I actually drove by this tall building a countless number of times, which has doctor's offices and a walk in clinic inside, and did not notice that the building has a Benchmark physical therapy office on the first floor because there is just a small sign by the street. I actually found this place on an Internet search because I wanted to stay local and see if there was something better out there, which in my opinion, is better. I went to STAR physical therapy in Spring Hill, Tennessee for lower back pain at the recommendation…read moreof my doctor. When I set up my first appointment I was told that since my insurance had a high deductible, each visit would cost 100 dollars. I went for 3 visits and paid the 100 dollars each time. I found the therapist and staff to be quite unprofessional. They spent most of the time carrying on conversations having nothing to do with health care or physical therapy among other staff members and people in the room. Every one of my treatments consisted of the therapist briefly describing an exercise, and having me do a certain number of reps while she walked away. Upon completion of that exercise, she would give me another exercise to do and walk away again. At the end of each 50 to 55 minute session she would print out a one or two page summary of what we did so I could continue the exercises at home. At no time in any of the visits was there any measurement or objective assessment of my progress. It simply consisted of asking me if I felt any better, giving me a few more exercises, and another printout. Everything that was done during the three visits could have just as easily been done by handing me a print-out of the exercises when I walked in the door the first time and sending me on my way. Had I known this was all that was going to be done, I could have simply looked up the exercises online. When they billed my insurance company, they fragmented the coding of each office visit into 3 components. In total the 3 times I visited were billed at 1081.00. After the insurance company acted STAR sent me a bill for a balance owed of 219.21. As a doctor myself, I feel like they engaged in some pretty creative coding in their insurance billing, designed to maximize profit at my expense. I will not return to STAR in the future, and would not have gone there originally had I known how unprofessional, ineffective, and expensive the care would be.

However, I have been trying to get my medical records for MONTHS. They are centralized, so the clinic itself isn't allowed to give me my records. I have emailed, called and left messages, and faxed. I cannot get a person on the phone and no one will respond to me. It is absolutely ridiculous. When I called the clinic to ask if they could help me, they were very kind but said they couldn't offer much help. They even said that when they have had to reach out to this office, they don't get a response. They were able to give me the phone number to a supervisor but that voice mail box was full.

At first, I thought Results and the PT I had truly cared about getting my arm better, however, that wasn't the case. The PT I had put on a great facade, but I have learned she NEVER had my well-being in mind. She disregarded doctor's orders, after I dislocated and fractured my humerus. She made the decision to not schedule me for any appointments until I saw a neuro. (Which was almost 5 weeks) I have found out from my new physical therapist, she shouldn't have done that and furthered the complications in my arm. Then, when I was allowed to come back to see her she complained about every shirt I wore and had the audacity to call me the "worst patient" ever. Very disrespectful. She then had me go to acupuncture, which I have further found out, caused more issues for me. She wouldn't help me find a descent doctor who would help fix my arm, obviously she never had any intentions of trying to help me. But she didn't mind wanting to befriend me, when she had no intentions of being a friend. I needed a physical therapist who would fix my arm instead of a friend. Beware of the new laser machine they have there. It caused a skin rash due to me having sensitive skin and nobody explaining that to me. Two months later I still have the rash and skin damage. The whole clinic sides with their PTs instead of their patients. They are all about making the company money and not helping the patient. I did everything she asked me to do and was always very compliant, when I wanted to tell her no. I spent thousand of dollars doing what she said with acupuncture and continuing to see her, even though I wasn't seeing results. However, now, I have a new physical therapist who explained to me that my shoulder sags which is compressing my nerves, arteries, and muscles. She helped me get in with a state-of-the-art sports medicine doctor who is fixing my shoulder and arm. If had to do over again, I would have never seen again when she did things her way in April 2022, instead of what the doctor wanted.
