texts from one another. Annoying & disappointing as a new student to say the least (note: neither of these negatives caused me to discontinue going there... I just resumed travelling). Pros: - conveniently located - clean, well maintained - fair selection of dance classes and class times - pricing is reasonable - knowledgeable, experienced teachers CONS: - communication with ALL students regarding cancellations - could use more "group blending"... staff needs to avoid feeding into clique culture read more

Acelyn B and I were given a GroupOn as a gift for a private dance lesson. We hit a snag trying to find the place. The address on the GroupOn had an old location. Fortunately, we were able to reschedule our appointment. Our instructor (Alex?) was very nice. He was finishing up with a couple preparing for their wedding. He seemed to have taught them a lot throughout their course of time together. He was working with them patiently and was very helpful. We were provided the same, kind treatment when it was our turn. We mentioned that we've done some light ballroom dancing in the past. Taken some classes here; did some debut performances there (FYI: a debut is the filipino version of the quinceanera). It had been years since our last attempt to dance so we stunk. He corrected everything that we've been taught. In an hour, we re-learned and cleaned up basic steps to our waltz, salsa, fox trot, and bachata. I'd definitely consider coming to work on a wedding dance or something of the like. read more

Found this school a few years ago on Groupon. The school is a little hard to find on my GPS but if you put in the gas station Rocketfuel The location comes up. Small Dance Space but very friendly and inclusive group of people. The teachers Alex and Sue are outstanding dancers as well as teachers. Additionally Alex Romero is a smart businessman and knows how to bond a group of people so everyone feels welcome and familiar with one another. This creates an ideal environment for fun. He also knows everyones abilities, strengths, weaknesses and provides instructional feedback throughout the class. Many instructors just have you go through patterns and don't provide Corrections. Alex and Sue provide detailed instruction and corrections to help each student improve every class. One of the things I like the best about this school is that at the end of every class the students get to Dance 1 Song to practice and solidify the techniques they just learned. It doesn't matter what level you are, beginner to Advanced, Alex and Sue start you from wherever you are and get you comfortable and dancing and succeeding. read more

After finding elite on groupon I made a call to schedule our first visit. Alex picked up the phone and immediately I knew this was the place that was going to help us nail a wedding dance. I called around to a few places and was not really happy about what I was being told. I told Alex that we wanted to do the song earned it by the weekend. Which seemed to make him very happy because he already had a routine in mind that he did for the that song. When we met for our first visit the place was pretty empty other then 2 of his instructors and dance partners. Which made me very happy since I'm new to dancing and wanted to feel comfortable. We started with some basics of what he would expect from us. I liked the fact that he took our special moment very serious and said that he doesn't do anything unless it's done right. My type of guy since if I'm doing it I want to do it right. Now we only had about 3 weeks before our wedding so we knew it would be tough to learn all the choreography in time. That didn't stop Alex from making sure we learned all the details. His assistant (sorry can't spell her name) helped work on a lot of the female moves with my fiance and he helped me with the male parts and being a better leader. He is very organized, but knows how to improvise and take what we do naturally into account. In less then 10 sessions we learned our routine and felt completely comfortable going to our wedding and nailing a well thought out routine. I'm so happy I found elite and would recommend them to anyone who wants to learn a real dance routine for their wedding. I would also try some of their classes because they seem to have a great family environment and really work to make people better dancers. I'm actually going to go back to them after the wedding to learn how to dance to different music. Overall I had an amazing time learning the moves that would make my wedding dance more then just a waltz. read more

They offer classes of different dances, salsa, bachata, Argentine tango, and ballroom. There is zumba too. Many cool patterns are taught in the group class. My boyfriend and I went there yesterday because we got a groupon for 5 group classes. First off, there are two dances going on at the same time without separation, which was a little odd. Although we stopped by just to pick up a schedule for next time, the class was starting, so we figured we;d give it a shot. I always have dancing shoes in the car, but my bf was wearing flip flops - which we figured wouldn't be a problem to learn the basic box since he has never danced before. The class started with people "warming up," which for someone who goes for the first class is very frustrating because you wouldn't know what to do and you just kind of stand there. I tried showing my bf the basic steps so he can start moving and hopefully catch up. Instructor waived for my bf to come forward, and then said "oh, flip flops, no sorry," and waived us off. Really? You couldn't be nicer about it?! I just hope he will give dancing another shot after such a non-welcoming atmosphere. He also was very confused by the fact that everyone was in one group, first timers and those who were polishing technique, because for a newbie, it is better to be with alike newbies - I mean, come on, nobody likes to feel embarrassed and be the ugly duck on their first lesson ever! Waste of a goupon, we will rather spare ourselves the stress than use the value there. On the positive note, there are lots of people there who seam to like it, so maybe if you want to get some practice and already have some basic skills - you may like it. read more

Anyone can be taught a choreography but if what you want is to learn how to dance using proper technique Elite International is the Dance Studio you need. The staff is friendly yet professional, they will treat you like family. One thing I love the most about Elite is the fact that the instructors make sure you learn, they push you to keep trying till you get it. Patience is a virtue that not everyone possess and when dealing with people that learn at a different pace that's something really important to consider when looking for a place to learn and have fun at the same time. read more

This is one of the few dancing studios where different dances like Argentinian Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Waltz and more besides Latin dances are shown.
